The Bulleit Sour, Spicy Margarita, Yellowtail Sashimi, Stetson Cove Oysters, Steak Tataki, Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Filet Sliders, and Point Judith Calamari were all delicious. The Sea Bass was extremely tender and flaky, the Yellowtail melted in my mouth, and Stetson Cove (Hood Canal, WA) Oysters were so delicate, they dissipated with ease. Royal Ossetra Petrossian caviar: 5 stars Definitely splurged on this one, but it was worth every cent. Delicious royal ossetra caviar serve atop crème fraîche and with perfectly prepared Blinis - soft, crisp edges and perfectly warm. I love caviar and don't get to eat it as much as I want. I hope to come back for more real soon. Tableside Steak Tartare: 4 stars Tender steak tartar served with black truffle drizzle and a couple shavings. Crispy crust slices very good dish. Prime steak tataki: 5 stars Served with wild mushrooms, green onions, and a Korean chili paste! The flavors are quite invigorating and the spice is a very mild heat. All the ingredients were well balanced and worked together to make a cohesive appetizer. Steak is cooked perfectly and I would order this dish again. Service: 5 stars. OK, so this was a very pleasant surprise. A vegetarian since 1979 I'm going to a seafood/steakhouse with my buddy because he likes the place. My buddy spent a number of years as a chef at various restaurants and spent a great number of years in Scottsdale, Arizona as a Chef as well as an owner. A seasoned restauranteur. Well, let me tell you that this was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time and I'm in restaurants frequently for the past 50 years. I dig it. It's my thing. I like the social aspect and the entire experience to include the aesthetic, design, presentation, and the service! Of course, the food and drinks play into this equation as well. A great bonus was the terrific jazz trio last night I must add. Well, let's start with this brilliant talented, charming, young man named JACE, (I believe that's his name.) I hope I get that right. I mean from the moment we walked in you could tell this cat knew what he was doing. My buddy had a gift card for $150.00 and he wanted to use it up. So we dug in. I had this incredible Bullit bourbon cocktail and my friend had a nice glass of Rombauer Chardonnay, affectionately referred to as "Danville Crack" in the East Bay up north! The "fuel" for all of those suburban housewives who stay home and "google eye" the UPS Man and the pool boy.... For me, it was the burrata salad with honey and golden and red beets and arugula. My benefactor enjoyed the happy hour slider specials with filet mignon as the star ingredient! I don't eat this stuff, but it was quite remarkable for the price point of $13 for the two of them with a lovely bun and plated artistically. A nice touch was the charming food runner popping out with the salad split for the two of us without our suggestion. I liked that a lot. A well presented and thoughtful gesture. Ding dong! Ringing bells all over the happy meter! Busy for a Wednesday night and Jace was running around, jumping on the other side of the bar to wait on his section of tables with all the precision and expertise of a seasoned professional. And, all along with a great smile on his face and continual conversation with us two sitting at the bar, kind of grinding him a bit with our banter and attempted humor. He was a real sport, right there with us on a warm personal level. It was truly a great evening and I hope to return one day soon for the vegetarian gnocchi. The server, Alyssa, went above and beyond to make my first time fun and exciting. Also, gave me a taste of some of their signature dishes and she was so sweet about it. Id come back just to have her as my server again. The steak, ribeye, was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I didnt care for the Brussel sprouts as they were a tad soggy but I did like the fried rice and the crab dishes. The crab tasted so fresh and flavorful. Came to Eddie V's, while on vacation, and wow, what an experience! Nayevah was our server and she was simply amazing! She made us feel comfortable and was both kind and attentive. The atmosphere is classy, clean, and very upscale. We came for happy hour and did not make a reservation, however, we were accommodated, as we came right when they opened. I would highly recommend reservations for happy hour as it did fill up. We ordered: tomato and burrata salad, filet sliders, and steak tataki. For the drinks we ordered: Eddie's cosmopolitan, 24 Karat, Hope Diamond and a Straight & Narrow (this one was a mocktail). They were all delicious and the Hope Diamond was my favorite as it had a Butterfly Pea flower tea ice cube that colored the martini beautifully. It also had the best taste out of the 3 martinis. The best part was 2 of our 4 drinks were shaken and finished right at our table. This was very special. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. My favorite was the filet sliders, and they were perfectly cooked. The steak tataki flavors were great but the meat was overcooked, and there was absolutely no pink inside of the steak. The tomato and burrata salad was so refreshing but I did feel this item was overpriced at $18. Came in for our anniversary and the staff made a big fuss: personalized card and confetti on the table, rose for my lady and multiple check-ins from staff. Speaking of staff, service was amazing. Are you getting the picture, folks? Speaking of our order, the rest of the food was great. Started with the Shellfish Tower, which I fairly priced at $79. Only nit was that the lobster tail wasn't nearly as tender as the claws, but they rarely are. As a native Marylander, I'm very critical of crabcakes, and the $29 version here is the real deal. It's the size of a hockey puck, very little filler and the panko crust is an interesting twist. Sauce can be easily skipped, if you're a purist. Finished with a desert sampler. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful dinner at Eddie V's on a Thursday evening. We started with happy hour cocktails in the bar - the crowd was friendly, the martinis cold and strong and live jazz band was super chill and fun. Dinner started with the Big Eddie seafood tower. The chilled oysters, shrimp, lobsters and crab were sublime. It took about half an hour to make our way through the tower, enjoying every bite. The tower came with four dipping sauces - one for each of the offerings. We still had room for some red meat so we split the bone-in NY Strip Steak cooked to a perfect medium rare + and cut off the bone and sliced for us. We added on the mashed potatoes which were literately the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten - silky smooth and buttery without being overly fatty. And what's a memorable dinner without a great dessert so we ended our meal with the Bananas Foster Butter Cake - moist butter cake with sliced banana on top and brandy flambé with whipped cream and butter pecan ice cream on the side. This was absolutely a perfect dinner in every respect. And have to mention our server AJ who provided us with spot-on service - friendly, courteous, and professional in every respect. Everything on the menu sounded so good that we couldn't help but order several things! Dumplings, crab cake and lobster bisque for our appetizers. The dumplings were so good that my daughter re-ordered them as her entree. Our entrees were lobster tails, filet medallions, scallops and the bone-in ribeye. Our sides included the lobster Mac and cheese, crab fried rice and brussel sprouts. The bone marrow butter on the ribeye, delicious topper. The dessert was the highlight, bananas foster butter cake with butter pecan ice cream and house made whipped cream, also with table side flambé. Our server was very attentive and readily available. We dined at Eddie V's recently and it was disappointing to say the least. First, we were a party of four with 7 PM reservations made well in advance. It was a busy night and the place was full. They tried to seat us in some tiny room off the back of the restaurant that barely fit 2 tables and that was even tight. I mean this room was like a medium sized closet! We refused to be seated there. The hostess initially said that's all they had. When we continued to refuse, she finally put us in another back room that at least had 6 or 8 tables. it was barley acceptable. Obviously, they had booked the restaurant so full that they were using back small private party rooms for regular seating. I mean who wants to sit in a small room with one other table in it segregated off from the main restaurant? At the least they should have given the option at the time of making a reservation if doing that. Now, to the food.... My wife and I ordered a wedge salad to split. She got the sea bass and I got the 8oz filet mignon. Everyone had one cocktail. The wedge as a joke. It was a big pile of blue cheese crumbles, with a small amount of lettuce, and two small cherry tomatoes, saturated with dressing, and topped with a thin greasy slice of what looked like a Oscar Meyer bacon I cooked at home. I'm telling you, there was so much blue cheese that it was ridiculous. There was literally more blue cheese than lettuce. My wife's sea bass was decent, though there was too much salty sherry soy sauce, but pretty good. My filet seemed OK until I got into the middle of it and it had a texture like nothing I've ever experienced in a filet or any steak for that matter. Super mushy consistency like gummy mashed potatoes (I'm not kidding folks) and a strange off taste. It's even hard to describe how strange this was. I called it to the waitress' attention, and I will say she was very apologetic and took it back, ultimately removing it from the bill as it was too late to wait for a new one, everyone else was mostly finished. So even with the steak taken off, we still ended up paying almost $200 for the two of us, and I didn't even get to eat much! So, though we have had fine experiences before at Eddie V's, this one was just not good. Way below expectations for a restaurant of this level. We are not the complaining type, but this was just not a good experience. Not sure we will go back again. There are many other options on the Paseo. read more

I went all in on the food: the crab fried rice, truffle mac and cheese (non-negotiable, you HAVE to get this), corn, lobster mash, and North Atlantic scallops as my main. I also snuck a few bites of steak from the table because, sharing is caring, right? Perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. But get this our server's name was Eddie. No, not the Eddie V.. or was he? Seated in a very comfy & cozy half booth/half table, center court in the main dining room. Beautiful classy tastefully decorated room with perfect lighting -- not too dark not too bright. Immediately greeted & welcomed by the friendly & charismatic waiter Jordan. Handed menus, mentioned warm bread will arrive soon, and inquired how we all prefer our tableside water. Being the only one requesting "water without ice" I was extremely impressed how Jordan & the bus team discussed it amongst themselves. They never missed a beat filing our glasses. It's the little things like this that elevates a dining experience. The bread was warm & slightly toasty on the outside. But a little too doughy inside. We all agreed. Wifey went with the house red wine. She thought it was excellent and very reasonably priced. On to Meal Time: Yellowtail Sashimi (shared) Fish was fresh but way too cold -- nearly frozen. The sauce was WAY TOO salty. Menu description is "ponzu sauce" but it was clearly dominated with way too much soy sauce. I make ponzu all the time and also buy it. On this particular night, Eddie V's chef didn't add enough citrus (such as yuzu, lemon or lime) We were all disappointed and it wasn't a good way to start the meal. Lobster Bisque for Dad: Table-side presentation is nice -- they bring a small cup with lobster meat solo, then the server pours the bisque into the cup. According to Dad, that was the best part. He thought the bisque was just okay. I sampled and agree. One of the best steaks I've had in a restaurant since Mastro's in 2004, after my Red Sox finally won a World Series. I had been a vegan for 10 years and celebrated at Mastro's in Beverly Hills. Seriously. According to Jordan, when asked if I'm "doing the right thing ordering steak instead of fish?" he claimed "even tho we're known for our seafood, 60% of our customers order steaks." His reassurance sealed the deal for my tummy. Wifey: North Altantic Scallops Seared The scallops were excellent. But the sauce was also too salty. The sauce also had a smokey bacon or pork aftertaste. I sampled it and agree. YMMV but good scallops & sauce need to speak for itself, and doesn't need so much salt & bacon. Stepmom: Norwegian Salmon, with Baby Carrots and Spinach Huge center-cut portion, perfectly charred and served. Tasted how it looked -- delicious. Most entrees at Eddie V's are ala carte, but the veggies sealed the deal for her...and she shared with Dad. Dad: Parmesan Sole Parmesan Crusted This is the dish I was considering for myself because I love to fuel my soul with good sole. But for me, crusted parmesan cheese doesn't float my boat, unless it's fish tacos. Glad I went with the filet. But poor Dad wasn't a happy sailor and didn't care for it. The portion was very large -- 3 big pieces. But he ate only one. Took one piece home for his dog. I took home one and made myself the best fish tacos for lunch the next day. Seriously. Side dish shared: Crab Fried Rice, Mushrooms, Scallions Wifey & I eat veggies nearly 3x a day so we bypassed it for dinner, and wanted to save room for dessert. I read lots a good things about Eddie V's carb fried rice, so I talked everyone into getting it. Well, let's just say I was the only one who really liked it...so I had the majority to myself :) I enjoyed it and the flavors very much. But it was a bit rich and more like risotto than fried rice. I love risotto so it all worked out -- for me. Desserts shared: Warm Belgian Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Mixed Seasonal Berries Bananas Foster Butter Cake Flambéed Tableside With Butter Pecan Ice Cream Couldn't make up our minds about sharing one. Initially agreed on chocolate cake. But due to an extended delay ordering & receiving said dessert, Jordan took it upon himself to bring us the bananas foster too -- both on the house then in our stomachs. The choco cake & warm choco sauce was Fantastico. As was the ice cream & fresh berries too. The bananas foster was good but a little too sweet. The double chocolate cookies served with it was very good. The pecan ice cream too. I don't eat much dairy but enjoyed splurging with the decedent desserts indulgence. Tho some of the food fell shy of a 5-star dining experience, I'd return for a filet, crab fried rice and desserts. When I found out we were going to be on Pain Springs for our anniversary, I went into a search for the best restaurant in the city. After yelping and taking recommendations from friends, Eddie V's was the easy choice. There is Valet right in front of the restaurant, but somehow we ended up on the backside of the restaurant and self parked. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess desk. The main dining room was bright, lively and beautiful- but that's not where we were sat... We were seated in what in what I'm assuming is a private room off to the left. Not gonna lie- it was a disappointment (see the photo of my beautiful view), but we tried to make the best of it. Being in an enclosed space, you hear everyone else's conversations and the noise level is actually amplified. Anywho, the service was great. Our waiter really tried to be funny and was very attentive and had a ton of suggestions for us first timers. We ordered scallops, oysters, lobster Mac and Cheese, and a steak. Everything was what you would come to expect from a higher ended steakhouse- quality, fresh ingredients and nothing disappointed! The oysters were amazing- sopping with the lobster Mac! We were brought out a really lovely dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was a nice touch. In this room, we were sitting in these upholstered high backed chairs (just like the ones that were sitting against the wall in my photo). As soon as i sit down I noticed that I could feel the wooden frame of the seat, so I keep trying to readjust and move around to get comfortable. About halfway through dinner I had a sharp pain on the left side of my lower back- where I had kept hitting the seat frame. It ended up hurting for the rest of the night... We had asked to move tables but it was also the night before Valentines Day so they were booked out- NOT fun, but only sharing that if you have any lower back issues ask to sit in a booth and avoid those chairs! read more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here, on a Tuesday night. We have to start with our guy AJ for really taking care of us and elevating our experience. AJ was on point with his timing and recommendations. I had the rack of lamb, while my wife had the fillet. Both were really delicious, just as our drinks were also: espresso martini and margarita AJ brought out our desert with a "congratulations" on the plate, as we were celebrating my new job. Very nice touch! We appreciated the live music, even in a quiet Tuesday, they were still playing good jazz. The restaurant had great ambiance.. so yea, we will be returning! read more
