We were visiting Savannah and decided to give Bella's a try. Hostess was friendly We loved the bread service. My husband had chicken parm with ziti on the side. The ziti side was the perfect amount. Too many places give a huge side of pasta with a small main to make it look like a large servicing. The chicken parm was thick and wasn't hidden under pasta, which my husband appreciated. I had pizza. It was good. It definitely seemed bigger than 10 inches but I loved the thicker crust. I did find their sauce on the sweet side but it was good. Service was lukewarm. She wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. We would return the next time we are in Savannah. read more

Excellent service on a quiet Sunday evening in Savannah so we were fortunate to get a table right away. We ordered our drinks, red wine if course and enjoyed the warm bread sticks with Alfredo and marinara dipping sauces. For dinner we ordered the pasta Alfredo and added broccoli. So rich and flavorful and chunk full of broccoli. Yummy. We also ordered the night's special, a creamy red sauce one angel hair pasta with chicken. Really delicious sauce. The ambulance here is perfect and we were able to enjoy a leisurely meal on a stormy Savannah evening. A favorite spot and we'll definitely return. read more

If you're looking for authentic Italian food, this is the place to go! Bella's is a hidden gem in the midtown restaurant scene. It definitely has that "Old World" feel with Terracotta tile floors and low light ambiance. It's fairly small and tends to fill up quickly, so if you have a party larger than 4 I suggest making a reservation. My personal favorite dish is the Manicotti, but everything here is delicious. The decor of this place reminds me of an old Italian restaurant you would see in a movie. The food was good but the service was so so. We started with the bread sticks, just incredible, very light and fluffy. They were my favorite part of the meal. My wife had a ten inch pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. I had a slice an I really liked it. As for me I had chicken parmesan dinner, it was served with an appropriate sized side of penna pasta. The chicken was perfectly cooked and other then the sauce being a bit sweet, it was very good. We were too full for dessert. We would definitely eat here again. read more

This place is a little bit of a surprise from the front. It doesn't look like much but when you get inside, it's a nice little Italian restaurant with good food good service and a nice comfortable ambience. It's a little bit pricey, but I think worth the food you get. read more

Our server was very kind. However the food was very mediocre. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken didn't have much flavor and the salad that came with it was just awful. I couldn't even eat it. The lettuce had a very bad taste and the dressing wasn't good. The lasagna and spaghetti were just fine but nothing that blew us away. The only thing that was very good were the garlic cheese curds. This place is a solid four stars! Let me start with the good: all of the food we ate was spot-on delicious. The chicken broccoli Alfredo looked a little different than the traditional version but was very tasty. The cheese tortellini was a little too cheesy for our liking, so we wouldn't order that again. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the shrimp scampi with pasta was absolutely delicious. The breadsticks they bring out at the beginning are very tasty, and each meal comes with soup or salad. Both soups we tried--the bean and meat, and the tomato--were excellent. The salad, however, felt a little weak and could use some improving, and the dressing wasn't great. For dessert, we had the limoncello--sweet but very good. Now for the reasons I deducted a star: when we walked in on a Saturday evening, we stood at the host stand for about 5-8 minutes before anyone came to seat us. A simple acknowledgment like "we'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. The place was super busy (understandably so, given how good the food is), but it isn't very big, and you could tell the staff was hustling to keep up. The cadence and timing of when food came out also felt a little off. Overall, though, this is a solid Italian restaurant that I would definitely return to. Just a heads-up: parking is limited. For four of us, including four entrées, the total was $175. They have low dinner lighting, table are a tight fit. read more

When we arrived a little before 5 there was already a line at the door so I knew it had to be good. I had the manicotti, my husband had the veal and my mother-in-law had the eggplant. Our waiter was very attentive and kind. It was a cute restaurant with candles on the tables and cafe feel. I had chicken Alfredo and it was so-so. It did come out hot and fast! My husband got the lasagna and I had a bite of it and it was very very good! I wish I would've gotten that! The salad that came with our meal was ehh. This had a dressing I've never heard of with no other choices. Parking: there are a few spots out front of this restaurant in the plaza. This was our restaurant of choice during the Pandemic. They have a nice open-air front patio. This was our first time eating inside. There were two rooms. One that had low lights and an Italian looking floor with a mixture of tables and booths. Laid back atmosphere playing 40's music Hear one of my Dad's favorite songs, Stardust. We had Baked Ziti with sausage. Our other order was a, Chicken Parm. The bread sticks were fantastic. Everything was spot on. Also ordered a glass of Chianti that went well with the meal. The bread sticks were really good and so was the chocolate cake at the end. Wait staff was very nice since they had to stay open past their closing time due to how many people were still inside. We had a very upsetting experience this week. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, we were abruptly refused service because the hostess decided we were "not nice enough." Instead of seating us, she sent a text saying we would no longer on the wait list that evening. We have been regular customers at Bella for many years -- dining in, ordering takeout, and supporting the restaurant consistently. Our only "offense" was politely asking if we could wait inside for our table. Thank you, Bella's Italian Café, for unintentionally sending us to Ardsley Station, where we had an excellent dinner and were treated with genuine hospitality. I tried Bella's Italian Cafe based on a recommendation from a local -- and I am SO glad I did. Everything that we had was so fantastic. The other half had the Baked Ziti in a Pesto Cream, while I was a bit basic and had their Fettuccini Alfredo. Honestly speaking, though, I could have sat at the table all night eating their breadsticks. Some of the best Italian offered in Savannah! I often get the wood fired pizza, and it is always super fresh, with the perfect cheese to crust ratio. The complementary bread sticks are TO DIE for with their homemade herb butter and marinara. The house salad also has the best dressing, I wish they sold it by the bottle. In Savannah for a few nights and as usual we tried to find places that the locals frequent. We found a gem with Bella's Italian Cafe, serving the community for over 30 years. Our server, Corinne C, made us feel at home and was helpful in taking our order with suggestions. Our group of three ordered baked ziti with sausage, eggplant Parmesan with angel hair pasta and chicken parm with ziti. The bread sticks with both marinara and butter dips, along with our entrees made for a fantastic & fun dinner. Stopped in for on impromptu date night this evening. We were greeted and seated straight away. Chad was very attentive with spot on recommendations when trying to decide between the many tempting dishes. The breadsticks were a perfect texture delight with a light crispy crust and soft center. I'm not sure which was better, the herb butter or marinara! Lovely crisp house salad with light dressing and manicotti. Finished by sharing the lemon cello cake with blueberry compote. Bella's is our favorite spot! Whenever we come to Savannah we always go to Bella's to meet up with friends! You have to get there right before they open or plan to wait because everyone knows this is THE PLACE TO GO! When we have had to wait, the timing was accurate. The hostess was pleasant and we sat at a booth. The waiter (we've had several times) has always been very attentive- always making sure drinks were filled, breadsticks kept coming, salads came out right away... Even though my husband does NOT like Italian type dressings, he does like this one! They do not have options for dressings but I like the creamy vinaigrette dressings. We have had lasagna, alfredo, and ravioli and so far the ravioli is our favorite- well besides the breadsticks and herb butter. The breadsticks practically melt in your mouth and could fill up on just those! The ambiance is darker and quaint so it's good for couples but still casual for those with a family. The service was perfect timing- long enough to talk and enjoy your salad and breadsticks but not so long you are wondering where your food was. The food was always hot and freshly made. First of all, the overhead lighting consisted of spot lights directed in the faces of customers. Group of four seated next to me moved tables because the light was directly in one couple's eyes. Ordered a pepperoni pizza with a small house salad. Lettuce was brown .....didn't expect much in terms of the pizza (tough to find good pizza south of the Mason-Dixon line) but their version really was not good. Proprietors obviously don't know that pizza is not made with spaghetti sauce. Crust was ok but nothing special. Pepperoni topping was ample and standard. Waitress was very attentive. Place was busy on a Tuesday night in early March. Maybe their Italian dishes are tasty but their pizza certainly isn't. read more

This family owned business is one of the best Italian places I have eaten. Homemade recipes by the owners grandmother. These delicious recipes have been used for decades! That's how you know the food here is fantastic! My husband and I went on our anniversary weekend and decided to order too much food, lol! But absolutely percent worth it! Everything we had was superb! We ordered a sampler appetizer, eggplant parmesan, steak, salad, soup, and sangria. And can't forget the bread they served when we first arrived. The sauce served with bread fully of chunky juicy tomatoes! And not to mention the bread itself, such soft pillowy cloud like fluff. The main meals so very delightful! Such blissful satisfying flavors all on one bite! Savoring every moment while taking bite after bite! Never getting tired of the taste of Italy. What a satisfying dinner it was. Unfortunately, we were unable to finish all the food we ordered but that just ment we got to have seconds when we got home. Great little restaurant with excellent Italian food. I didn't love the breadsticks but everyone else in our party of nine definitely did! Service was friendly and fast. I don't know what the salad dressing was but it was SO good...I would have bought a bottle to take home. Most of us enjoyed the chicken Parmesan. I had the eggplant parm. Two had the tortellini and there was nothing left in their dish! Sadly no one wanted dessert so I can't speak to that. The side dishes of pasta with the chicken and eggplant were quite small and nothing special. Honestly not even necessary as the main entrees were so good! Warning that parking is quite a challenge....side street parking is the only option if you don't get lucky with a spot in front. We will definitely return when we are back in Savannah. read more
