Calling all seafood lovers! This charming restaurant takes you as you are whether you're in casual or formal attire which is great in the summertime. It's easily in the triple digits out here so i was wearing shorts and flip flops and we were not turned away. Our waiter Winston was kind and attentive and gave great recommendations. They start you off with warm sourdough bread and butter, which is complementary. Our drinks arrived. We ordered a cucumber spritz and a Long Island both were made to perfection. We ordered the grilled octopus, scallops and a half order of the Sea bass. The octopus was so tender and tasty! The scallops were cooked to perfection and the sea bass was full of flavor. This restaurant is a roof top restaurant on El Paseo. It's beautiful. The food is outstanding and so is the service. We ordered the shrimp pasta and salmon with mashed potatoes. Over the Father's Day weekend, my family and I dined at Pacifica Seafood Restaurant, and we absolutely loved it! We had reservations, and although our table wasn't ready immediately, the host sincerely apologized for the slight delay. We didn't mind at all since we had arrived early, and the staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. Our server was amazing...friendly, attentive, and very helpful to our family throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious! Every meal was prepared perfectly, and that's saying something because there were no leftovers, we ate every bite. From the excellent service to the outstanding food, this was a wonderful Father's Day celebration. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Pacifica to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Palm Desert! read more

First time, but definitely will not be the last time from the moment we arrived. They greeted us and seated us promptly. Our waiter Winston was amazing. My husband ordered the short beef ribs and let me tell you the food was delicious!!! My lobster tails were huge that was so unexpected and then they gave us a birthday cake ice cream, which was delicious. I will can't wait to return. So after 9 years, went back not knowing we were here before. Was sort of pressed for time and other places were full so was happy to be seated immediately outside with a view of the strip (an excellent table). Was going to order some of the entrees but our waiter steered us towards the appetizers since it was still Happy Hour so we went with his recommendation and had 3 types: Poke Nachos - generous portion of wonton chips, fried nicely but unfortunately very little poke present. Seabass Ceviche- another well presented plate but couldn't really find any of the fish. Fish Tacos- an ok attempt with a better portion size of fish but still more condiments then protein. Overall I felt that spending more than $50 (no drinks) for chips and tortillas was a little disappointing....however service was excellent except for the recommendation. read more

Delightful dinner spot in the heart of Palm Springs. We were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful deal that the Sunset Special offered: $27 for an appetizer and entree from a set list! Such a good deal! I got the Caesar salad and chicken breast. The salad was perfectly fresh with real anchovy, which really made it a sold authentic dish. The chicken breast was huge and well seasoned. There was also table bread and an extensive dessert menu which we skipped this time but will explore next time. While visiting really enjoyed this dinner. Was nervous about trying oysters in the desert but Pacifica served up some of the best oysters I've had in a long time. Also, the sea bass was perfect consistency - flaky crust & so soft on inside with delicious coconut curry sauce - the half order was perfect size for me. Fiance loved oysters Rockefeller too - octopus app wasn't our favorite but was still good. Main thing I would reccomend is to jazz up the drinks more. Great food, service, and ambiance. First and foremost the seafood stew was spectacular, I mean the depth of flavor without being overly salty or heavily seasoned. The fish, scallop, shrimp, and mussels were perfectly cooked. I had a little problem getting the lobster tail out of its shell, but still delicious. I was surprised that they didn't serve it with griled bread, I can't complain, we had so much of the sour dough. My wife had salmon caesar salad that was good with anchovie. The clam chowder was delicious and the sweet potato soup was good but needed a little bit more butter or cream. Overall, a great experience and it was great idea getting there early for seating. For a Sunday evening it was packed. They have outdoor seating as well, which was very popular. Our server was fantastic and was very sweet and kind. We did have a problem with the busser or buss boy, can't call them that anymore. He accidentally broke a wine glass from table next to us. It got very close to my leg and feet, it was a miracle that no glass shards stuck me. Anyway he apologized profusely and was careful. We really enjoyed our meal and wine glasses. They are known for there sweet salmon and Chilean seabass. The wine selection is huge and is avaliable on a tablet. The server suggested Cloud Nine a Pinot Noir and a Chandon Rose Sparking. Although the restaurant facility is quite nice, The waiter was pleasant and attentive I was sorely disappointed with the sea bass I ordered. The presentation was beautiful. However the taste of the fish was bland. The accompanying vegetable (bokchoy) was unbelievably tough. I couldn't cut it easily with my knife. The ambience and service is great I hope it's an isolated case but we ordered the two lobster tails and it was extremely salty, as seniors we can't eat a whole meal on our own so we always share dishes with appetizers and like to enjoy small bites with cocktails, everything was perfect except for the main course which was supposed to be the highlight, instead it was disappointing. The best oysters I've had in ages! Perfect little ones that slid perfectly in my mouth and a chili vinegarette sauce & horseradish that was the cherry on top. Upstairs, outdoor patio with white table cloth seating overlooking Paseo drive, creates a great ambiance. In late December, it felt like summer up there with all their outdoor heaters cranked up. Pacifica has great ambiance and decent enough food, however, the AWFUL service ruins the entire dining experience. The hostess was lukewarm at best, and the man who seated us was curt and condescending when we requested an inside table because it was unseasonably warm. Our waitress wasn't outright rude, but she wasn't exactly friendly either. We experienced this same attitude from the other staff we encountered. I do think it's important to note that they were not at all busy at this time. Finally, the menu is extremely limited and this is not fine dining whatsoever, so the food is way overpriced for what it is. I would NEVER return or recommend Pacifica to anyone. I started with the octopus starter. I took 1 bite and had to spit it out. It was way too salty. I passed it to my wife and she typically eats anything. She took 1 bite and passed it back. So we told our waiter and sent it back. For my main dish I ordered the chicken breast. It was so small everyone at the table thought it was a thigh. Anyway my chicken was dry and had no seasoning. My sides were no better. I'm not going to these below average restaurants and paying a lot of money. I'm eating at home. read more

Finally got the opportunity to check out Pacifica after spending years driving by on El Paseo. Thanks to restaurant week. I was reminded of this spot and took the time to take myself out on a solo date. I called ahead to make sure I could get a table for one. The manager was extremely sweet and told me that was no problem. Arrived on time and was seated immediately at a balcony overlooking the El Paseo Street. Disclaimer it was very warm this day peeking at 100° however being a desert rat I was ready for it and will sacrifice AC for a little bit of a view this time. But if you are not used to this weather, I recommend requesting to be seated inside. The tasting menu featured a starter plus main entrée finished with a dessert. I arrived also during happy hour and was recommended a Mojito by my amazing server. She even put in a custom request for extra lime and grapefruit since I was feeling a little more zesty than usual and the weather was hot. Throughout the experience, my service was 10 out of 10 perfect with extremely tentative staff. My water glass never got lower than half full, and I was checked on regularly by not only my server but also what I imagine was a manager. Now, for the reason to knock off a star. I had the highest of hopes for this meal and the Caesar salad was very tasty as a girl who loves her fish. Personal preference I will ask for lighter on the dressing next time, however no complaints there. For my entrée, I ordered the shrimp over rice, which came out a little less pretty than expected and appeared to be dry and overcooked however, I was determined to enjoy my meal. But much to my disappointment all of the shrimp were quite overcooked and extremely tough. The dish was well seasoned, and it looks like they put a lot of thought into it however I must admit I was disappointed and expected better from a seafood restaurant. I think my face showed how I felt as I was immediately checked by one of the managers on my meal if everything was OK. When I explained my issues, he was very apologetic and even offered to get me a new dish. I didn't want to waste anything, since I knew, I could take my leftovers home and my boyfriend would probably not notice once I reheated it. However, I know that for some people this would be an immediate no fly zone. When my server stopped by again, she offered me another entrée to replace the dry shrimp, but I told her it was as okay since I was mostly full and would rather just enjoy dessert. The Keylime pie was absolutely sublime, pun intended. However, here was my second issue of the date. Nearing the end of my Keylime pie. I noticed a strange gray gelatinous item on my plate. At first, I thought it was a piece of plastic, but upon further inspection, I was told it was a piece of onion that had mysteriously found itself onto the bottom of my dessert. Another small technical error. Once again, I was offered a new dessert as well as a drink to try to make amends for the chef error. At this point I was stuffed and knew that I really shouldn't have any more alcohol. The staff did their best to rectify all in any problems that happen during the meal. Hence, the reason why I will be returning again very soon. However, I would be lying if I didn't say there were some technical errors happening in the kitchen. I took a minute to refresh myself in the restroom, which was clean and well kept. And the manager made sure to discount my meal and my drink. After all of the issues I had experienced. Bottom line is the food missed the mark a few times but with a few tweaks here or there it could be great but I will really need to test it out a second time to have a better picture. First time visitor to Pacifica and we were not disappointed! It was not that busy on the night were were there (Thursday). Our server (Janeth) was pleasant, attentive and informative on menu items. We shared the apple and kale salad and it was very tasty. For entrees we had the chicken breast and the scallops. Both came out of the kitchen hot (thanks!) and were incredibly tasty. We walked in and were quickly greeted by the staff. The restaurant was beautiful and inviting and we were escorted out to the patio where we were seated at a beautiful cabana. I ordered the New York Strip while my wife ordered the salmon. The salmon was ok but the portions were modest. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out almost well done. Pacifica has been a mainstay in Palm Desert for many years - and we have enjoyed many nice meals there. But on a recent trip we were very disappointed in the quality and portion size of the food. The ambiance is still lovely - and they still have a great bar area. The service is friendly. But the value isn't there, and the food was a little uneven. A too-small salad drenched in dressing, undercooked carrots, etc. For the prices, there should be more consistency and better quality. read more

It was cooked great, med rare, but for $55, a premium price, it only came with a ton of French fries and one small burnt to a crisp charred shiitake mushroom and a small dipping bowl filled with ketchup of all things. No other garnish. I had to ask for A1! Nice dining ambience but the dish completely ruined my experience. If you charge a premium price for an underwhelming dish, you better expect reviews for it. Totally disappointed. Maybe the owner will respond it's my fault for not paying more attention to the description in the menu or for ordering steak at a seafood restaurant. But, I stand by my review. Light and gives you more than what you expect 5) Ahi - this was the winner of tonight. Went to Pacifica for a birthday dinner and was very disappointed. Ordered appetizers, the sea bass, double lobster, some sides and desert and honestly the quality of the food was mediocre at best. I realize it's located in the desert but the fish had that 'been in the freezer too long' taste and even the cocktails were weak and substandard. The location and ambiance was decent, but considering there were only 2 other couples in the whole restaurant, the service was respectful but slow. Considering the price, and the freezer burnt Lobster tails, going to an established steakhouse makes more sense. read more

We were greeted by our hostess who was friendly! We opted for outdoor seating by the front door entrance because of its shaded area. The misters were a huge help even though we were in the shade at 5:45pm. The tables and chairs were quite tight especially with a small stroller. I recommend the Crater Lake Hazelnut Vodka Expresso Kahlua Expresso Bean Martini! It was superb! The meals- were excellent!! We visited during restaurant week so the $59, 3-course meal was a great deal for us. The clam chowder soup was silky, smooth tasting and not fishy with tasty chucks of potatoes and clams. If you prefer a salad, the Blue Cheese Wedge Salad was refreshing and delicious! The Shrimp Pasta was delicious and the shrimp were tender. The Braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and spinach, cooked til tender with silky sauce. The sugar spiced salmon was presented uniquely, seasoned well and cooked perfectly! Make room for dessert because they were delicious too! The decor indoors were stylish and the bar area were cozy, a nice place to relax and watch a game. There was another area outdoor, overlooking the Main Street, we were not allowed in the area with our dogs even though it was outside. It was spacious but lack any shade, unless you were seated in the small "cabana " style seating. There were only a few of them. Otherwise, the food, the environment and best of all, the service Roxanne gave, we highly recommend this place. Mall Parking is also easy and accessible or street parking. Food was amazing! It was a little more upscale than we were hoping for. If you head to Pacifica, attire is not casual. Women had skirts and dresses, men collared shirts without a tie. Service was attentive until it wasn't. Our reservations were for 7:30. We were done by 10. They were closing while we were finishing up and then service was a little less attentive. We ordered 2 desserts to share ( we explained this to the waiter) but when the desserts were brought out we only had 2 spoons and no plates to share. People were moving all over setting up to close. We asked for plates and spoons and about 5 min later we were given one more spoon. So... great food maybe try to go before 7:00 and I'm sure your experience will be grand! read more

We ordered the Chilled Poached Prawns and Oysters on the Half Shell. The Prawns were large, fresh, plump, & juicy. The wasabi cocktail sauce was a nice touch. The Oysters also did not disappoint. They were big, tender, & fresh and went down easily and the cucumber mignonette was a perfect accompaniment.
