My favorite seafood spot in the Coachella Valley! The food is always delicious, full of flavor, and comes out incredibly fast. In the past, the service has been hit or miss. Most of the female servers we've had were polite but seemed to do only the bare minimum, so I never felt motivated to leave a review. Today's visit completely changed that. Winston gave us some of the best service we've had at any restaurant in a long time. He was attentive from start to finish, refilled our drinks before we even had to ask, and when we requested the check, he thoughtfully boxed up our leftovers without us having to ask. It's the little things that really make a dining experience stand out. Winston is an incredible asset to this restaurant, and it's because of him that I'm finally taking the time to leave a review. First time visiting this spot tucked in the corner of a large shopping center. Wow - awesome seafood here! My wife and I split the double shrimp combo and had fried shrimp and boiled shrimp with hush puppies as an appetizer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Family atmosphere, they equip you with bibs, plastic gloves and a moist towelette for post-meal freshening up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All the food was really fresh and flavorful - I chose "medium" Pier 88-style for the boiled shrimp and my wife picked Cajun BBQ for the fried shrimp both were excellent. I eat here a LOT and personally its the best seafood boil spot in the valley. Very easy to modify the menu to your liking. The food was good, but not spectacular. I was a fan of the Cajun flavor and the hot spice level was enough to tingle the tongue. Pretty big portions, so you feel like you get your money's worth. Cajun fries were okay, would probably pass next time. I'd recommend their shrimp, which was the highlight forsure, and also the lobster tail was pretty good too. This place as just OK. Went for late lunch and was craving Gumbo which was on the online menu. Was seated and looking at the menu there were several things marked out including Gumbo. Disappointed! So we ordered from the lunch basket menu -- fried shrimp and Cajun wings. Hubs enjoyed the shrimp but nothing special and wings were just ok too. Not bad but not good either. Server was nice, but the operation was a bit slow. Maybe because it was later lunch and they were short handed? All in all, probably won't visit again. I have been to many locations! This menu is different! Potstickers and calamari were a 8/10. The potstickers are def store bought pan seared. Portions are good here! Sauce isn't overwhelming. My sons have been here a handful of times with their father. They love the food and usually get the large boil for about a $100. Prices have gone up! Their grandmother and I came with them for the first time. I have to say to the menu is very confusing. A lot of things were crossed out. There are handwritten prices on the menu which I suppose change because of fair market value for seafood. We were only given two menus and there were five of us. The service was not what I expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated at the table with plastic wrapped over it. The whole restaurant looked this way. The ambiance felt very cluttered.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our drinks came in paper cups "to go" with a lid on top. It signaled, that we might not get refills. We eventually did after I asked. Some of our food also came in disposable paper trays. But the real clincher, was that the country boil seafood itself came in plastic bags. It really cheapened the experience. You're paying a lot of money for seafood to come in a plastic bag. The only thing that actually came in a metal tray was our sandwiches, and I noticed some other patrons received a giant tray of perfectly arranged seafood heading to their table. Two of us had clam chowder in paper cups. It was thick and gloppy, but it did have a good flavor. I had a garlic shrimp po boy with 6 tiny shrimp on it. Very disappointing, but the sweet potato fries were delicious. It was served on an aluminum tray. My mom had the catfish and sweet potatoes because they were apparently out of fish and chips or no longer served them. It was a crossed out item on the menu. She said it was very good. Here's was served in a paper tray. One of my sons had the Clam po boy and he also enjoyed it. His came in an aluminum tray. My other two sons had the the seafood served in plastic bags. Mussels and lobster tail with a side of cajun fries. Good thing the fries were served in the paper tray! Overall, the food was very good. The food was amazing, I really enjoyed the flavors and spice. We order a seafood boil that came with a lobster tail, 1 Pound of crab legs, two pounds of shrimp, potatoes, 2 eggs and we added sausage. I took a star off due to my mom's catfish being undercooked and the owner explaining it wasn't but that it was "seasoning" my mom had to explain to her that she has been frying fish for many years and that's no seasoning, but undercooked catfish. When we first started going the food was great. The last three times the food has not been good. It has been tasteless and they act like they are scared to put sauce in the boiling bags.
