First off, this is a busy service center, so I called and made an appointment for 1:00 p.m. I was purchasing new tires for my wife's car; fairly expensive Michelin all weather tires. The technician said, "Give us a couple hours." I checked the parking lot at 2:50 and my car was still there. At around 5:10 a tech came out and said, "Would you like an alinement too?" I agreed, so I didn't get out of there untill about 5:45 p.m. After a drive home, I discovered that the tire pressure sensor would not reset. I waited a couple weeks until I had time to bring it back to have them repair it. Another two hours in the waiting room. They replaced the faulty sensor with no additional charge, but I shouldn't have had to go back and waste another two hours of my time. I will probably continue to use this service center because it is convenient to my house, and I've had good service there in the past, but I was a bit miffed at this last experience. read more

Went on a Saturday and arrived no later than 8:15AM (I believe I actually was talking to staff at 8:11AM) because I know appointments are first come first serve on Saturday. I needed an oil change and tire rotation and they told me it would be 3 hours. I thought it was a bit long but it's the weekend, so I left and came back a few hours later at around 11:30ish. I notice my name on the queue and it said it would not be ready until 3:15PM which was shocking. I asked the front desk if it was accurate because if it would be more than an hour I would head home. He said he would check for me to give me a new estimate on time but couldn't find my slip. Another hour passed before it moved off the lot into the bay. I didn't leave until 1:45 and they didn't even peel my old oil change sticker off the window or reset the oil change light. A tech was walking in complaining about how he wanted to go home and the worker behind the desk kept having to tell him please clear the board first but the tech's complaints were rather persistent and I felt he was completely unconcerned that I was sitting waiting for potentially 7 hours for routine service. The job got done and the front desk guys were very nice and helpful which is why this isn't a one star, I witnessed many customers being unnecessarily rude and disrespectful to them while they stayed patient and kind, but it seems the shop staff could use some mentorship or assistance if it takes that long for simple routine service and they didn't even do the basic resetting of a light and replacement of a sticker + on top of a staff member complaining in front of me who is hoping he doesn't go home because I want to go home too :/ read more

I needed new sensors on two of my tires. I made an appointment online using the website scheduling service, and that was really the hardest part. Arrived at my appointment time, car was taken back, sensors replaced. Kenny was the one who worked on my car, he was very friendly and great at communicating status, issues that came up, and a time estimate. I dropped off the car but wouldn't have minded a wait as there are many business to walk to from this location. I called Belle Tire ahead of time realizing I needed to replace the tires as soon as possible not knowing how long it may take with plans to travel a long distance the following day. They gave me options over the phone & upon arrival, they had the notes from our conversation & started the process immediately. The experience was fairly standard, explaining everything I'd need to know about tires & the purchase was exactly what I expected. What I did not expect was after leaving, a rattling sound persisted & could not tell if it was in the front or the back. While waiting at Mr. C's Car Wash, I realized I needed to get this sorted out & returned with less than an hour before closing time. Both the mechanic and front of house assured me they'd locate the sounds & updated me every step of the way. They showed me the undercarriage & asked if I was okay with what they thought would solve the problem. Tightening a few loose things, removing a plastic piece to protect the wheel that was cracked & a few other ideas & voilà. The positive attitude, openness to help & speed at which they diagnosed the issue & corrected it was greatly appreciated. The last time I owned a car was over ~25 years ago, not needing one while in Chicago & taking the train was my preferred commuting to & fro, but now that I have a dog, her comfort is my number one priority. I had a genuinely disappointing experience at the Belle Tire on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Farms and won't be returning. From the moment I walked in, something felt off. The energy in the place was flat and unwelcoming, like customers were an interruption rather than the reason they were open. When I greeted the staff member at the front counter, he held up a finger without looking up and told me to wait while he continued eating canned meat at the counter. The smell had settled into the waiting area, and the chairs had visible food debris in them. It wasn't just one bad moment. The rudeness from the service center staff was consistent, the space felt neglected, and there was no sense that anyone there took pride in the experience they were putting customers through. I went for a front end alignment and after dropping off I was presented with a $1,300+ estimate to get my Jeep to the point where they would be able to perform an alignment. I called Banner Automotive in SCS; they got me in a couple of hours later...they called a little later to say that it was a wheel balance issue and not an alignment issue...$60 later I was out the door with a Jeep that drove like new. read more

Ridiculously terrible tire store. I bought a set of brand new tires from them, and during install, they made everything a huge issue. First they claimed that I had to buy new lug nuts, then they tried to upsell me on a new set of wheels, and told me "your old wheels have rust inside, we'll have to grind the inside of the wheel in order to get your tire to seal." I gave them permission to do whatever they needed to do to get the tire to seal, and instead, they installed the tires without doing anything, then blamed me when they didn't seal properly. One brand new tire leaked, and over my complaint of leaving the store with a brand new, leaky tire, they told me to keep filling it with air, and it may fix itself. The tire never did fix itself, and is now ruined. Absolutely terrible service. I'll never shop here again. read more

I am a first-time customer and had a delightful experience here. I needed new tires and my quote from Subaru seemed ridiculous for pretty bad tires. Belle Tire gave me a great quote (+ rebate) on four top of the line tires. I made an appointment and showed up to a busy spot. They got me in immediately and had me out the door within an hour. I have been a long-term customer. Yesterday I picked up a flat commuting home from work. I was fortunate to be near the Belle Tire on Mack in Grosse Pointe They were very busy. They took my car and said they would take care of the tire tomorrow. When I went to pick it up today, the tire was repaired and they did not charge me. Once again, Belle Tire has met and exceeded my my expectations. I've had tire coverage through manufacturers and car dealerships, but none of those match the service and reliability of Belle Tire over the last 26 years that we have lived in the area. read more

My mom brought her car for a tire replacement. When she left the first time, the axle was broken. Then she brought it back (second time), belle tire "fixed" it. We were driving on the freeway and realized it was still making a noise and obviously not fixed. Charged her almost $2,000 for what they did the first time (tire, shocks, springs, alignment, tire rotation) and then they broke her axle and let her leave like that. She then brings it back for a second time to get their mistake fixed and somehow they didn't fix anything, still, and let her leave with something broken. What did they do for the hours they had her car? Cars need to be checked for service completion and safety before being returned to customers. It is absolutely unacceptable to provide careless and rushed work in the car repair business. People could die! The axle literally spins the wheels, if her car stopped on the freeway she would die and likely other people too. Not okay at all, DO NOT come here. read more

DO NOT Patronize this location!!! I took my vehicle to this location for a leak and was charged $528.99 for a repair leak that was NEVER repaired. I was forced to take my vehicle to the dealership where I was charged another fee to actually remedy the leak situation. When I contacted the location they refused to provide a refund. I was never given actual diagnostic documentation because a representative of this company stated they do, "visual inspections" to decide how to perform work on a vehicle. That is utter nonsense and is not a proper form of evaluation to actually identify a problem with a vehicle. I would not suggest anyone use this company to make repairs on there vehicle and I will be seeking legal representation to assist with my refund and to bring awareness to this fraudulent behavior that should never take place in a "professional" building with "licensed" mechanics. read more

I'm so disappointed with this location. I had my Taurus serviced there and got it back with the molding in my trunk detached. There was no reason that should've been touched. My conclusion is that they did a rush repair and threw my spare tire in the trunk. I was also scheduled to have my tires rotated but I know that wasn't done either because I have some significant rim rash on one of my rims and the location of that rim has not moved!!! They had my vehicle overnight and the entire next day! I just want accountability for workmanship and for them to have integrity. Purchased full spare tire in case of emergency, then when it was actually needed on the side of a freeway in a remote location, discovered that the tire could not be installed on the car. Returned to the store and was told that it could be installed with different lug nuts.... That didn't help when my wife was stranded on the side of a freeway. Was told there was nothing they could do and I was out of luck - couldn't issue refund. Had been frequenting this location for 10+ years but I will never be back. My son lost a tire on I-94 and the car was taken to this location on Saturday night. Ryan called pretty early on Monday morning with the damages and quote to get it repaired. I called a couple times with questions and spoke to Chis and Kenny who were helpful. A new rim was really expensive, so I went to a junk yard to get one and took it there on Tuesday morning. I spoke with Kenny. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and helpful. He went beyond to make the situation better and had us driving the car home. The technicians were also excellent. Some good and not so good... I called to get a set of 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 245/40Zr19/Xl 98Y Tires. They only had 2 in stock and had to order a second set and explained they would be in the next day. I had an appointment scheduled and they completed the installation in about 1-1/2. That is the good news... When I was quoted on the phone, I made it VERY CLEAR that I DID NOT want or need the 'Protection Program' for the additional cost. I was quoted an amount and then went in to pay I was SHOCKED at the price and was angry that they added in the 'Protection Plan' costs! That is totally unethical! It has happened to me before which is why I called ahead of time for a quote so I could NOT be taken advantage of again. BEWARE! Also, at a cost of over $1,300.00, you would think that the tires would not look like they had been driven through the mud! Had to go to the car wash to get them cleaned. I've used this outlet for over two years and I regret wasting my time. Service is always slower than quoted (often by hours) but this last episode was it for me. I had my winter tires installed here but there was an issue with one of the tires (a slow leak). I tried arranging an appointment online (no one would pick up the phone) and I was informed that I shouldn't make an appointment for this service, I should just drop in. I was told this would take 30-45 minutes. So I showed up at 8am Saturday morning to be told they couldn't help me and I needed to make an appointment. No appointments were available for the next two weeks. Again, this is to fix their mistake. So I drove home, checked my calendar to see what days were available next month and tried phoning in. No answer - machine said they were closed. So I called the Belle Tire branch in Dearborn and arranged an appointment for Monday morning, 8am. No hassle. I'll never go to the Grosse Pointe Farm branch of Belle Tire again. If you hate humanity, I suggest you hang out at this place. read more

Back when I lived nearby this was my go-to place. I've had a lot of work done here and I've always been pretty satisfied with the work. Overall, I haven't had any significant complaints or issues with any of the work that they've done for me. There was only one time that I had a negative experience here and that was about 3-4 years ago I came in for a rotation and asked to get the alignment looked at quickly. When I came back, they rang me up for a full alignment and I was pretty upset because they never asked for my confirmation to have the work done. Normally I wouldn't mind but they insisted that I pay for the service and afterwards I felt that my alignment was farther off than it was before. To correct this issue I make sure to explicitly tell them to call me before proceeding with work that I have not previously authorized and I say that I will not pay for work that I didn't give permission on. They are actually pretty reasonable on their service prices as well as their tires... I thought I was going to have to get a new tire when mine blew out on me, so I filled it with Fix-A-Flat so I for sure thought I would need a new one with all that Flex goo inside! I must say there was a LONG wait but I was a walk-in & I didn't make an appointment so I understand. They were able to plug my tire saving me the money of buying a brand new one they also do oil changes and other work on cars. Knowing that you're probably going to have to wait they have a leather seating area with chairs a coffee table in the middle. A giant TV in the corner to watch the news. I was comfortable was they had a vending machine for snacks candy and small bites. In the vending machine next to it with water Gatorade and pop. I took advantage of the area along with Michael's next door. so I took my son we went shopping at Michaels and then stopped for dinner and eat inside Wendy's,.... which is right next door. This location is conveniently located within walking distance to where you can actually do something while you wait. read more

We brought our car in at 8:30am and were told there were many cars ahead of us but it should be repaired by 2:30pm. At 2:30pm we were told 4:30pm and there were 3 cars ahead of us. At 4:30pm we were told it might not get done today and there were 3 cars ahead of us (how is that even possible?!) The unrealistic wait times and poor communication are unacceptable in a business. We are from out of town and needed to get back, which we told the manager many times. We eventually picked the car up, unrepaired, and took it to the Shell across the street. read more

They deserve zero stars. Definitely a place that exaggerated the actual damage, and may be sexist, as I am a young female. I had slid on ice and hit my front driver's side tire, which had been turned to the left, going maybe 15 mph on the median on I-94 on my way in to work. There was no body damage, but the wheel was bent. I ended up driving it to this location because it was only a quarter mile away. They called and told me horrific news. I picked up an itemized list that said basically everything needed to be replaced under the car..totaling over $2200 with 27 things listed. They overcharge for everything, and I was aware of that, knowing they are a large auto chain. I ended up having it towed to a local auto shop, and it only needed a new spindle, the one thing that wasn't on the ridiculous list! I also needed new brakes and rotors, which I was aware of before the accident, and belle tire wanted nearly 3 times the amount I got it fixed for. The wheel was bent, but I had a spare in my trunk that the auto shop I had it towed to was able to use, when belle tire wanted to charge me $235. I ended up only paying a mere $400 for everything, including the wheel replacement, new spindle and new front brakes and rotors! Make sure you get a second opinion, unless you want to be ripped off!! They lost a loyal customer, at least at this location. My story seems pretty consistent with several other reviews. I am not saying that they would've done a bad job, but were overcharging and trying to replace parts that didn't need to be. read more

Not even a week after my alignment my inner tie rod came out of the steering rack while I was driving. DANGEROUS. THIS COULD'VE BEEN DEADLY. Also, a dude told me my "toe cams" were broken. LMAO my what?? When I went to go get the car a service man had to explain what the dude was trying to tell me, and he said two adjusting bolts were striped...bolts I never touched. Got home earlier today and my son noticed a sound coming from one of the tires on my car. Sure enough, I had run over a bolt and the tire was leaking air. I immediately drove to Belle Tire. They were very busy today and weren't sure if they'd get to it before closing but an hour later I got a call that they were able to repair the tire. I went to pick it up and was told there would be no charge...a very pleasant surprise. I have bought tires at this location before and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I keep going back, and I don't know why - probably a glutton for punishment. Generally, I need to ask for the same thing 2-3 times because nobody takes notes or writes things down. Huge turnover, never anyone there even the same day let alone week after week / month after month. As far as working on cars - I'm pretty sure there are no mechanics there.. just "techs" who can only turn wrenches left and right and if that doesn't work they are stumped. Simple problems can't be diagnosed, alignments seem to be an impossible task (2-3 tries), even getting tires balanced is a hassle, i.e. they're never balanced right. After 2-3 tries I usually give up. My most recent trip will be the last. If you even complain a little bit, universally all of them will become sh*tty with you.. My advice? Find a real mechanic elsewhere - a good mom and pop shop, there are plenty in the area. I have found one and I'll never go back to this or any other "chain" where "service" is listed a priority and never actually executed. read more

I was 15 minutes early for my noon appointment, but to my surprise, everything was done by 12:15 pm. I use this location for everything my car needs. The tech advisors are always professional, helpful, and let me know if there's an immediate problem that needs to be addressed. I usually check Yelp Before I make a purchase, certainly wish I had checked the reviews for this location in advance of my tire purchase.... I bought a set of tires on Black Friday and knew it would be insane so I scheduled my install the following Thursday... Arrived at 4:00 and waited 45 minutes before I was told that my tires had been sold to someone else but "don't worry we will get another set in tomorrow and we will call you, Saturday at the latest." When no call was received and icy conditions were expected and I couldn't take off early from work on another weekday I called at 10:30 Saturday and learned they were in, scheduled an appt. for 1:00 and arrived on time, it is now 3:45, six other customers have come and gone and when I asked what the problem was the guy at the counter said I had a 4:00 apt, true I did on Thursday!!!! I "saved" 70 bucks in the form of a rebate over what I would have paid at Costco,lesson learned! read more

I've had two experiences with this shop lately. 1) Got quote for wife's car. Next day had some time to kill at Costco, they beat Belle tire's price by a mile. Belle offered to price match, but I didn't bother, since they couldn't give me the best price the first time. 2) Tire shredded on road, had to get towed, thought I would try the local shop again. Tire price was actually competitive. When they rang up the bill it seemed high -- because they had added their tire warrantee program without asking me. Sneaky.
