Very disappointed with our take out. The Mrs ordered the chef salad. Shocker I know, the lady getting the salad. Well first off it shouldn't come with a ton of shredded cheese. And cheddar at that! Thought she got a plate of unmelted nachos. The meats looked like they came out of the grandkids lunchables. Not the best quality, no boars head here. And they used white onions. Hello, supposed to be red onions for salad. Salad itself looks like it came out of a plastic bag. I got a small pie with half meatball and half sausage. The crust looked and tasted like a pre made crust. Think frozen pizza. Entire crust was uniform. Not one bubble or imperfection. You can tell this crust was not made by hand. The sauce was put on with an eye dropper. Little to no sauce. Cheese tasted pretty good. The meats had little to no taste. To add insult to injury they cut the pizza into little squares. Who does that? I've seen this before, this type of pizza. Hey fellas Ci C i's called and wants their pizza back. All in all very disappointed with this place. Certainly won't be coming back. It was ok. Nothing horrible to say about it (other than cutting the pizza in squares!), but really nothing superlative. We got a large pepperoni. It was well cooked, not abnormally greasy and had an average amount of toppings that had me wishing for a little bit more but not anything that made me feel like I was getting ripped-off. I wouldn't object if somebody said "let's go to Bellacino's!" But I probably won't be making a special trip myself. You won't leave unhappy so I'll recommend them - you just won't walk away going "damn, that is as one of the best pizzas ever." read more

There's something about Bellacinos crust that gives it a slight sweetness and it is SO good. We have gotten pizzas a few times from them and have always loved the flavor of their pies. I like their pizzas with more toppings since I think they have some really good combos. Love eating from here and they do both takeout and dine in. I cannot believe I have never updated this review, as often as we get pizza there. Let me fix that. For those looking for NY style street pizza, this is not it. Nor is it Chicago deep dish. What it is, is a great pie with lots of cheese and toppings and flavor and good crust. What it is, is among the best pizzas in the west end. And this store is definitely the most responsive to customer needs and the most dependable in the west end. Bellacino's has become the dominant go-to pizza or us for take out. The pizzas are very good, generous toppings and very generous with the cheese. They do cut the largest size (16") in a hatch pattern rather than in slices, so be aware that not every piece of a large comes with "outer crust.'' I like it this way. My partner always reaches for the outer pieces and leaves me the inners. Suits me! The kitchen is well staffed, so when they say 15 - 20 minutes it really will be in that window, probably early. And they are genuinely friendly. They smile. They thank you for coming. They have never ever screwed up my order. Read that again. THEY HAVE NEVER SCREWED UP MY ORDER. That alone is worth 5 stars for a pizza and sandwich joint, compared to most of the competition. The grinders remain very good. The sides are good, especially the parmesian garlic cheese bread and the french fries, which stay hot longer than any local fast food for reasons I cannot comprehend. (They always always are fairly hot when I get them home.) The salads are generous, if a little ordinary. This has become our neighborhood haunt, and we are glad they are nearby. read more

although the food is amazing the service was bad I came in 1/4/26 for an order I called in .. I was given awful stares as I came in he lady was very kind at the register as soon as I started speaking ppl were grinning at each other I paid grabbed my food and and turned to get my drink , it's when I turned that the whole kitchen laughed and made ugly comments I looked back in the kitchen and the one guy acknowledged that I heard . I've never been disappointed at Bellacinos! They have THE BEST Grinders in town! On a scale of 1-10 I give them a 10 for consistency. We have been dining here for well over 10years and the food is always good. Let's talk grinders. My go to is the Italian grinder. It's the perfect ration of meat and bread. Sometimes grinder shops are skimpy on the meat, but not here. What sets them apart is the sausage that they add to the I-talian! It's a great addition and elevates them to the next level. My Husband usually gets the Philly steak Chicago style. Bellacinos does have a dine in option. Old school pizzeria set-up, but I usually just order food to go. Our family has been here several times and we've always had a pretty good experience. The atmosphere is typical of a pizza and sub joint, nothing to write home about, just grab a pizza and a table and dig in. The subs are delish, they load up on the meat, cheese and fillings, and the sub rolls are soft but hold up well - it's the Italian sub for me! The pizza is good, pretty average but still a satisfying experience! The cheese and toppings are plentiful and the tomato sauce doesn't overwhelm the pizza. My fav is the sausage pizza! Delivered to our hotel room, two 8 inch pizzas and a Greek salad. Convenient and quick. The salad was my favorite part, there was such a generous amount of cheese and olives and peppers. Balsamic dressing, we (2 people) crushed this. If there is an option to add croutons, I would do that... 8 inch chicken Alfredo pizza was pretty flavorless. Lots of recommendations online for this flavor, but I'm not sure what the hype is all about. It lacked salt and garlic and essential cheese flavor for me. Chicken was nice though, just didn't get the Alfredo vibe. 8 inch Philly pizza was average, nice mushrooms. Wish there was crushed red pepper in the bag and some Parmesan cheese. Great meatball sub! The 9" (half) is plenty big and a great price! The bread is awesome after being toasted in the oven. The sliced meatballs are the best way to serve this sandwich and there is an abundance of melted cheese. I especially like the way they serve it to you (if you eat in) with it open so you can see how well it is made. I've only been there twice now and gotten the meatball sub both times but I would probably say all the sandwiches are probably gonna be great. The front end staff is very friendly. Imagine the scene; you walk into a pizza shop where red and green are as 90s and bold as ever. The carpet is a dark burgundy color and you have hanging stained ceiling fixtures. Indoor seating only. No frills, no thrills, just great food. This is located in the Broad street shopping center where Popeyes, Big Lots, and formerly Bon Chon was. Ordered a pizza with a BBQ base ( this isn't on the menu but they were able to provide this) and a Chicken Bacon Ranch Grinder (sandwich). Both were incredibly flavorful and simple which is a great duo. Customer service was 5/5 with no complaints here. I enjoy how it is convenient for this area and seems like they been around forever. It's advertised they create their bread from scratch and it doesn't taste like that's a lie. Would definitely order this for any pizza / sandwich craving. read more

I have been here a few times now. This story is just a little weird because the first time my girlfriend and I came to this restaurant was in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. There were other customers in the restaurant, including a family that were leaving as we sat down. I wouldn't say the restaurant was crowded though. The waitress arrived at our booth where we had been seated and opened her conversation with us by complaining about certain nationalities not tipping, completely unaware of the raised eyebrows and dropped jaws of the people she would be serving. We almost got up and exited then, but when she left us to look over the menu, we looked around the restaurant at the pictures of employees and decided that this is probably just that person's opinion (which she had no business stating to us, whatsoever). It left a very bad taste in my mouth before we had even eaten anything though. The restaurant itself was mostly quiet that afternoon, and comfortable to be in despite the unfortunate opening introduction by the waitress. I mentioned that I have been back a few times now. I have not seen that waitress there in the few times I have returned. The last time I ate there, the waitress we had was helpful, courteous and hilarious. The food and prices are good. They should really call the place "Salad, Pizza & Grinders". If you are looking for a salad, I highly recommend. The pizza and grinders are good, too, just not as good as the salads. Also, the chicken focaccia is acceptable for the price, but not as good as the pizza or the grinders...and Certainly not as good as the salads. read more

I guess you get what you pay for is the saying. $6 and some change for a 9inch steak and cheese grinder wasn't bad and all, as so I thought. My main issue and reason for my rating was the actual "steak" meat they used. I honestly didn't know what it was, seriously tasted like steak you would get from a fast food restaurant. It was horrible and literally tasted like rubber/plastic. The bread was crispy and they put mushrooms and uncooked peppers, you have the option for lettuce, tomato,onion, and mayo. Idk maybe the pizza is better but please save your taste buds on something besides the steak and cheese. I am a big fan of grinders and I was excited to try something closer to my house vs. driving downtown for a decent sub . Sadly, this didn't cut it! The dining area itself doesn't look like much and trust me I don't judge. Hole in the wall is my fav type of restaurant but the grinder just didn't do it for me. Great food and great service and we are lucky enough to live close by. But what people need to know about are the fries. I've looked at a bunch of reviews and pictures and I don't see any mention of them. They are truly amazing. Can they possibly be made with fresh, raw potatoes? They really taste like it. Amidst all of the other chains of Dominos, Papa John's, and Pizza Huts, there are some less well known chains. I've never heard of the chain (and didn't really realize it was one until I looked it up online), so I decided to try it out. --Food: I got an 8" personal pan pepperoni pizza. They didn't have slices available (unlike the generic Bellacino's menu online states), so I just settled with the smallest amount of pizza available. Given the price ($5), it was honestly pretty good! It's not a deep dish like other personal pans I've had, and the end crust was nice and crispy. I will say though (and someone else mentioned this), that they serve it on a normal plate that promotes moisture and makes the crust a bit soft around the 3rd piece. No huge offense as the end is still crispy, but it isn't ideal. --Cost: $4 for a cheese personal pan and then $1 for additional toppings. Not bad. The regular pizzas were comparable to Papa John's in price. --Atmosphere: They have a large sitting area with about 20 tables. The restaurant is extremely clean. The layout is a little confusing in that you walk in and walk down a long hallway, but aren't really sure if you're going the right way as there aren't any indications that you are supposed to do that. There are seats on both sides of said aisle. It's admittedly initially confusing, but comfy once you order and get situated. --Service: Once you order at the counter, they deliver your food to the table. It's sort of a fusion between sitdown and counter ordering. It works. The staff weren't unpleasant but weren't all that friendly either. --Overall: I came here expecting to give it a 3. However, Bellacino's actually holds it's own or is even better than the general subpar pizza in the West End. It's not excellent pizza. It is however a pretty decent pizza in a clean and spacious restaurant. Perhaps I'll change my mind later, but I was a fan and am going with a 4. I'd choose here over Papa John's or Dominos, so in terms of how well it fares against chains, I'd favor Bellacinos. Of course, nothing like good old fashioned pizzerias, but pizza beggars can't always be pizza choosers. read more

Went here with another family after a long day of field hockey. The teenage girls were starving and said they were craving pizza. I checked Yelp and this place seemed the best fit for the bill. Lots of good things to say about this place.. the service was friendly, the pizzas arrived quickly and the prices were decent. We ordered one plain cheese and one pepperoni pizza. The two girls thought the pizza was awesome and demanded that I give it 5 stars. My opinion was a bit less enthusiastic. The pizza was tasty but a little on the salty side. The crust and sauce were okay but rather typical. As a result, I will settle on 4 stars.... definitely worth a visit if you want a good basic pizza. I do have to say that the oven baked subs looked really good.. might have to try them if I am in the area ever again. read more
