Ok, this has been a staple in the local area for decades! Few owners and change of hands. But if you're driving the 299 Highway, you can't miss it! Whether it's triple digit heat and you want an ice cream cone for the win, stop by! Or maybe you're a traveler and want to come in and stretch your legs, cute little booths and tables inside. It's a local country stop. Outdoors there are tables and music being played. Would love to see an update on the seating area. Maybe a water fountain, some drip lines for water misters and some native plants to the area. Sun shades are a must for the heat here. Love the metal totem pole but it needs some love. The food here is old school Americana. Always great service with a smile. Only downfall is their restroom. It's not ADA and it's seen better days bout 50 years ago! It gave the Love's Truck stop bathroom a run for its money. Needs massive overhaul, cleanup and make it friendly for those with disabilities. Gotta be some handy contractors to help this place out. The land is there to make it better! Locals love this place so please improve that bathroom. If you build it, they will come! read more

I have Drove past this little Grill on 299 many times while on my way to Jones Valley. I finally decided to stop and give it a try, and WOW! I ordered their patty melt with fries, and the meal was absolutely delicious. Their burger meat is not a frozen patty like the other burger chains dish out. They use genuine lean ground beef seasoned and grilled to perfection. Yesterday I stopped by and tried their Western Bacon Cheeseburger and I cannot believe I ate the whole thing! Oh man, another delicious meal. Look at the photo of this burger. I wanted to order their pastrami burger, but due to overwhelming popularity, it was sold out! Maybe I'll get one next time, since I will for sure be coming back to this little side of the road Grill. Don't let the size of the place fool you. On our way home from Burney and decided to stop for a burger and shake. Burger had that old burger stand flavor that I miss. Nice size. Shake was yummy and thick. Homemade ranch was so good. They had a inside area that wasn't to cool but it was better than outside. Wasn't sure what to think of the lady that took my order. She wasn't friendly nor rude. Nice little joint on the side of 299. Have a nice varied selection of food, and good desserts. I got 2 burgers, tater tots and fries and fry sauce for $12, so a very good price for everything as well. The burger I got had the perfect amount of seasoning, and was grilled to perfection. One of the best burgers I've ever had. The lettuce and onion provided a really good crunch to contrast the burger and everything tasted fresh. The tater tots were very crispy and the fries were delicious as well. Overall I was very satisfied and there was more than enough food to make me full. Will definitely be coming back. My favorite place in the Redding Area. They have Great Burgers that are not huge and super greasy but rather just right to me. They use good bacon on their burgers and their gems( tater-tots) are always crisp. It is a tiny place so we typically order to go, but they do have inside dining available. The only negative is that they have funky hours so call first. Debits accepted. read more

Rude cook, microwaved food, bagged lettuce. Chicken wad dry and tasteless, obviously frozen then reheated. Disgusting filler pretending to be food. Dirty exterior. The waitress was cute and friendly(the only reason for the star). No reason to return. Such a shame, this place is surrounded by farmers, but they don't use their produce. This place is the best Burger joint in Redding. The hamburgers are good, fry's are crisp, sodas are big. I got a 1/4 pound burger, large fries, and a medium soda for under $9.00. When I was a kid I loved Bartels. I have went there recently also. There burger was not as good, there frys were about the same. But there Price was rediculious. Again Bella Vista Grille is awesome. Food was OK, quesadilla was OK (3.50) pastrami sandwich was less than expected, bread mustard 5oz meat (7.95). Quality of food may be good but the value is not there. Will not be back and would not recommend to friends. Our bill with the food and one ice tea 14.50. The order took about 15 minutes, which seemed very long for the amount of people 2. Ok I didn't want to put a star but I had to this place not only charges outrage prices for there food it's not very good quality I got a small fry n small soda for 12 bucks. The cheese was pathetic it was hardly melted and stuck to the top of the bun frustrated tasted freezer burnt every other fry. we had just been told how this was the best burger the individual had. the burger itself was the only thing good this place has going for it. the counter gal took probably 10 minutes before taking our order, after paying she'd said she'd get our drink straight away but was about 8 minutes till she got to that then AT LEAST another 6 minutes after till the burger and fries were done. the fries were a great cut but way over done and over priced for the portion, they lacked texture, flavor and everything else they should have. also, the "fry sauce" was awful, it was like a too sweet & tangy tarter sauce mixed with thousand island, i couldn't stomach it so i asked for ranch and BBQ sauce only to get charged 30 cents a piece, those sauces were good. for 15+ years i've wanted to try them and now i'm baffled, if they are normally this bad how have they stayed in business or did they just had an off day? if you want a great burger, fries and portions go to five guys. shasta burger down lake, alpine burger in burney is only second to the goat tavern in Mt.
