We hired Daniel a couple years ago for our Master Bedroom/bathroom remodel and were so pleased with his work, we knew we'd be using him for our future house projects! We had another quotes from different companies but Daniel at Carmel Construction stood out the most. He was very honest and straight forward. What I like about him was there wasnt any hidden expensive. He'll tell you exactly how much the remodeling will cost. He helped us turn our garage to this beautiful apartment. I was very picky and he didnt give me an attitude or tried to change my mind when I picked certain designs or if he installs something I picked out and I ended up not liking it, he'll change it for me. He is very great at details and will fix it until the customer is happy. Hes all about customer satisfaction. He was always early and always leaves late. We discovered Daniel at Carmel Construction through our kitchen designer. The job was to tear out a 47 year old kitchen to the studs, remove a wall and turn two rooms into a new, larger kitchen. After the design was firmed up, Daniel inspected the existing kitchen and gave us what we considered to be a reasonable quote for all the work that needed to be done - demo, extensive electrical rewiring to meet code, installing all new appliances, new insulation, sheet rock, texturing and paint the walls, etc. Daniel did everything except install the cabinets and countertop. It so happened that there were problems with the original ceiling beams that had to be fixed to meet code. Of course that cost extra, but Daniel was able to fix it himself. He can basically fix anything. Daniel is a perfectionist. He worked by himself most of the time, but brought in help the few times he needed it. He also made several decor suggestions which were spot on. We always were glad he was doing the job. Since he worked by himself, the job took longer than if five people were working at the same time. However, all the work was done correctly and to Daniel's exacting standards. Daniel is very friendly and just a nice person. We cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

Daniel of the Carmel Construction built two bathrooms and a kitchen for our home in Palo Alto, CA from scratch. One of the bathrooms was over 40 years old. Daniel changed everything, all plumbing, demolition, re installation, etc. It was an enormous amount of work. The other bathroom was upstairs with a spiral stairway. I was amazed that Daniel and his co-worker was able to handle the entire demolition without creating a spec of dust inside the house. I would highly recommend Daniel for your home projects. We had a corner in our kitchen (after a brand new kitchen remodel done by another contractor) where the line where the two walls meet was crooked. It was especially noticeable because it lined up within an inch of the kitchen cabinet. Other contractors said there was no way to fix it because it was too close to the cabinet and it would look worse if they tried. Daniel came in and reworked the corner so the line now runs perfectly parallel to the cabinet. My husband and I were amazed that he was able to fix it and, on top of that, he did an excellent job! He did some other work for us in our kitchen and we were very pleased with the results. In all cases, he was meticulous, detailed, had creative solutions, made sure he understood our expectations and took the time to check to make sure we were happy with the results.
