Okay. Where to begin! I new we were in for a treat when we pulled up but I didn't know how much we would enjoy our experience! The service to start off with was excellent. We felt like family! The whole staff was very kind and it honestly felt like a country style hallmark movie. Everyone in town knew everyone. The food was amazing! Great fun place to eat. The food is wonderful and totally family friendly and great for small tables and huge groups, so come 1 and all, just go try them out. This place is flat out awesome. I don't come from around here, so I was eager to try out places all the locals (my Uber drivers) would recommend. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, and I hate to say it screams "Texas," but it does. It's got the atmosphere that Texas Roadhouse tries to imitate, but genuinely. The staff here was amazing, more so than most places I've ever been to. Call it Texas hospitality, but the West Coast, on average, isn't quite as friendly as folks here. The food here is presented in a unique way that I loved. They start with rolls, and then bring out greens, mashed potatoes, corn, and gravy when your chicken comes. The chicken was some of the best I've ever had, and the sides were great. Not much else to say - it was amazing. It has the typical limited menu of fried chicken (bone in or boneless), fried catfish, chicken and dumplings and chicken fried steak and standard sides: green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. The homemade dinner rolls were big, fresh and hot. We had the fried catfish which tasted ok. At $19 pp, it was a little high. We could only take our leftover meats and rolls home but none of the vegetables. Strange rule. Our server was very nice and friendly. Service was good. Ambience was noisy in the one big room dining area. The restroom was inadequate for the capacity of the restaurant. There were ONLY 2 toilets. The inside of the restaurant is rustic. I mean that in a really good way. You feel at home when you are there. The location of the restaurant is also good, as is the waitstaff. We travel a lot, so we don't get to go to the same place more than once very often because there are too many restaurants in the world to try. However, this place is on our list to revisit. Fried chicken and sides, found the corn to be the best side but they are using frozen corn which ruins the texture, no pop. If they switch to canned corn, it would be amazing.
