While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I could have done it myself.

Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

The quality of the hair extensions themselves is absolutely beautiful, there's no denying that. However, I've truly never experienced such strange and uncomfortable customer service in the beauty industry. The woman who assisted me was completely silent throughout the entire interaction. She wouldn't answer my questions or offer any guidance, even though this was my first time purchasing extensions and I was eager to learn about length, color, and care. The entire experience felt cold and awkward, like pulling teeth just to get basic information. I left feeling more confused than when I walked in, and honestly, pressured into making a purchase I wasn't confident about. The product is still unopened because I'm not even sure it's the right color or length for me, and it's too expensive to take that kind of risk. I'll be returning the extensions and visiting another provider who can help me find the right fit with a little more warmth and professionalism. It's such a shame, the product is lovely, but the service completely missed the mark. read more

I have been a Bellami fan and client for over 10 years now and the service I received today by Rose Mione and the rest of the staff when I walked into the store has by far exceeded my expectations. I would normally only visit the store to purchase extensions, but this time around , I decided to put my hair in Roses hands and install semi permanent extensions by her at the store . Let me tell you that Rose is a true ARTIST! She is very professional and Excellent at what she does. And has ALOT of patience! Rose added custom highlights to my sew in extensions and also added a layered look that completely blended everything together. Jessica's name was at the top of the list, and I was definitely enticed by all of the amazing reviews. Long story short, Jess responded to my inquiry right away, and I attended a free consult. She is absolutely lovely in person - very compassionate and really took the time to listen to my story and to find the perfect solution for me. Her dedication shines through, and she has tons of samples to try on. I ended up going with the topper and long extension set, and I'm not overstating it when I say it's the single best thing I've ever purchased in terms of improving my looks and confidence. I feel beautiful with these on - my hair looks thick, healthy, and most importantly, real. Friends have remarked that my hair looks great, but not one has given me a sideways look or asked if I was wearing extensions. It really looks like the hair I had before I lost so much of it. If you're thinking about it, do not hesitate - Jess is absolutely the best and is worth every cent (and her prices are extremely reasonable). I was a little worried that I'd be able to pull it off (I am relatively low maintenance) but Catherine worked with my patiently to answer all my questions and to make sure I was happy with the way it looked. It had been ten years since I had them last and I was a little bit traumatized by the experience of getting them out, as it had left my hair horribly broken and damaged. That said, they were done with synthetic hair. Real hair makes all the difference with the extent of damage to your own hair. Catherine only uses high quality hair and is an expert with weft extensions (in the past, I had pinch braid style). She works out of Uliana Hair Studio these days, a lovely salon in the East Village (I reviewed it separately). You go in for a consultation and discuss options, which include tape, sew-in or halo (non permanent). I went for sew-in as I wanted something semi permanent. My wedding was several months away and I wanted to get used to this hair thing before then. If you choose this method, you need to go in and get it maintained every 4-6 weeks to keep it looking good. The hair is so seamlessly blended with your own that you will forget that you don't actually have that perfect, thick long hair! It's so natural that you'll get more of the, "wow, your hair has grown so long" types of compliments. When I'd tell people that they were extensions, they couldn't believe it. Man, I wish my hair was this thick and healthy! I've had thin, lousy hair since I was like 11. Years of dying, flat ironing and blow drying hasn't done it any favors either. Prices are extremely fair in comparison to other salons, not only in NYC but across the country. Yes, this is an investment, but you pay for quality. It was worth it. I decided after my wedding that the sew-ins and the necessary maintenance weren't for me anymore. Catherine made my 2 wefts into a halo that I wear occasionally (OK, rarely. I've been digging the easiness of my shoulder length hair, especially in winter when long hair keeps getting caught in coats and scarves). Note that my hair was not really damaged at all after having the extensions in for 7 months. Incredible. Catherine is awesome. I appreciated that she was willing to work with me and what I needed as far as the length and thickness of the extensions (initially they were a bit too "much" for me, so she shaped them up and thinned them out a bit). I enjoyed talking to her and getting to know her on each of my visits. Oh and she is also great when it comes to dying your hair!

Michelle completely solved that for me. This is, without question, the most seamless, elevated, lived-in blonde I've ever had--and I've tried multiple stylists over the past 4 years living in NYC. After hours of meticulous color work, Michelle then moved into installing my k-tip extensions. I'm not the easiest candidate for extensions since I already have a lot of natural hair, which meant she had to install a significant amount to ensure the added length still felt full and blended. She approached it with so much patience and attention to detail, and the result is stunning. The extension color matches my natural/lived-in tone perfectly. What really set Michelle apart, though, was the level of care beyond the chair. She took the time to educate me on extension-safe products--from serums to mousses to hairsprays--and even sent me home with extension-safe shampoo, conditioner, and hair oil so I could start off on the right foot. She also followed up with links to the proper brushes and tools to use. That level of thoughtfulness is rare. The entire experience felt like something you would expect at the highest-end salons in the city--yet at a price point that actually felt attainable and realistic for me. That alone is almost unheard of. I also felt genuinely listened to throughout the entire process. Michelle didn't just do what she thought was best--she created an open dialogue, really hearing my preferences while guiding me with her expertise. I had consulted with other stylists about extensions over the years, but she was the first person I felt completely confident trusting with my hair. I could not recommend Michelle more highly. I'm so grateful to have found her and truly look forward to working with her for the foreseeable future.

I used hairstylist language and she didn't know what I was talking about. They do not specialize in servicing people of color. Then told me she charged 350 an HOUR! Anyone who really gets their hair done knows between the braid down and sew it it's at least 3 hrs not including the styling. I would totally understand if they didn't specialize in the service I was looking for but the fact they said they did and gave that price is upsetting. However I was pleasantly surprised how warm she was and loved my result. She did talk to me throughout the process so I can know what products she's using and how to style it. She made sure to hold a mirror up and taught me how to use the product in my hair. Unfortunately wash n gos aren't easy hairstyles on kinky hair. But I loved my result and plan to come back again. This is a great first step in learning how to properly care for your curls. I wish they did more natural hairstyles.
