This place has gone downhill. My partner and I used to enjoy ordering from here. There's a guy when we would call who always sounded like he was annoyed but we ignored it because our requests were fulfilled and the food was good. The last couple times we ordered the quality was up and down.. we decided to give it a try again today. All we wanted was dressing on the side for our wraps which has NEVER been a problem before. The employee on the phone was dismissive, rude and wouldn't comply to our simple request for dressing. He even hung up the phone on me and when I called back he kept trying to act like he couldn't hear me . I told him not to play that with me and to get me his manager. He LAUGHED and told me the manager isn't there. If you look at the other reviews regarding customer service, you can see I'm not alone but I had no idea it's gotten this bad. At this rate, I hope this guy loses his job or the restaurant closes down. Harlem / Washington Heights does not need more shitty food and shitty customer service. Save yourselves the waste of energy and money. You're better off with Dominos. read more

Gave me food poisoning How do I know they gave me food poisoning? Their food was the only thing I ate the the whole day before I got very bad food poisoning. First off the food was okay(3.5/5), nothing really that made me think "wow authentic Italian food" the sausage they use is not great, the other ingredients seemed okay, but for a premium price I would be expecting them to use far better ingredients than they do. I guess in a city where there are very few Italians left, there really isn't a standard of good Italian food anymore. Just makes me miss the food in NYC when I was a kid a bit more. Food poisoning aside, nothing really that was amazing, their bread is the best thing regardless you can definitely find better. I guess if I want authentic Italian food, I'm just going to have to cook it myself... some days I'm just tired and want to eat somewhere or Oder in... oh well The service was average, pretty standard pizzeria service Now I've worked in the restaurant industry in NYC both for the front and back of the house extending over a decade, when it comes to food poisoning there's a few causes, and 99% of it is due to negligence. It could be the line cooks don't wash their hands after wiping in the bathroom, or otherwise. Possibly them handling cooked food on a cutting board that had raw poultry or just with their hands or a knife they cut with. Maybe the food they cooked me fell on the floor and they put it in the pan anyway Maybe they store their produce and meats improperly, causing cross contamination. (You may think this is all crazy, but I've had to fire people for doing these exact things) Worse case scenario it could be rodent droppings contaminating the food at some point. There's plenty more, but I need not continue because some of it is more disgusting than what I list here. If you guys contaminate food, throw it out. Clean your hands, continue to the next dish. Your prices should definitely make up for any loss, and if you don't know how to budget loss in your food cost you need a new Exec. Chef or whoever you have in charge. Whatever the reason, it should not happen, your staff should be properly trained in knowing how to maintain a clean, healthy and safe restaurant. Food handling 101 I guess I can thank them for helping me shed a few pesky water weight pounds that wasn't going away. In conclusion, even if this was the best food I've had in my life, it's not worth how sick I was. read more

Ordered a couple of large pies with fresh mozzerella for a small party. Waaaaayyyy too much garlic was added to each of the pizzas. Like to the point that it's hard to eat them. I didn't even ask for garlic in the first place so I'm not sure why they thought I wanted this. The sauce was good, and the dough was a good texture. I just can't stand to eat the pies. I'm sure it was just a mistake, but it was one that made me toss out $40 of food. read more

It is a recent addition to the neighborhood. Let tell you that the food here is first rate. Italian cuisine at its finest This place is way beyond a pizzeria. So much that I've tried is spectacular compared to typical fare at other places. The calamari is unique with its hop peppers. The sausage pepper and onions was the most delicious I've had in years. The eggplant rollatini was a knock out. They sell a slice called Grandma's pizza that is my go to item when I want a slice. The $10 lunch specials are all good. I decided to get a grandma slice, mozzarella sticks and a slice of tiramisu. Everything was good, but those mozz sticks are straight-up magical. You know how sometimes you crave mozzarella sticks and are so excited to get them, but they're so greasy and soggy that they just immediately end up in a sad heavy lump of regret at the bottom of your stomach? None of that here-- just a perfect ratio of crispy to melty. I don't know how they do it. All I do know is that I am so grateful to have this place in the neighborhood and that I will probably end up gaining 40 lbs from eating here. read more

This small pizza/italian restaurant is a GEM in Washington Heights!! I live in Manhattan, moved to the west side and have searched for an authentic, delicious slice of pizza for months. I tried so many places-dives, upscale and everything in between. Soggy, burnt, no flavor, you nabe it. Frustrated, I gave up and swore off pizza! DONE!! Then last Thursday afternoon while I was working in Washington Heights as a real estate agent, I decided to give this small, hardly noticeable restaurant that had a yellow half moon in its Storefront Sign a final try. It blew my mind!! I had the Margarita slice-fresh tasting tomatoes, cheese was ooey gooey, crust was perfectly crisp and not burnt! DELICIOUS!!!! My daughter had a veggie slice-broccoli was fresh flavorful and cooked perfectly. Not overcooked or watery. I couldn't believe it. I am one tough NY customer. I don't write Yelp reviews unless I absolutely love the food/service etc. My expectations are high. Brian, who runs the restaurant is so friendly. He greets u with a big smile, makes you feel right at home and answers each question with genuine concern for his customers complete satisfaction. UNHEARD OF IN NYC NOWADAYS. He makes you want to return to try more of his menu. And so we did on Sunday! This time we shared the eggplant parmigiana platter. OMG-tomato sauce was divine, eggplant was soooo fresh and tender and the angel hair pasta was al dente. The best eggplant parm dish I've had in more than 2 years. This restaurant is THE best in the area and definitely beyond your expectations. The portion size is legit and the quality is always very good and surprisingly delicate and well made.
