What a perfect and great place to go have a quiet dinner. I ran into this restaurant by a simple GPS search and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service. By expressing myself on this restaurant to say the whole experience was phenomenal, it is not saying enough. The waitress and the rest of the staff service was as professional and truthful as I've ever seen in the last years. The food was Superb, the atmosphere was serene, the whole experience was very attentive and top notch. To be honest, I was somewhat disappointing to see that such authenticity of a place was a bit empty for a Saturday night, considering the great service Bellatrix offers. Although in its own defense, I was there for Dinner quite early for a Saturday night, due to other arrangements I had following dinner. Should you care to know, I was out of there by 7pm, just to be mindful of a typical Saturday nightlife which on most cases begins after 8 or 9. I will definitely go back and dine whenever opportunity allows, as I was just out of town for the weekend and dining in more often than not wouldn't really be a regular option. read more

We decided on Bellatrix for our Christmas Eve dinner out, as our first choice in the area did not have any available reservations, and we were trying to be as equidistant as possible between La Quinta and Palm Springs. I did not go in expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. My friend and I each had the halibut and enjoyed it; our husbands had the filet mignon and it was one of the best prepared I'd tasted in awhile. My daughter is a vegetarian and while there were no vegetarian options on the menu, they were happy to prepare a veggie ladened pasta that was very good. Other fare included crab cakes - Maryland style, no breading - yummy. I enjoyed the Fahey salad, while I didn't have any, the ceasar looked like pretty standard fare. Garlic fries were good, but could have used a little more garlic. The service was attentive and we felt well-taken care of with two servers for a party of 9. read more

My husband and I visited this restaurant while on our anniversary get-away this year. We purchased a Groupon that was worth $80 and we just about spent it all. I had the Shrimp Alfredo dish and my husband had the BBQ Short Ribs. We both enjoyed our meals; presentation was good and I also liked the fact that the portion size was equivalent to the small but adequate french portion size (Prevents Glutton). The view of this restaurant was Amazing! Unfortunately we were there during a pretty humid month (October); so the outside balcony was a little uncomfortable around 5:30/6 pm but it was nice as the night moved on. The drinks were good and a nice size. Lastly we tried the infamous buttermilk donut cake and it was pretty sweet and rich for me; which is very sweet because I am definitely a lover of sweets! What a surprise to find this gem in the middle of COVID. Dined last evening on a spacious patio with linens and candles and had terrific rack of lamb cooked to perfection and Chicken Pappardelle in Boursin cream sauce. Was our favorite until a few weeks ago. Made a 6:30 reservation looked at the wine list and asked for a taste. "we charge a 1.00 for a taste" indicated didn't want people drinking on "them". So we ordered a bottle and upon taking our first sip. We were told we had to order "NOW" as the kitchen closes at 7pm. This is on a Saturday evening!!! Why take a reservation if you are trying to toss out the guest by 8pm. Food was still good but service was really rushed. Clearly there is a management problem and the staff is trying to deal with the lack of focus on the customer. We are full time residents in the valley and doubt we will ever return. I was here for lunch with a group of about 30 people yesterday and was blown away by the beautiful view in the private room that we had AND the food wasn't bad either! Bellatrix is located in Palm Desert on this beautiful golf range and is absolutely gorgeous, classic and top notch. We had a buffet style lunch which featured a mixed greens salad, chicken, beef, rolls, and for desert they had butterscotch-chocolate-coconut gooey bars (I don't know the formal name for this) and lemon bars along with chocolate chip cookies and white chocolate chip macadamia cookies. The tables had white linen on them and the staff were all very professional and attentive. Our visit was a party of nine (9) in celebration of my wife's birthday (no telling which one). From the valet parking, to being greeted by the Food & Beverage Manager, to the drink service, to the table service, to helping us out with family photos... Not one member of staff was anything less than excellent. The food was exquisite, well prepared and presented, and at the perfect temperature. Our entrees ranged from pasta to steaks, yet everything came out together and on time. I requested a potato side dish not on the menu - their response was "of course, sir". Two of our party were vegetarians - not an issue. Bottom line, the evening was perfect. All our needs were attended to and we were not rushed at any time. Staff was helpful, their recommendations were right on target. Did I mention the early evening view across the Classic Golf Course to the distant desert mountains...? Unbeatable! Thank you Bellatrix. We went to Bellatrix for dinner before the McCallum's production of Cabaret. It was our first time but certainly will not be the last! The setting is gorgeous and the dining room is welcoming, not stuffy. We had shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. These were four prawns, just huge, served with a spicy cocktail sauce with the right amount of horseradish. My scallops were nice-sized and cooked to perfection. My partner's salmon was also delicious. One minor criticism is that the salmon could have been a bit larger portion. Throw in a half-baked macadamia nut cookie with Haagen-Dazs and you've had a great meal. The waitstaff was on point. Our water glasses never went below half full and we received just the right amount of "checking in." We're looking forward to our next visit already! read more

Very good service. Food terrible, after playing golf on a very nice golf course,I decided to have lunch. My three friends said no to lunch at the Bellatrix. I received a fifteen dollar pay voucher for playing golf there. And received another voucher from a friend who played golf there,But did not eat there. I ordered a chicken sandwich to eat there, and Maui tuna to go. The chicken sandwich came on a very,very hot plate. Yes a plate that came out of a microwave. I tried this restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve n I don't think I am going back again. The server was nice but they had her all over the place n she was unable to give good service. Our food came up before the bread n butter got to the table. My short ribs stew had so much salt n the reason I didn't sent it back is I couldn't get a hold of anyone. I finally tracked down so called manager. He looked n behaved more like a busboy than a shift manager. He gave 18 different reason why the excessive salt was not his responsibility, it's the owners, the foundation n etc... n he was dumb enough to say that dish was everybody's favorite n also his wife lectures him about healthy eating as well.He better be ready when the older customers get sick n have a heart attached. Sunset view of the Mountains, gourmet food, attentive service. Another "Yelp" find for us. This is located outside Palm Springs as part of a golf club but what a treat! We dined on the outdoor patio with a view of the mountain range at sunset! That alone was worth coming for. We had the salmon and grouper - both were very fresh, light but delicious seasonings and sauces. Salad was perfect, and dessert - well, half-baked white choco chip cookie and ice cream?? nothing more to say about that but MMMMMMmmm... Paula, our server, was a delight - very helpful with wine pairing suggestions, conversational but never intrusive. Just finished dinner on the patio. Yes, the view is beautiful with the golf course and mountain back drop. The staff seemed less than happy. They were friendly enough just not inviting. Dinner was good but not exceptional, especially at this price point I had the grouper. I spent some time waiting to order , between courses and the bill. We had s party of 6 on the patio on March 13 Wanted a happy hour menu but were told no happy hr on Sun or Mon so we all settled for the lunch menu..food was fair not the best but edible Told waitress to split the bill 3 ways and confusion ensued! She went in some sort of la la land didn't know what she was doing.. our bill got mixed up with another table and came to us totally off the mark..we told her to go figure it out and bring us the proper bills Didn't see her for at least 15 min She brought back again the improper bills and around we go again . Finally about 45 min later our bills still were not right but close enough as we were running out of time I kind of felt sorry for but she should have sought managerial help.. We had a superb dinner at Bellatrix. I had New York Steak and it was great. It was cook to a perfect medium rare, not over-cooked like it is many places. the accompaniments were also perfect. Service was first rate with a pleasant dining room and a spectacular view of the mountains behind the golf course. Not cheap, but an excellent choice for special occasions. After becoming lost using the yelp map, I finally looked it up by name in my smartphone navigation and found this delightful restaurant. So happy I persisted in finding the correct location! Spectacular views and impeccable service accompany the delicious and creative menu. From the expertly mixed cosmopolitan martini to the perfectly cooked medium rare flat iron steak which was served with baby veggies, mashed potatoes and a cabernet glaze and ending with a super yummy caramel cheesecake, my meal could not have been better! Our group of Four women (over the ages of 55), took our beer out on the patio to "cheer" life. 5 minutes later we went back to our table only to find the manager cleared our table. He was upset with the waitress and did not appear to be happy with her are us. I personally went to talk to him and asked him not to be so upset with our waitress. He said she wasn't in trouble, she should have told us to leave our drinks. The patio was closed to dinning only because it was very windy. Our waitress went on break because she was too upset to continue after being reprimanded. He was totally unprofessional and we felt so badly because we did this on our own accord. The drinks that were left at the table were cleared and we had to re-order. I don't care to go back. We tried to repair our damage but the manager in my opinion was mean spirited and unforgiving. read more

My mom and I tried this place for an early lunch on a Sunday a few weeks ago. She had a chicken salad and I tried the meatloaf. The salad was very good and the potatoes, wine gravy, and vegetables were wonderful but the meatloaf itself was not tasty and was partially burnt. This is actually a review of the management from the catering department. The affairI attended was a Sunday morning Brunch..an 85th Birthday celebration for my cousin.. The actual affair went off smoothly, nice selection good food service was fine. The morning was lovely until I requested the large amount of leftovers be packed and I would deliver them to the out of town guests to enjoy, notifying my cousin I was doing so. I was told it was against health codes to do so as they couldn't control the care of the food. After checking with the state of California and verifying this not to be factual I called the head of catering Ms Charlsie.. I went over the scenario of the left overs to be told it was against "their policy" to pack food although there were several no shows an extreme amount of food left ( all paid for for the over 60 people). When I pressed Charlsie she proceeded to HANG UP on me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt of possibly being disconnected but again NO RESPONSE! An apology for the misunderstanding was in order and possibly a dinner credit for my cousin Should have been the least Charlsie offered. Instead a nasty "tone" and a hang up. As a local resident this disrespect and unprofessional response certainly has left a very bad taste in my mouth towards the entire Classic Club... There are lots of lovely locations here and now there is one less for me to EVER consider.. read more

The dishes were excellently prepared and presented!! The wine was perfect 2007 California Chardonnay. Sea bass with vegetables spaghetti was a dream!!! Newyork steak was great the cauliflower mashed was yummy but the on the side sauce was not that good as you expected. All in all great tasty romantic dinner with great ambiance!!! One of the best restaurants in The Desert! They are located away from the usual haunts. Very beautiful surroundings. Calm atmosphere . The service is great !! Oh, and the food is spectacular. It looked almost too good to eat. If you want something special, try going here. It's worth the short drive . You can tell a lot of care and planning goes into the menu and preperation.
