Sometimes I'll add enhancements like hot aroma oil or hot stones. They have a number of add ons to choose from, make sure you ask about them! The location is extremely professional and very tidy. You're greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome from the receptionist--usually Tanya (I'm not sure if I'm spelling that correctly). From the moment you walk in, a sense of peace and calm starts to wash over you as you're led to your room. The instructions are simple: remove your clothing, keep your undergarments on, and relax while you enjoy your massage. I'm not even looking for other places anymore because the level of service they provide here is just THAT GOOD. I can confidently say I haven't found a better place for a massage.

In three decades in this profession, I have never encountered anything quite like this. I had frequented this business repeatedly and had seen this particular therapist many times. I appreciated her work enough that I returned and booked a two-hour massage with her. I was subsequently informed that my appointment had been canceled because I did not "tip enough." Let that sink in. A gratuity is, by definition, voluntary. It is not part of the agreed-upon price of a service, nor should continued access to a therapist be contingent upon meeting some undisclosed expectation for additional compensation. If a business or therapist requires a particular amount above the advertised rate, then that amount should be reflected transparently in the price of the service--not enforced after the fact through cancellation of a returning client. Whether this reflects a management problem in which therapists are not being adequately compensated, or simply the expectations of an individual therapist, I cannot say. What I can say is that management apparently allowed a longtime returning client to be refused service because of an allegedly insufficient gratuity. As someone who has spent 30 years in this profession, I find that deeply unprofessional and contrary to the spirit of what gratuity is supposed to mean. For the record, I tipped 20% on my previous two-hour massage. But the amount is ultimately beside the point. I have treated countless people over the course of my career, some of whom tipped generously, some modestly, and some not at all. I have never "fired" a client because I decided their gratuity wasn't sufficient. Massage therapy is a professional service. Charge what your work is worth. Pay your therapists what their work is worth. But don't advertise one price and then quietly impose an unwritten financial test on clients afterward. After being a frequent customer of this business, I will not return.

I wasn't aware of this email until I reached out to the owner through text and she asked if I had received the email. Her assistant sent me. and then I was told to reschedule. I requested a discount due to the inconvenience and unprofessionalism, or if not, a refund. However, the response I received was a rude, poorly written email stating that I hadn't been charged and to specify what refund I was seeking. This communication seemed sarcastic. I apologized and stated I assumed I was charged before hand due to me having to provide my card information to book an appointment. I was granted a mere $20 discount for a future appointment. (Which really isn't considered a discount since this is the exact deal she has going on right now for Thanksgiving) I found this unfair given their policy of retaining half the service fee if a client cancels less than 24 hours before their appointment. Despite this, I wasn't offered the same courtesy in return. After I gave a preferred date and time for rescheduling and hearing nothing back for three days, I decided to cancel the appointment altogether. (Emails are provided below)
