    Some wine recommended by Jackson
    Peter C.

Fruit Wine Co has consistently impressed me with their knowledge of wines and phenomenal selection. Staff has great knowledge on wine at both a broad and granular level, Jackson was very helpful. The store is a neat and quaint place with a wine bar for tastings. Support a local business and try something you've never had!!!

I have neither been to this establishment nor heard of it, but Yelp keeps nagging me to post a review so here it is.

Family owned business. Very knowledgeable about wines. I found it more personable to shop at Seattle Wine then big wine stores.

The staff very friendly and VERY helpful. I do not know if you know, but in Seattle, they charge a crayz tax for liquor (not beer and wine). The staff member had to point it out to me, or I would not have known. In addition, they are not allowed to sell THC drinks because of rules and regulations. I don't think you can blame Total Wine for that, but I am sure people do. HOWEVER, they do try to hide the true costs when it comes to liquor, and that seemed a little sketch. If we see a large price sign, that usually indicates a price, and that is not how they did it there. However, the prices there are still the cheapest, so whether it was Texas or Washington, Total Wine is still my favorite place to buy drinks.

I must say the last few times I've been in there the customer service needs some work. When you ask somebody how they are or say hello you assume you'd get a response ?? Nope! Literally crickets. Nobody asked me if I needed help. I wasn't greeted when entering the store, the other locations are always way busier and always say hello and go the next step to ask if I need help or they can point me in a direction . Working in customer service myself; it's not hard to give a smile and say hello. Select selection is great most of the time.

We shared a pizza and ordered two pasta dishes, and they even let us order a full bottle of wine instead of just a glass. Today's special pizza featured a pistachio sauce--it was creamy, refreshing, not overly salty, and served in a generous portion for one to two people. The pizza dough itself have very strong firewood aroma, which is lovely. We ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, and the unique, wide pasta truly set it apart from what you typically find at other restaurants. Since we were still hungry, we also tried the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which came with spicy sausage. While I expected more of a vodka flavor, the bold kick of the spicy sausage made it intriguingly flavorful. We couldn't resist today's special dessert, the Panna Cotta. It had a distinctive gelatinous texture and even looked cute as it jiggled on the plate. This cozy spot is perfect for a date or a girls' night out--ideal for sharing a bottle of wine and enjoying the authentic Italian ambiance.

When we walked in around 8:40 p.m., it was fairly empty inside, with only two or three small groups scattered around. Since we were stopping by on their "Wine Wednesday", wine taps actually carried a discount -- a nice unexpected surprise. TL;DR: Tapster is an awesome spot you have to check out if you're a beer lover. Never in my life have I had the opportunity to pour my own beer at a bar from so many different taps before. The wide variety of beers here is not something you see often. Most of the time when a place has a large beer menu, it's saturated with a bunch of lagers and IPAs. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how many sours, fruit beers, ciders and stouts they had here. My favorite beer of the evening was one that hot hot honey mixed in with it. While there are a few snacks available for purchase here, you are more than welcome to bring outside food in as well. Overall, Tapster is an awesome beer spot that I would highly recommend to others stopping by in the area.

It wasn't super packed, but there were several groups around us, which made for a nice chill evening vibe. The first thing you notice walking in is the amazing smell of popcorn (which I liked - bonus points that it is also complimentary). The best part about this place is the "no commitment" tap wall. We were curious about a few different beers, so we would poured a tiny bit of each to taste test instead of being stuck with a full glass of something we didn't like. It's the perfect way to try a bunch of stuff without the pressure. This spot was the best way to kick off our weekend!

Second, the prices are way out of line with the TWaM store a few miles away. Their regular prices are so high that TWaM regular price beats their sale price by $5. I guess this is why employees eagerly ask what you're looking for and then walk you to it and grab it off the shelf for you. They don't want you seeing the high prices and walking out like I did. Don't even get me started on their bogo scam. Go elsewhere and maybe something useful will take their place when they finally move out. Compare 4 Roses small batch and small batch select with Bevmo and any other area retailers and you'll see. Small batch select is $86.99 at Bevmo, under $60 at TWaM. We found a German egg liquor that is just about impossible to find in the states especially not around Christmas time which was so exciting. We also found a half price pumpkin vodka, butterscotch Schnapps, and chocolate liqueur. The prices weren't too bad, but of course, the Washington state taxes were ridiculous. If you are looking for a specialty alcohol and need a couple groceries as well, I would suggest going to this store since it is all in one place, especially if you happen to be in the area. The person who checked us out seemed nice enough, but was not very knowledgeable about some of the specialty products. That was OK though since we didn't really have questions about anything. The store is laid out in a fairly easy to navigate way with similar alcohol types together and groceries way in the back.
