Super cute pizza spot with pretty good pizza! My mom had been saying good things. She use to work for the Town of Brookhaven before she retired a few years back. She said a lot of people would order pizza from here, so we decided to give it a shot. I got a few different slices and they were solid! The buffalo garlic Knot was a nice change from the traditional. The inside of the restaurant itself was not what I was expected. But it was a pleasant surprise (see photos). Stop into Big Italy Pizza to grab a few slices and this spot is a solid spot considering how far east in Suffolk. The place itself is a bit small but has a nostalgic atmosphere with the various pictures and memorabilia inside. Ordered 4 slices to go ( 2 penne ala vodka, 1 regular and 1 margarita) the total came out to 19.54 after tax (cheaper to pay with cash which I opted for). The service was solid and everyone that was working at the restaurant greeted us and the lady that took our order welcomed us back to try more food. read more

Very quaint & unique little pizza spot located in Middle Island, Long Island. I love the marketing outside their building & upon walking inside was greeted to an extremely unorthodox look for a pizza restaurant. I'm sure I passed several other competitors on my trip to Long Island, but this place was the one spot that completely stood out to me & I knew I had to stop in there before I returned back to Jersey. Very happy I did, because their regular large plain is both HUGE & very good. NY pizza is in all honesty superior to even NJ pizza, flavor is just ridiculous & noticeably. All of their slices behind the glass are enormous actually. I have found my next new favorite pizza place on planet earth . Looking forward to my next trip out to Long Island & will definitely be paying them a visit again. Maybe try their margarita or penne vodka this time . read more

I live very close and have passed this way many times .I had tried a slice here when they first opened and I was a bit unimpressed . I tend to think we gravitate to the pizza of our youth . My grandfather owned a pizza place / Italian restaurant in Rocky Point many years ago. He didn't sell slices , he didn't want to reduce the heat of the oven . As a result , his Pizza crust had a bit of a crackle to it when folded . That's not the sort of pie they make here . But it's flavorful , they use good ingredients , there is a good cheese to sauce ratio ...in short it's a solid choice for pizza . I'm a believer . read more

I passed this pizzeria many, many times. People I know said it was good and being somewhat of a foodie in my own right. I'll give it a try. I love a great NY traditional slice of Pizza. my friends and I will go just about anywhere for that great slice. John's on Bleecker in Manhattan is one my favorites. Big Italy pizza is not. I usually order one slice and a Coke because theres nothing better. Today because I was starving, I ordered two slices. which I never do especially when the pizza sucks. and I can leave with dignity After the first slice. lesson learned, never change regardless of how hungry I was. The person behind the counter was very nice. she says she has a pie coming out of the oven which is never my first choice. I know enough people that own pizzerias and when a pie comes out of the oven. They never cook it all the way through, because they're going to reheat it when someone orders a slice. I get my 2 slices and a Coke and sit at the table. the slices are huge! I mean Catchers Mitt Huge. And very heavy and oily. One bite and chewing gum, cheese is falling off the slice. the taste wasn't very good, it was a big disappointment. To make matters worse, I was there on July 3rd and I'm texting a friend who knows pizza better than most. He looked up the rating at Big Italy pizza and it was a 3.9. now, if that's from 1-5 it should be a 1. The staff was talking about they will be open on the 4th. This place took my order on the phone and only when I got to the restaurant told me they didn't have half of the things I ordered. They also told me a completely different price and only after he charged me he told me it was 20 dollars more than the original price. Classless. read more

I've tried and tried and tried and finally just gave up. Food and service aren't the same. Spent $61 (like $6 was a tip) on two pizzas and a dozen garlic knots. I know costs have increased but $4.95 to put some slices of pepperoni on a pizza is just ridiculous. Also calling ahead and then driving there to see they haven't even started the order- and then to top it off, no one ate the food. I have five adults in my house and they usually snarf pizza down. We have been here for pizza several times, which is pretty good. Tonight, my husband decided to get food. He ordered a veal parmagiana dinner and instead of the pasta, fettuccini al fredo. My husband said the veal was too thick. The fettuccini al fredo wasn't even fettuccini pasta, it was spaghetti. I said it didn't look right. My husband said it was disgusting. Tried Big Italy Pizza out on a delivery website based on my old managers past experience that he and his wife were raving about it. I'm so glad that they did! The pizza is great and so is the pricing! The slices are also huge compared to most pizza places on the island. The garlic knots taste delicious and are a good size.
