I miss delluva but Belle Cora is an equally great replacement especially if you enjoy seating outside and people watching. Great for lazy weekend afternoons in North Beach. Bottomless mimosas by the pitcher and you're set for a good catch up and watching the day go by. Brunch food optional. And they have decent happy hours during the week too including a dog-centric one with treats for your furry friend. Live music complements the vibe of the space and service is laid back but friendly. Great for lazy lounging; Belle Cora is a good spot for beer and wine in the neighborhood. read more

Great ambiance outside for drinks and live music. Wouldn't recommend going just for the food, but it's decent enough for a meal or appetizers. There are much better burgers elsewhere, but few places as charming as this -- with such talented performers too. On this particular evening in the video and photo, it felt like we were transported to Paris. read more

Came here the other weekend for brunch and wouldn't recommend it as a brunch spot. Definitely more of a drinks after work place. They have a very limited food menu and were out of half of the items on their limited menu. Drinks are beer and wine but would be a cute place to grab a drink with a friend. Love the history of the place too! read more

I came here with some friends for trivia night on Monday, and we had a great time! The trivia questions are definitely catered towards an older crowd (especially the music section) but we still had fun! I loved the belle spritz but they were out of it the next time I came back :( The food is alright, pretty typical bar food (I got a BLT). Overall a great place, and would come back again! read more

Great location to grab a drink or app before dinner. We had reservations across the street and stopped in for a glass of wine. The outdoor patio is adorable! They have lights in the trees and set a mood. They even had live music which really added to the experience. read more

It's finally here. The owner of Tupelo, which is just around the corner down Grant, has opened this food & wine spot in the former Dell Uva space. The "food" part of this is light fare. They're working w a limited kitchen, so it's all small plates. The "wine" part of this is beer & wine only. The great part of this? It's all good food & good wine. It's nice & small. Seats maybe 38? That's including outside. Crab tower anyone? Dreamy bacon mac & cheese? How about pretzels flown in from Germany? Yes, I said it. Yes, they actually do it. Never being one to turn down a good pretzel, even one that hasn't been flown in from Germany, of course I had to order one. The fact that we'd already had dinner less than 20 minutes before was not enough to dissuade me. This beauty arrives w 3 dipping sauces. Crisp outside, soft & chewy inside, it had the right consistency. Our table loved the cheese sauce the best. There are 2 pretzel dishes to choose from. One solo, the other is accompanied w bratwurst. Of course. Throw in the aforementioned very good wine & beer, & you've got a quintessential neighborhood joint. Service didn't even bat an eye when my friend accidentally knocked over her wine glass. I was a big fan of Dell Uva and was very sad when it closed. This space is such a great location in North Beach! The concept here is quite simple: wine and beer only for drinks and small plates to snack on. This is a great place to have happy hour or to grab a drink and a snack before a late reservation. We decided to pop in after a heavy dinner for a night cap. The service was prompt and welcoming. I asked them about brunch and other specials they plan to have. I'm excited to pieces to try their bottomless mimosa brunch. This establishment still does not have a full kitchen, so don't expect a full gourmet dinner. We hosted a private event for our wedding at Belle Cora in April and everything was wonderful. Nils is so easy to work with, very easy going, super nice and made planning an event at Belle Cora as little stress as possible, which is so appreciated when planning a wedding. We rented out the inside area but still had access to the band and fire pits outside. Perfect for around 50 people coming and going. My guests loved all the wine choices and the true classic San Francisco vibe it had. Thanks again! Would definitely recommend having a private event here again! read more

Super chill bar! It has such a nostalgic atmosphere, I just love it. Drinks are decently priced, and I have yet to try their food :) My friends and I brought outside food and they were cool about it (given it was 11pm). They open until 1am, so feel free to hang out until then! However, I'm definitely trying the pretzels and cheese plates next time I'm back. read more

Great ambiance, location and service. But the food was mediocre. I came here a few weeks ago on a Friday evening. The ambiance was great with fire pits outside, live music and fast service. We ordered the cheese plate and it left a lot to be desired. It looked like someone went to Safeway, got some mediocre cheeses and laid them out on a board. Belle Cora is one of my favorite venues in the city. Embracing San Francisco history, this North Beach lounge has affordably priced wines and craft beers, as well as a wide assortment of food. Nils, the owner, is really friendly, as are the rest of the staff. My experience today at Bella Cora was euphoric at best. The environment was calm but filled with a wholesome energy that was overflowing with positivity. The food was absolutely amazing. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and filled with flavor. The eggs Benedict was smooth and fluffy. The flavor heavy and decadent in the mouth. The French toast was flavorful and light with a filling quality. The music that tantalized our ears was soothing and tasteful and added a smooth vibe to the already wholesome environment. The meal was astounding, the environment classy and comfortable, the service was outstanding and I felt so welcomed in the environment. My family and I are thoroughly full and wonderfully pleased to have experienced this event that helped start our day in a flavorful way. After grabbing a rejuvenating cup of joe at Caffe Roma it was just past 4 so we decided to grab a happy hour drink. Belle Cora caught my eye since they had "Manny's pale ale" on their draft list. We sat outside on the bench as they had a row of heaters going to stave off the January chill. Found out the Manny's was from an old beer list so I had to settle for Anchor Steam... Our waiter was awful. Some middle aged bald guy in an ugly hat. He spent the whole night ignoring us, we tried to get his attention countless times and he would make eye contact and ignore. When we did order he would make all of us extremely uncomfortable with his weird snide comments, and then just stare blankly and walk away. His terrible service ruined the night for our group. He was rude, treated us like second class citizens, and seemed like he expected us to leave a bad tip, which we would never do. The restaurant itself is great, and we would love to return only if that guy isn't there. read more

A great place for a quick and casual bite. It's really big so easy to get a table. Nice terrace too if the weather permits. Usually have some pizza, but whatever I have I always end up with a burrata appetizer. The pizzas are a decent size and good for sharing. The sausage pizza is good, and Margherita with burrata is good too if you want to overload on that cheese. Only downside is some of the tables inside are large sharing type tables. So you can end up sitting very close to random strangers. Outside is best to avoid that. read more

I came here by mistake... some times unplanned trips can become one to remember. I stopped in with my Wife for her Birthday and they waiter and waitress went above and beyond for us. Moment they heard it was birthday they brought us candy treats. A small gesture can last a life time in ones memory. We recently revisted them And it was not a fluke. This is our go to place while in North Beach the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is always excellent. Their drinking selection is always tremendous and "Fresh". You will not be getting served still drinks here the bubbles are always crisp! read more

Today 5/22/2023 was the worst experience I have ever had @BelleCora. I arrived around 6:45pm with my partner. I was greeted by a white girl about 5'6" dress very casually, hair up with food on her face.. because I was just having 1 drink and against my better judgment I proceeded to order a champagne rosé. She said OK and she would be back. She came back about three minutes later saying that they did not have a rosé Champagne but they had a brute Champagne. I said OK as long as it didn't taste anything cheap like Cooks. She came back about 3/4 minutes later with a glass of champagne. Right before I went to take a sip I noticed the glass was completely broken and chipped on half of the glass, very obviously. I waited another 3/4 minutes for somebody to walk by, I stopped the other waitress a Latin American woman I believe maybe 5'5" dark short hair in a bun. I told her I needed a new glass, without her even looking at the glass she asked me what was wrong with it? I said the glass is completely chipped I could have really cut my self, she looked down said so ...I said I need a new glass of champagne, everything new. She look like she didn't care and walked away, it was weird. It took about 5 minutes to bring me back a glass of champagne. The glass was dirty, the champagne had tasted like it was re-poured from the broken glass, very flat. It was very unsatisfying to feel that they would re-pour the broken glass of champagne into a new glass that was dirty. Not to mention it was daylight when this was happening there couldn't been more than 10 customers in the place while this was going on.. I am not sure if the two waitresses/bartenders were drunk, incoherent or just uncaring of their customers. Not one of them said sorry, I told them I was not satisfied and they still wanted to proceed to charge me but did not end up charging me. Definitely won't be going back. Ps. I have been coming to Belle Cora since 2016/17, I would often come 3 to 4 times a month by myself or with friends. Not sure if there's new ownership or they just don't care about how their employees act but was very uncomfortable the whole time. Furthermore if the owner would like to talk about the service from 2016 - to present time I would love too. I was completely sober when I walked in today and my partner has been sober for over 12 years. Not sure if this is the new standard of bad service but for sure was disappointed alll the way around. read more

My absolute favorite spot in North Beach!! They have an incredible wine list and their burger is out of this world! Honestly, the best burger in the city! I've been a regular customer for the past three years and have consistently experienced excellent service. Unfortunately, today's visit was an exception. During SantaCon, I was told by a bartender (wearing a red sweater with a bear and visible tattoos) that I was "too young to be here" and asked to leave, despite being 25 years old. I want to emphasize that this feedback is not a reflection of the establishment or its ownership. The bar itself is excellent, and the owners have always demonstrated genuine care for their customers and their overall experience. It was a beautiful day in San Francisco, and my friend and I were looking for a place to enjoy some coffee and a small dessert. We came across this spot and decided to stop in. The menu was quite limited, but we didn't need much, so we asked if they had espresso. They did at first, but it turned out that their espresso machine was broken that day. The waitress kindly offered us regular black coffee instead and told us it was on the house. We really appreciated that gesture! The coffee was good, the dessert was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. The only downsides were the small menu and the fact that our plates were chipped, the place could use a bit of updating. Still, we enjoyed our visit and might come back again. read more

The black truffle butter pasta with burrata was a massive ripoff. $29 for a kid's menu portion of watery box spaghetti (and I'm talking cheap store brand spaghetti, not the nice boxed stuff) with a drizzle of truffle oil (definitely not a compound butter situation as the menu implied). There was a microscopic blob of burrata on top--small enough that there was no discernible filling, so it may as well have been plain mozzarella. Worst of all, the entire dish was just bland, except for that chemical fake truffle flavor you get from cheap truffle oil. The penne à la vodka was fine, but I've made better weeknight jar-sauce pastas at home. Same with the chicken parm, though at least those two dishes were adult size portions. The service was lackluster. Not particularly rude, but very perfunctory. More like what you expect from a counter service fast casual spot than a North Beach institution. To add insult to injury, they added an 8% "SF mandate" surcharge to the already extortionate prices. That's double what most restaurants charge, and between that, actual tax (as opposed to blaming a discretionary fee to subsidize their business expenses on the city), and tip, it was a 40% surcharge. If the food and service were decent, it would be another story, but they weren't, and I left feeling like we'd just been mugged. The ambience is gorgeous and the drinks weren't bad, but if you decide to come here, never ever order dinner unless you want to pay through the nose to be made a fool of.
