It's really sad when you think you found a decent place only for it to result in disappointment. I stopped by for a second haircut, the first time didn't go as well either but they had fixed it same day, so I thought why not give them a second chance. Keep in mind, I almost never go to a same place for a haircut just by the nature of trying out new places to get a cut. Immediately, the hair stylist asked for how short, and I said around shoulder length, and then she proceeds to just start cutting and trimming, no hair wash, no wetting of the hair. I just trusted the process and at one point, she asked me to stand which I did, and then she uses a razor to trim the bottom of my hair. Never have I ever had an electronic razor hair cut before - the only other question I was asked was U or V shaped, I said U, but I don't think my hair got layered, and it was super choppy and uneven. I thought for sure, this can't be the end of the cut, but it was. Again, I have never had my hair cut without a wash or someone spraying water on my hair. After the cut was supposedly over, I still wanted a hair wash, and was told to wait in the corner. Hair stylist starts attending another customer. Another person eventually washes my hair haphazardly - definitely was not a good experience, before I know it, the hair wash was also over, keep in mind, they tried to upsell a hair wash with massage and I said no thank you. Once the wash was done, my original hair stylist was already on her third customer. I sat in the chair holding up my wet hair in a towel, and waited patiently for someone to dry my hair. The stylist who washed my hair, came around and thought maybe I still needed a hair cut by the original stylist but then proceeded to blow dry my hair. Keep in mind, the original stylist has tried to straighten my hair when it was dry, and also when it was still very very wet! I felt like my hair was being damaged with the high heat of the blow dryer and the high heat of the straightener, and then after my hair was dry, there was no attempt at all to fix the choppiness of my hair. I'm not sure why I felt like I couldn't say something to ask for it to be fixed... but I just left feeling disappointed and probably will not return ever again. I'll have to find a new place to fix the cut that I got from this place. read more

I never realized how spoiled I was living in New York City, and I thought that the days of cheap haircuts were gone. I used to get haircuts for 5 bucks in Chinatown, but since being in Irvine, everything seems to be incredibly expensive. I don't blame them considering rent is expensive. Lo and behold, on a weekend we drove by here and saw the big banner outside saying that it was eight bucks for a man's haircut. No, I'm not saying that this is the best place, nor is it the worst. They do a good job with cutting hair for guys quickly. The place is pretty bare bones, but they do have plenty of stations in a few shampooing stations as well. I splurge and get my hair washed for an extra $3. Parking in the shopping center can be a little challenging, but they usually block off if you seats in front of the store with cones for their customers. read more

I've gotten everything from just a bangs trim, hair trim all throughout, super short mullet, to medium length wolfcuts. Im doing permanent hair straightening only. Thao is very professional. she did very good job. She also did for me before and my hair can keep up to 8 months still soft and straight. She is the best. Do not come here. I showed my hairstylist my pictures and said I just grew out my hair, I don't want any length cut off, just a trim and layers. She proceeded to laugh because she barely understood what I said and one of the other ladies said don't worry, she's the best she'll take care of you. And she turned my hair into a bowl cut that will take at least to December to grow out to the length I had it at. Lesson learned: do not go cheap on haircuts!!! read more

0 star if I could. $28 for hair cur And color as advertisement but I went in last week just for a color and she the owner Han Hoang told me the price would be $70. What a scam. I told her not to color near my scalp so I don't get irritated. After color my hair with a house painted brush (sloppy/lazy job), blow dry to only get the uneven hair colored. She tried to straighten out the uneven part to get the color right. But I refused cuz it only gonna damage my hair more. So she had to color my hair the 2nd time. As she putting more color on the uneven part, she kept rubbing on my scalp over and over. Like wtf. Just the worst experience. Ever. Got hair extension and she told me it's real hair. Nope. Plastic. Hair fell off right away after shower. $6/ fake hair strand. I asked for 10 strands only but she kept pushing for more strands so I felt like I was being pressured. So she ended up doing 20 strands pf fake hair extensions. Total $120 +$70. Please waste your money elsewhere. read more

Let me just say this: You get what you pay for. On 05/19/2024, I came here on a whim, wanting to cut off some split ends. I searched on Yelp for the cheapest place I could find that was near my house and open on a Sunday. After calling to make sure they were open, I arrived at the salon about 1-2 hours before closing and was ushered into a chair by a Vietnamese woman with glasses and short reddish hair. She did not speak or understand English. After I sat down, I tried to take mirror selfies to document my before-hair, which she got mad at. She complained to another woman with a sleek bob cut (probably her boss) in Vietnamese, which I can understand. I apologized and asked her to take photos for me, but she continued to grumble the whole time. After the photos, I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair to look and told her English-speaking boss that I wanted a cut that would make my face appear smaller. The woman instructed my hairdresser to cut my hair in face-framing layers. Without warning, my hairdresser roughly stuck a comb into my hair and started yanking it through from the middle to the ends with one hand. I thought she understood what I wanted, but then she asked "where I wanted her to cut." ????? She gave me a rough estimate guide with her fingers, asked if it was ok, then took a GIGANTIC portion of hair on one side and lobbed it off diagonally with a hair razor. The section was basically 1/4 my head of hair. I'm not a hairdresser, but I've had my fair share of haircuts and have NEVER seen anyone take a section that large and hack it off drastically that. I was cringing in my seat as she continued to grab random sections and yolo-chop them off without any thought or measurement. At the end of the haircut, she grabbed a flat iron and pulled it through my hair aggressively without using any heat protectant spray. After she straightened one lock, I stopped her and asked if she could skip the flat iron because I didn't want to hurt my already-bleach-damaged hair. She tried to argue with me, then told her boss that it was hard to communicate with me because my Vietnamese was not good. Despite my adamant protests, my hairdresser kept insisting that she flat iron my hair so that it would "look nice" and to "make the cut even." Her boss told her to flat iron it quickly to minimize damage. Once my hairdresser was done, I thought the cut looked alright. Boss lady came over to review and I could tell she was not pleased with the job. "You should have cut it like this to create this kind of shape, not like that..." My heart sank as I heard the criticism. My hairdresser was defensive, arguing with her boss that she did the haircut correctly, insisting that she could not have done it that way for X, Y, Z reasons. Based on my hairdresser's clear lack of knowledge and technique, I'm pretty sure her boss knew more about what she was talking about than she did. After that, she spent more time thinning out random sections of my hair, reducing my once-full locks to a choppy thinned-out mop. In my opinion, the length of the layers were all wrong, and I came out of the salon looking worse than I did when I came in. The boss tried to appease me by saying, "No, it's a good cut, don't worry, the curves are very flattering, your face looks smaller now," but I could tell from her previous comments that she didn't think my hairdresser did well. I left the salon feeling uneasy, but tipped anyway under pressure. I ended up going home and "fixing" my hair by chopping all the length off myself with a pair of scissors. Now I'm suffering with a bob that's too short, but at least it's better than the fire dumpster mess I Salon left me with. TL;DR: Do not go to this salon. I am giving it two stars only because of the cheap price. Please save yourself the frustration and heartache by investing in a more expensive cut. These people do not care about you; They just want to make a quick buck. They are not gentle or kind and do not know what they are doing (even though they think they do). Maybe I just got unlucky with this hairdresser -- The boss lady might've done a better job, but who knows. I repeat: You get what you pay for!!!!! read more
