I know I will be back to Bella Pasta very soon. A friend posted on Facebook that she was getting the capellini salad on her way home from work and so I decided to check out the menu. That night I planned a girls night out. The capellini salad was enlightening and delicious. Cold romaine Caesar salad on top of warm capellini pasta. The dressing coated the lettuce and the pasta just enough. I finished the entire portion but mostly because I wasn't sure how it would travel and last for seconds. Before our entrees my friend and I got the Warsaw wings. Another enlightening item! The homemade wing sauce was so tasty but the blue cheese was absolutely delectable. I wouldn't let the waitress take the empty plate away. I dipped the salad's grilled chicken in the remaining wing sauce and blue cheese dressing until I was scraping the plate. We ate in the bar area, by choice, which was loud. Next time we will get a table in the dining area. And there will be a next time. Soon. read more

Was in town for a family matter and decided to stop at Bella Pasta for dinner, as our family matter took place just up the street. They are supposedly known for their delicious Chicken French. I ordered the Chicken Parm with angel hair pasta and a salad with creamy blue cheese. We got artichokes French and Sicilian Calamari as appetizers. The calamari was okay. A bit overcooked for my taste, and nothing really special. The artichokes French were delicious! I would have ordered that as my dinner had I known they were the best items I'd eat that meal. The salad was eh. The creamy blue cheese was super chunky and peppery. I wouldn't order that dressing again. The parm was okay. HUGE portion. But I didn't love the sauce. It was a bit bitter for my taste. The angel hair was also a mistake. It was too soft for the dish. Would have ordered a heartier pasta had I known it'd be soft. I had an entire chicken breast and half the platter of pasta to take home. I tasted the meatball my mom got with her pasta. It was REALLY good. Very similar to what we make at home. Delicious! The decor here is kind of cheesy but the staff was friendly. I don't think I'm a huge fan of standard Rochester sauce. I don't even like Red Fedele's although it's better than this, but it is still kind of blah and bitter. Eh, order the meatballs and the artichokes French. I used to go to Bella Pasta when they were Bella Pasta Cafe on Ridge Road and I loved it. I told everyone I knew about their heaping portions and delicious pastas! I visited the new Ridgeway location last week and was disappointed to find that a lot had changed. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and it was just okay. I like my alfredo to have lots and lots of cheesy goodness and flavor (isn't that why anyone orders alfredo?) but I found it to be bland. I had to add a ton of parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes to get it to taste like anything. I also think it had been sitting out for a while before the server brought it to me because it had started to congeal. Another disappointment was the service. I consider myself to be a great tipper--if you give me attentive service, I'll happily tip you 25%. When the table next to mine got their appetizers before my party did, I didn't think too much of it. But then we kept waiting, and waiting...and finally ours came out. The other table also got their entrees before us, and at that point I politely asked the server if there was an estimate on when ours would come out. I don't think this was an unreasonable request, but I got a very abrupt reply with a lot of attitude from her: that we had ordered appetizers, so she was giving us some time before bringing out the entrees. Okay, but we had been done with our apps for at least 15 minutes. Regardless of that, I didn't appreciate her attitude. Unfortunately I would not recommend Bella Pasta Restaurant to anyone based on this visit, and I can't say I'll be returning any time soon. We went there to celebrate our Mothers Birthday. The service was decent but the food was awful. They brought out the bread which was burnt on the bottom and the crust was so hard it was awful. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo with broccoli. The chicken was so over cooked and tough it was uneatable. The alfredo sauce looked like paste and had no taste what so ever. No seasoning at all. I told the waitress about the chicken and she asked if I wanted them to throw another one on. I told her no as I could here it the kitchen they were more concerned about the football game than cooking. My wife's Lasagna had not taste and the bottom shell needed a steak knife to cut it. The noodles must have been bought at a local store and were not home made . When we asked to have the left over's boxed she asked if I wanted the chicken which I had set aside in the box also. Old family run kind of place that is not interested in staying up to date. Fairly common in Rochester. It was clean so that's the important thing The lunch menu was pretty standard (I included pictures). I did like seeing steamed clams for $8.00 I ordered those clams and lunch sized rigatoni with meatball. Mom got a burger The clams were great. Hot and tender Rigatoni is Not house made. They were just ok. I won't order that again. I liked the sauce. It was not sweet that seems to be common these days. The meatball was good. That I would get again My moms burger was terrible. Small, burned and dry. We sent it back. The owner came out to apologize and that was great but the next one was only a little better. They cook their burgers to well done there. They provided a relatively last minute take-out catering for 30 when most places said they could not (lots of holiday parties going on.) We had the ziti, chicken French, roast beef, roasted potatoes, greens and beans, and tossed salad. All was delicious. The Mother's Day brunch buffet was very good, with the exception of the coffee, which everyone at my table agreed was very weak and tasted a little bit off, like it had been sitting around for a while. Our server and the host were very accommodating, and helped us set up my nephew's high chair (he's too young for the restaurant high chairs). I stuck with breakfast items like fresh fruit and French toast since it was early, though there were lunch items that looked great, like tossed salad, pasta and broccoli, and eggplant parmesan, as well as a carving station. I enjoyed creating an omelet to order - I'm particular about eggs, and this omelet was done perfectly without being overcooked. Dessert options included rice pudding, vanilla pudding, brownies, cheesecakes squares, and cannoli. I'm not sure if Bella Pasta does brunch on other weekends, or if it was just for Mother's Day, but I would go back again (maybe having coffee at home before I go!). read more

Went on a double date and shared a couple of apps - 1 order of fried calamari (so-so), and an eggplant parm (also just so-so.. Very thin slices slathered in sauce). We had 2 orders of the Haddock French - the fish was cooked well but the sauce lacked the traditional tang of Rochester style French sauce. Definitely needed more lemon and a better wine to start with. We also had an order of the gnocchi, again slathered in sauce (don't get me wrong, the sauce wasn't bad but you can hardly see the food underneath). They tasted homemade and were good compared to the alternative, but were very heavy. The meatballs were also homemade and I was told very tasty. You can find good Italian food in Greece; this is the place for you. It's in a strip mall off Ridgeway which you could drive right by if you didn't know it was there. There is a Chinese take out and a Starbucks in this area as well. The salads were good for lunch. You could really fill yourself up at lunch if you wanted. I enjoy something light and the Capellini Pasta Salad was an interesting choice; a mixed greens salad with a protein served on top of capellini in an EVOO and garlic sauce. I've been going to Bella Pasta since they were a tiny restaurant on W Ridge Rd. It was a hidden little gem where my friend & I could go to when we wanted to get together, have a great meal & not get the stink eye from the manager because we took too long catching up. Now that they've moved we still get that same great food, still no stink eye, but we're considerate of others because they're much busier now that they've been "discovered". I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten there, but their Italian wedding soup is by far the best of an Italian restaurant in the area. It's full of chicken, meatballs, pasta & veggies. Very little broth. Perfect. I drive 40 minutes just for their soup. If you haven't tried it you most definitely should. read more

Taste was lacking. The soup of the day no one would touch. Looked like a chicken soup but had the odor of smoked sausage. Grubhub refunded the chicken missing on the pasta but the rest of the $50 order I was stuck with. Tried to call the restaurant and it went to voicemail, to which the voicemail box was full. Chicken Parm, egg plant Parm, delicious red sauce. The owners have lavished attention to many details and we will be back for the delicious smelling seafood that many around us were ordering. Our server, was the owners enthusiastic and helpful daughter. We found out that this restaurant is an expansion of the smaller restaurant that once operated on W. Ridge Rd. We have been missing Bella Pasta since February 2014, when they had to close their former location due to no fault of their own. Finally, after a long 8 month wait, they reopened in a BIGGER and BETTER location in Greece. Their food was always a cut above the rest; their "French's" ranged from Chicken, Haddock, Scallop, Artichoke and more than I can remember, are awesome! Probably the best white sauce that I can remember. We sampled the wood fired pizza tonight and the crust is thin but firm, not at all soggy but not cracker-like either. Toppings are rich and savory. This location has 2 private rooms, one for 28 persons and the other for 75 persons, which are nicely decorated and both have access to the full bar. The wait staff was a mix of old and new, but the friendliness and home-style service is the same, if not better than the old location. My Scallop Diavolo over Linguini was perfect and certainly enough for lunch tomorrow, just enough Diavolo to make my eyes water a bit :-) This will be my go-to for a once a week dinner out! read more

I always stop in for Tripe. Their sauce is magnificent and the tripe is not chewy so actually it is the best since Roncone's on East Ave closed. Today my daughter in law took me back to Bella's telling me it's the best place for Ravioli French which I have never seen on a menu. OMG this is so very delicious and they are huge with plenty of french sauce. I have been coming here since they closed on the Ridge and I am so happy they reopened in Greece. Went back and Bella Pasta is still great. Chicken Parm and Sausage and Chicken Pizziola. Sicilian Calamari was great. Could have used a little more of the topping mixed in but maybe that's just me. Some people may not like that much. I will definitely get again but I'll mention that I'd like more toppings (garlic/oil sauce that is mixed in ). This time we tried a dessert and shared it. Boy are we glad we did. What was recommended to us was the Lemon Cannoli Cake. OMG! This was perfect to finish off the night. Not heavy at all. Really reminded me of a Spring or Summer dessert. I will certainly get this again and I'm not sharing with my husband next time. I want it all! Can't wait to go back and maybe try something new. read more

Glad to finally have Bella Pasta back. We discovered them a few years ago, and have enjoyed every visit. It was disappointing to find out the Ridge Road location closed but after bumping into the owner and hearing that they were moving we've been eagerly waiting the reopening. Well worth the wait. We went last night, for the first time, to the new place and what a great surprise. The place was packed. The food was just how I remembered it. The new atmosphere was even better. And I really believe the owner and head chef both truly care about every customer. They were extremely busy and experiencing some growing pains but both stopped buy our table after things quieted down. Our waitress was very busy but extremely pleasant. We did notice a table that expressed their impatience in a not so adult manner. The owner went out of his way to try and satisfy them but some people are just miserable. The bar is a nice addition to Bella Pasta and hearing that Carlos is coming back will make this our go to spot. We remember Carlos from Romeos. He is an A+ bartender and nice guy . read more

Where to start. Great greeting. Short wait for table. Very friendly staff. Now the best of all. Not our first trip. Always great on all counts. Tonight they went to the moon . I wanted a meal that was not on their menu, and I don't think it ever was. I wanted Filet Saltombocca. The waitress mentioned it to the chef, he said yes and we started the order. Five minutes later the chef comes out and asks me what specifics I wanted with the dish. He came back a second time to verify what he could offer differently than I wanted, and we finalized the order. I found out later the chef is one of the owners. Needless to say one of the best meals I have ever eaten. I love this place for so many reasons, it is nice to have one more.
