Perhaps twice a day, I give thanks for my beautifully renovated master bathroom. It has transformed my enjoyment of my home. Rewind to 2013, I hired a licensed general contractor to gut and remodel my other bathroom and although it looked good upon completion, within the first few weeks, I noticed some glaring construction errors. This past experience made me a bit nervous about the process and outcome of this master bathroom remodel. Nick of Bella Marley Tile and Stone came highly recommended by a client of mine. I was looking to have my bathroom re-tiled but was not exactly sure what kind of look or style I wanted. I was referred to Nick at Bella Marley Tile by a close friend of mine. My friend assured me that I would be not be disappointed. Reluctantly I called Nick. He called me back within 2 hours. I explained to him that I was not quite sure what I had wanted, he told me not to worry and together we could come up with something great. He answered all my questions with ease and professionalism. I have been wanting a backsplash for the past few years and it wasn't until recently that I ran into some affordabe glass tiles at Home Depot. That was my inspiration to start getting serious and started contacting different companies for estimates using Yelp. I'm so glad that I found Nick on Yelp! I got Nick's referral from Ceren at Natura Tile in Dublin. We wanted to get our fireplace tiled over since the existing brick was an eyesore. He came over to give an estimate and explained how he'd go about the project, the layout and type of edging that we'd like. Since I knew little about tiling, he thoroughly explained what materials he'd use and made a few helpful suggestions based on the existing interiors of my house. The estimate was emailed and fully detailed the scope of the project. In terms of the project itself, he arrived on time and completed the work within the agreed time frame. He laid down protective sheeting for the floors and surrounding furniture and always cleaned up after the days work. The fireplace turned out to be beautiful. We chose to get a bullnose edge for the marble tile and Nick's teammate, Enrique, did a superb job at that. Nick even agreed to fix a broken baseboard tile at no extra cost and was always willing to answer any 'other' tile related questions I had. Overall I found Nick to be friendly and efficient. His pricing was very reasonable and his work was of high quality (I have other tile work around my home from previous owners and in my opinion his work is superior in comparison) Although the scope of our project was small, I would not hesitate to hire him again for larger projects. read more

I have known Nick Phillips for several years now. When I first met him he was working as the lead installer under a different contractor.For the last several years he went on his own, got his license and started his own tile company called Bella Marley Tile and Stone. Pros for Nick Phillips: He has always been the contractor, who would not mind going the extra mile needed for his clients. For instance he researches the tiles being specified by the designers, he tries to get the best price for the materials, he picks up the materials for his clients, installs them, he is fast but precise, and at the end of the job the result is beautiful. One of the pros of Nick Phillips is he knows how to read the project. If there are details that would cause problems either in installation or over all look, he would communicate to the client or the designer and would listen to the experts (you would not imagine how many tile installers there are out in the industry who would make the decision without consulting to the designers or the clients). Once he had to do a mosaic one by one to the wall so that the lines would follow each other. Nick really knows how to install tile :) Another good thing about Nick Phillips is he is accountable and reliable. If anything goes wrong (which is rare) he will always stand behind his work. In our conversations he has always mentioned that 'he takes pride in his work''. As a company we do not do installations. We have a list of contractors, tile installers that we give out to customers who asks. I heard from my clients that his prices are very reasonable compared to some other bids that they have got. As far as I know, Nick is preferred by many different general contractors and designers and introduced to their clients as their tile installer. As we just bought a house we were strapped for cash so we decided to get a handyman to do the work.....mistake! A year later our new floors were coming up and water was getting underneath. When you look up professionalism in the dictionary, their should be a picture of Nick Phillips right next to the definition. I too had a very similar experience as a previous yelper. I decided that I wanted to get my fireplace tiled over the existing brick because I am going to be having a christmas party at my place for about 100 co workers and friends and the fireplace definitely needed to be updated! Nick came over to explain everything bout how the project would go from an estimate, the layout he had in mind, materials used, and a couple of suggestions. He later e mailed me the estimate and the FULL details of the project. Nick and his partner Enrique arrived and completed the project in a VERY acceptable time frame in my opinion. He laid down plastic covering over my furniture so that it wouldn't get ruined and cleaned up after every day of work.
