Have dined here twice and both times did not disappoint! The service is great, and the food is fresh and delicious. I especially love the dip trip and grilled halloumi. The burrito salad was alright, could have used a little more flavor in my opinion. I really like the small plates and sharing atmosphere of this place, and appreciate all of the vegetarian forward options. The space is small and intimate, definitely great for a date night or girls night! I will say if you make a reservation (I'd recommend, it's a small place and gets busy) be sure to be prompt as part of our group was running about 10 minutes late, and the servers kindly let us know we only had the table for an hour and a half, which is fairly strict on weekends. read more

Came by on a Sunday during happy hour. We ordered a few food items off the happy hour menu: hummus and muhammara (a must!) with pita, aleppo fries, and falafel. We also ordered the non-happy hour burrata salad and the filet kebab. Our server was very attentive, though our main food items were somehow forgotten and we had to remind them.. but once they arrived, everything was great! I loved the pomegranate in the burrata salad. Came here for a glass of wine and a bite before dinner and I think this is the perfect place for that. The back patio was comfortable and sheltered from wind. While the food at Roaming Goat is satisfactory, the prices keep it from being a repeater. Admittedly, the cost is symptomatic of an endemic of shared plates that are priced the same as mains, but given that all of Roaming Goat's menu items are shared plates, it is near impossible to get a full meal there without racking up a serious tab. Even the so-called "Medium" dishes are barely enough for more than a couple people to get a bite. Both my Burrata Salad and Brussels Sprouts were solid, but $30 for a meager amount of food is a non-starter. Both items were nicely composed but did nothing beyond the standard presentation of their main ingredients (with the exception of pistachios being a strong sidekick to the Burrata); salty Brussels and creamy cheese are tough to mess up. The restaurant has a jovial atmosphere, but unless you take serious advantage of the Happy Hour or have a deep-seated interest in Armenian wines, there is more interesting food nearby for a fraction of the cost. read more

I would expect a dive bar from the name but it's a nice Greek restaurant. We came here for dinner on a weekend and were able to get seated right away. They have outdoor seating which is more vibrant, and indoor seating which is very dimly-lit with a romantic/quiet vibe. There was a taro reader on site that evening (for a cost). They have happy hour options before 5 PM - I enjoyed the wine recommendation that I was given by the waiter. For the appetizers we got the Trio Spread- we were happy that we got the trio since we normally would just order hummus and labneh, but the Mahammara (bell pepper based) dip was our favorite- very tasty and flavorful. Also loved that they had Haloumi cheese on the menu which is a lightly grilled cheese that is sprinkled with honey. For entrees we had the chicken kebab and the Octopus. The buratta was supposed to be on a bed of arugula but it was merely a garnish. The Brussels were tasty but very greasy. Last Thursday I came with my husband and our little one (2 years old) around 5pm to enjoy some food. We decided to stay outside (the weather was kind of nice) and they served us right away. What a lovely find! I was in a search of a happy hour in the area and stumbled upon roaming goat. I was looking for something that had a good happy hour menu, drinks, and was dog friendly - and this place had it all. We sat outside and got several appetizers such as their trio plate, which is a must get! Their dips were so flavorful and came with a good amount of pita. I also really enjoyed the kefta meatballs, which has been my hyper fixation lately. The service was also really sweet and friendly, they gave my dog a water bowl and made sure that we were taken care of . Crispy falafel, seasoned fries, fresh dips, and the amazing stuffed dates all paired with a great selection of wine. We did try the lamb skewer that was not on the happy hour menu and it was the most disappointing bite out of everything we tried. However, the happy hour selection more than makes up for it! We had a great date night at Roaming Goat! The concept of Roaming Goat is nice - somewhere between casual and fine dining with a wine bar. A bit disappointed by the wines, if we're being honest - enjoyed 50% of the 4 types we tried. The starters were fine, probably a 3/5 but what saved them was the medium/main plates which were 5/5! We loved the angus filet kebab and brussel sprouts, which both felt unique and well made with varied flavor profiles. Service was excellent. After attending the SF Rare Book show at Ft Mason, this place was a short trip away. This place has a selection of small and medium plates. As a pescatarian, there were few medium plates available for me, but The Wife and I ordered several others, which proved more than enough. Falafel was very good, with a kick that built up. The herbed cucumber salad was tasty and subtle, could have used even more herbs. The trio of dips with soft fluffy pita were excellent, and the brussel sprouts were eaten very quickly. The atmosphere was pretentious, but ina friendly was. The wine list was interesting, and I got an explanation of Georian wines from our server, but ultimately got some Italian varietals instead. The list was fairly pricey per glass, but I'm sure they were all high quality. Dessert was fairly plain, uninspired baklava (which needed a steak knife) and chocolate ice cream. read more

Went here for restaurant week and loved the food and the restaurant week deal. We ended up getting a little assortment of things including the stuffed dates, olives, falafel, and fries with the harissa sauce for the appetizer. For the main we got the chicken wrap and for the dessert the walnut baklava! The appetizer assortment was tasty. I loved the harissa sauce and was obsessed with the crisp on the fries. The falafel was also nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The chicken in the chicken wrap was well seasoned and juicy. The salad that came with the wrap was filled with pickled onions and peppers which I loved!! The baklava was tasty however it was like any other baklava I've had. I did really like the whipped cream they put on top though. Our food did take a while to come out and if I was hungrier I probably would have been annoyed however I wasn't so it was fine. The restaurant itself is very cute and small with adequate indoor and outdoor seating. This is such a cute bar perfect for a girls night out or a date! Their interior is cozy and dark and not too over stimulatingly loud other than the chatter going around so it's a great place to catch up. I've been around the restaurant scene of SF when Ame was still at Four Seasons, LuLu on Howard and a frequent visitor of Fleur De Lys and I only bring that up since this place starts their tip expectation at 20%. I draw parallels to cheaper places since I care more about places being clean and food is a matter of preference most of the time. Having said that my review is for the brunch service. Steak and Eggs plus an appetizer should never take over 90 minutes to process. Since steak is the first ingredient it should be the most prevalent one on the plate; if I were to rename it for accuracy it was a plate of Fries with Arugula, Eggs and Steak. The portions being in that order. I should have taken a picture of it, but it would have been an insult to photography. Probably my least favorite Steak and Eggs in the city and that's including Tad's which has changed over the years. The steak itself was actually fairly good as for taste, but the fries were bland. I understand, it's Sunday football and there's only 1 person working the floor with multiple large parties, but I'm a firm believer however many seats you put out should be met with preparation. They seem to have a nice wine selection so maybe their dinner service is better suited for that pairing. I really wanted to like this place, but this experience fell flat. read more

We were a little late for our reservation and they still seated us outside on their street parklet. Outside is lovely on a weekend when you can enjoy the weather and people watch. They're dog friendly, too which is great. The tables are super close to each other so there's absolutely NO privacy in conversations. You will get to know your table mates well. So if there are people near you laughing loud or just loud talkers, it's not going to be chill. The drinks and food are yummy. Some of the menu items that are on both dinner and lunch are different prices (more at dinner), but that could be because they're bigger portions. I'm not sure because we ate lunch there. They have a lot of vegetarian options which was nice. We shared the burrata, Brussels, and hummus. I would have liked bread or something to go with the burrata. Dim lighting, great decor, perfect setting for a wine bar. That being said, we thought the brussel sprouts were good but way too salty and needed something sweet to add balance. Goat cheese stuffed figs were good but nothing special. Red wine cheese was also kinda eh. The wines were okay, we understand they're going for a Mediterranean vibe with everything but we did miss some of our classic Napa flavors (Cabernet, Sauvingnon Blanc, etc.) More of a preference though, if you love foreign wines, this is absolutely the place for you. My cousin and I came here this past Friday around 1pm. It was empty and we were the only diners there so service was good. Or so we thought.* The place is nicer and bigger than it seems from the outside. We opted for sitting inside because we weren't dressed for the windy weather, but if we were, I would've preferred to sit at their outdoor patio. The inside was very dim and we had one small lamp on our table. The food was great, although I was surprised at 1pm on a weekday it was their brunch menu and not a lunch menu. Thus, there were limited options to choose from and only a few large plates. We shared the Brussels Sprouts and Stuffed Dates. My cousin got the Steak and Eggs with Falafel and I got the Breakfast Plate with Basturma (think 'thick beef prosciutto'). I also had a mimosa. We were super full by the end and agreed the food was good. There was also a very nice waitress who told me to fix my dress after I left the bathroom, and I appreciated that so much! *Why 2 stars you ask? The waiter asked if we wanted "still, sparkling, or tap" when we first sat down. He said the tap water kind of quietly and there are MANY restaurants in the Bay that ask for 'still or sparkling,' and when we say 'still,' the water is FREE with no issues. Lo and behold, when we get our bill, we notice the still water is $8 PER BOTTLE. It's literally water. We were kind of peeved especially because we drank two bottles. I took a picture of the first receipt, which showed the 2 bottles of water. My cousin paid and got a printed receipt. When she got home, she realized that they charged us for 3 bottles!!! We didn't even drink a third bottle. If you look at the pictures, you can see the first receipt was printed at 2:12pm and the second was at 2:19pm. Usually we don't ask for a receipt at the end, so if my cousin didn't ask for one, we wouldn't have known we got scammed. I would avoid this place if I were you. read more

Honestly one of the best happy hour deals in the city hands down. Happy hour is from 3-5 Wednesday - Sunday (yes even on weekends) & glasses of wine are $8.
