I booked a last minute appointment with Van. I contacted her on a Tuesday to get a haircut on a Friday back in March since I had to attend a wedding the same week. Van was able to squeeze me in on a Friday afternoon but did state that her partner would assist. I went in during my appointment and had to wait 15 minutes. The place does get extremely busy so an appointment is highly recommended. I was greeted by Tay and Van. Tay brought me in for a hair wash and it was a very good wash. He scrubbed and massaged my head very thoroughly. After the hair wash, Tay took me to his chair and asked about what kind of haircut I would like. He recommended me to cut a U shape haircut since the ends of my hair is very thin and I don't like the V-Shaped haircut I got with a different stylist at another salon. I told him to make my hair ends look thicker and to not cut too much hair as I tend to like my hair longer. He cut my hair and Van checked the haircut and did any fixing that was needed. Both really work their magic. Tay is very attentive and fun to talk to. Both took their time and paid attention to the details, which made a big difference in the final result. The cut turned out exactly how I imagined--clean, fresh, and easy to style. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and professional, and I didn't feel rushed at all. This salon is located in a very busy plaza in the middle of Little Saigon, but there is a decent sized lot and people constantly coming and going, so parking wasn't too hard to find. The store itself is quite spacious with at least 8 salon chairs and 4 hair wash stations. I did a walk in for cut and color and was surprised they were able to get me in right away on a full, busy Saturday. The owner, Hong, was super sweet, greeting every guest with a smile and told me the cost ($150 for long hair) before I started my services. Mr. Tay did my cut and color and did a fantastic job! He was very attentive and listened to all my feedback to give me the cut and color I wanted-- and yes, he did only trim the amount I asked and not more (if you know you know).
