So happy i found this place. What a little hidden gem with great tapas . Cozy chic spot. We started with arancini omg wanted to order more. So crusty outside and soft oozing middle. Also ordered crispy eggplant meatballs. If you didn't know u would swear they were meat. The marina is so amazing omg Had to order the ricotta gnocchi with pomodoro sauce. These are little pillows of light pillows. The sauce is so dam good and gnocchi was best i ever had We ordered the bellacosa pizza. Had prosciutto with truffle honey. The doe is super light but very crunchy. Prosciutto was imported and not over powering . I have to say i love how this place lets the ingredients sing instead of over spicing or too much sauce. The tables are well spaced, there's a full bar and the focus is on wine - a broad selection by the glass and bottles is available. Capable and attentive service. Came here on a weekend without a reservation, plenty of space. Dobbs Ferry is a really cute town and there is plenty of parking on the street and a small near by parking lot as well. This restaurant is very nicely decorated on the inside, feels pretty cozy, also has plenty of outdoor seating as well. We have not been to an Italian tapas place before and we were pretty excited about it. One side of the menu has all the tapas and the other side shows the main dishes. We got all tapas. Overall liked the place, a bit pricier than I would like for the quality of food we got, but still a pleasant experience regardless. We go the $30 charcuterie board, very pretty as you can see, it came with 3 kinds of hard cheeses, overall very satisfied with it. Some of the other dishes we got include the shishito peppers, gnocchi, meatball, beet salad, etc. We enjoyed our experience here and would recommend if you want some nice Italian food with a cozy setting. read more

On route for a weekend getaway, and found this little gem, so stopped in for a quick bite to eat, along with enjoying some wine. As someone who doesn't have much of a fondness for wine, I decided to experiment and try, since there is an option for a wine flight. Definitely enjoyed the whites more than the red, but that was on me, and my choice on the wines. Paired the wine flight with the charcuterie board, which I enjoyed the different cheeses, nuts, but especially the jam offered. Quiant local, connected to a pizzeria that is right next door, so a fresh pizza can be ordered. Came in a little after doors opened, so it was nice and quiet, with smooth music playing. My friend and I spent the greater part of the day shopping in Woodbury Common and had made dinner plans in Dobbs Ferry. We had finished early, so I whipped out Yelp to see if there was anywhere in the area that we could stop at for a drink. Bellacosa was one of the first hits - the excellent reviews and great pics made it a standout, so we decided to make our way to Dobbs and give it a try for some pre-dinner cocktails. Bellacosa sits on Main Street, which is one of the main commercial strips of Dobbs Ferry. They double as a restaurant and a pizzeria - the the right side is the traditional sit-down restaurant and the left side is a pizzeria with a few booths (separated by a wall). They have some outdoor seating, but we stayed indoors at the bar. It's not a big space but there's a good amount of tables, and the large windows at the front of the restaurant let a lot of sunlight in which brightened up the space. They have a selection of wine as well as signature cocktails and beer. I decided to get the Sicilian martini which was a vodka martini accented with orange and cranberry juices. The drink was good, smooth with just enough sweetness and tartness. We opted not to get food, but their tapas selection looked good and I would definitely consider trying them out if I returned. Service was great, the bartender was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Overall, even though I only had two rounds of drinks, I really enjoyed my time at Bellacosa. The friendly atmosphere and good variety of drinks make this a place I would definitely return to when I'm in the area again - like I said, I gotta try those tapas ;-) read more

We usually love this place, but our last experience - not as much. Freezing outside, the restaurant has a thick beautiful curtain at the front door that should have been closed on a nite like this, except when guests come in. It was partially open. We were seated near the door, and experienced cold drafts on our legs as we ate. We indicated this to the manager?/owner? standing there for reservations. Instead of closing it right away - he said, I am keeping it open for folks with reservations -- we can close it when they're done. OK, without questioning why he wouldnt close it between reserved folks, we put our coats over our legs. About 20 ms later, all the tables were full - and he went to the bar. The curtain remained open. Added to that, our female server did not appear to like her job. When asked what juices she had at the bar, she answered: just orange. We noted that cranberry and pineapple appeared to be in cocktails - and she changed her answer. She was not patient when we asked about gluten free options, and actually insisted that certain dishes were not gluten free - when we were quite sure they were. Ice cream, for instance? When she kept insisteing that it was not gluten free - we sent her to please ask the manager. She never came back, and then we had a new server who told us it was indeed g/f. Honestly, the food and ambiance here is great. We will give it another shot. But if they continue to treat their customers this way (it's not inexpensive food, btw), we won't be back. read more

And for the time it took, the food could have been better. This is "just another place", with a 3% surcharge for plastic. I've had chicken scarp all over the U.S. Last night's, BY FAR, was the worst. Little chunks of chicken with some sliced up cherry peppers over #8 spaghetti -- and no sausage. C'mon guys. At least TRY. Go to another restaurant and learn how it's done. My wife's eggplant parm made her sick in the middle of the night. My BIL's sausage and peppers was flavorless. My SIL's chicken marsala? She left half of it over. Never again. These guys don't know how to cook. And they need to hire more & better staff. Or, why bother? read more

What a gem!!! W found this place quite by accident... we are visiting from Vegas for a wedding in Tarrytown. The owner, Frank, is a delight!! Helped us select the perfect appetizers (meatball to die for... and the sauce?! I need it as a soup!) . I had the Sicilian baked ziti... so so good! My husband had chicken francese... omg! Exquisite! I had an Italian wine selected by Frank that was perfect and my husband loved his old fashioned. The ambiance is cozy and intimate. Service was attentive but not overbearing. I'm so glad I discovered this hidden gem! I went there for the first time today for lunch. We sat outside at a table enclosed by an ivy façade. We started off with the bruschetta and the orange fennel salad. The Fennel salad was cold crispy and perfect with the scallions and light vinaigrette. The bruschetta was so delicious, on the soft baked bread with crispy edges. The tomatoes were well infused with olive oil, a vinaigrette, garlic and fresh basil. It was probably the best bruschetta I've ever had. For an entrée, we ordered the shrimp scampi, and the wild mushroom truffle pizza. The shrimp scampi was very fresh and crisp, and the sauce was just garlicky and delicious. We couldn't stop dipping our bread in it. The pizza was very crispy on the edges, and loaded with fresh cheese and wild mushrooms. The truffle sauce infused the mushrooms and made this pizza sheer perfection. For dessert, we ordered the Zeppoli's and cappuccino mousse. The Zeppoli's were light and fluffy. So good! The cappuccino mousse had a crunchy nut crust with a light and airy coffee flavored mousse above it and was topped with chocolate ganache. It was heavenly! Our waitress was excellent, very attentive, and extremely efficient. My girlfriend enjoyed the wine, which was perfect for the meal. We had a wonderful lunch outside, and can't wait to return.
