Got the Buffalo chicken pizza. It was down right awful. Right off the bat, I asked for extra sauce on the pizza because this establiahmwnt is known for never putting enough sauce on their pizza. They must've forgotten, because this pizza was dry and had barely any sauce at all. Waaaay too much blue cheese on this pizza. It overpowered the entire pizza, all the chicken and bacon you paid for? Couldn't taste a damn bite of it. And at 25 dollars for this pizza, I sure as fuck paid for it allright. Crust way okay, neither terrible nor great. A very bog standard bar crust, and what I can only assume was an amatuer in the kitchen. I wish I could take my tip back. This pizza was very dissapointing and very dry. Save your money and shop elsewhere for good takeout, 2.7/10 would not recommend. read more

I had lunch here the other day. I went with seafood bisque soup and a chicken Caesar wrap. The seafood bisque was just okay. It wasn't bad, but not amazing or something I'd order again. I felt like it was missing something. The seafood was also cut up and diced super small. There wasn't any actual full pieces of seafood in the soup. The chicken Caesar wrap was delicious! Not overdressed with dressing. Nice pieces of chicken and shredded Parmesan cheese. They also have a generous amount of Caesar dressing on the side. Never have I ever had to go back to a pizzeria and say something about a slice to go. Seriously, a specialty slice should be the same size as a standard slice. When I went in, the gentleman behind the counter said he didn't see anything wrong. That "if anything it's larger than most places bc they cut that pizza into 6ths". I don't want to buy 2 to get a sufficient slice. As a long islander I eat a lot of pizza. Even the worst pizzeria's still give a standard sized slice. I haven't even tried the pizza, it may be fantastic. But I don't want to feel like I'm being "ripped off". Luckily I checked the box in the car instead of making it home. Fantastic food! Made reservations for their dining room for a Saturday night and we were the only ones in the dining room as most people opted for take out instead. We started with garlic knots, which were cooked perfectly, and served warm. We then ordered the fried ravioli and stuffed mushrooms. I highly recommend the fried ravioli over the mushrooms, which I found to be a little mushy for my liking. Our entrees came with either a Caesar or house salad. The house dressing was great. For entrees, we got the chicken Parm and eggplant rollitini, both with sides of pasta and vodka sauce, and pasta with meat sauce. Everything was delicious especially the vodka sauce! The service was fast and friendly, and the dining room was nicely decorated with Christmas decorations. Overall, a great option for Italian food. Hoping to try the pizza next time. read more

Salvino's is now our family go to pizzeria. I love everything from them. I usually ordered them through Uber and the food is still so good. A lot of times if you ordered from Uber the food will be cold when it gets to my door. But with Salvino's it stays hot and delicious. The Pasta Dishes is amazing. Wife and I just moved to the area. First thing she did was look for a good pizza place near by and this was the first one that popped up. We are having a party and wanted to make sure we tried out the pizza before ordering a couple of pies for family. The pizza we tried was a regular cheese, pepperoni, and meatball. We had TWO encounters with her on two separate occasions! She's obnoxious and rude, when you ask her a question, such is to you have a menu I can see? Honestly, after one visit, probably one of my favorite pizza places on the island! A bit unassuming at first, but when you walk in, its a classic pizza parlor affair. Woodsy interior, glass cases lined with the classics and few new choices (hello garlic knot crust!). Peek a bit in the back and you'll see there's even a cute and cozy dining area for more formal affairs. I ordered a white slice and cannoli. My friend ordered a baked ziti slice. While we waited for our slices to heat up, we were met with the most wonderful and friendly service. We were even invited to sit in the back even though it wasn't close to dinner hours. The white slice was wonderful. Plenty of cheese, sturdy base. Maybe a smidge too salty, but I ate everything. The cannoli was nice too: light shell with a hit of cinnamon, good amount of cannoli filling. I do wish there were more chocolate chips for texture but beggars can't be choosers. I absolutely love this place! It has such a cute dining room in the back that is so cozy and perfect for a nice dinner. Their pizza was so delicious! I tried the eggplant slice and the Vaca slice. When it comes to pizza, I prefer mine to be actually "cooked", not "cold and raw".... but "cold and raw" is what I received. This pizza was actually UNCOOKED. The base crust was clearly made and cooked in advance (which IS normal for the type of pie we ordered), however, one expects that shell, after the sauce is put on (or in our case, dumped) and cheese is added, to find its way back into an oven for more than 30 seconds... There was SO much unheated sauce on our pizza, that it had leaked through the cuts in the crust, and underneath, where it turned the entire base of the pie wet, and actually soaked through the cardboard box. As for the cheese? Hard, cold, and with it's original shape still intact (edges and all). What's even more insulting, is for the store to claim "that's how it's supposed to be". Sorry. I'm 55 years old, and have lived in NY most of my natural life. I've sampled every type, style, and permutation of pizza that exists, and let me share with the owners of Salvino's "Pizzeria", that in no way, shape or form, was what they sent us "the way it's supposed to be". So if you think that an ice cold, uncooked, pile of slop is "the way it's supposed to be", you should either leave New York, or order from this sorry excuse of a restaurant, staffed by people who seem incapable of accepting the fact that they made a mistake, and whomever put that pizza into the box, should be fired. It's really too bad - because the PASTA dishes we ordered, that accompanied the "pizza", were quite good, and arrived hot. read more

Good traditional pizzeria. Exactly what you want when you're craving pizza. Crust is crispy on the bottom, the sauce is just right. The service was excellent. Seems like they have plenty of regulars and has that local family joint dynamics. The ambiance is a step nicer than your typical strip mall pizza joint. I have never been to Salvinos before but saw Groupon had coupons on sale and bought two. Very good choice, you can use them for eat in or take out and we chose two heroes to go.
