The owner was honest & told me he couldn't squeeze me in, but he provided me with other times/dates that fit my schedule. I came from a referral from my father-in-law. I use to HATE dealing with mechanics. I am a person who just wants their car to run without having to worry anything. Just tell me what I need please. I used to waste my time and would get multiple quotes from different shops, dealerships, pepboys, etc., to shop around for the best price and not get screwed over. I brought my 2008 Ford Focus because there was a rattling in the engine when it was idling. Three different mechanics couldn't find the source of the problem. Hector took it for test drive and realized the engine mount was worn-out. He quoted me a fair price and I got the work done there. The second car I've been bringing to Hector is my 2015 Toyota Prius. He recently did the 100k recommended fluids. I told him I could swap out my engine and cabin air filters and he was totally cool with it. No upselling, no nonsense. I had taken my Prius to the Toyota dealership because of a computer software recall and they told me I needed new brakes. I asked Hector to take a look and he said they were completely fine. TLDR: Excellent service, highly knowledgeable, and very affordable! My first experience with Bellflower Automotive was Jan 2024 and based on it they are second to none and better than the dealership! I am eternally grateful they provided a more affordable, reasonable pricing than what I was quoted at the dealership. Saved me $1k on the issue I came in for, and another $200 on a separate issue. Details: I talked to Andrew and he was able to get me an estimate of service over the phone for what I thought the issue was (hybrid battery needed to be replaced). I researched and shopped around for a couple days and it was between going to the Toyota dealership, Bellflower Automotive, and another local repair shop. This place had good reviews and the best quote so I booked and got it towed over to them first thing next day, and got my car back before lunch with a brand new OEM hybrid battery. He even saved me at least $200 by replacing a bulb on a taillight issue I asked about when I picked up the car. He advised to return the taillight I bought and get my money back (it was in its box new and unused). I was so grateful and impressed -- it really made me want to learn more about car maintenance. PSA: check with Bellflower Automotive before you buy an entire taillight component like the parts shops and even dealership parts dept says you need. The city of Bellflower has a lot of small businesses that are really dedicated to helping their community. not only do they charge reasonable prices but they get the work done efficiently and timely. Sometimes it's difficult to get through on the phone and I feel it's because he's overwhelmed with work and understaffed, which most of us are nowadays. Been coming here for years since I've lived in the Lakewood/Bellflower area. Hector, the owner, has fair prices. A bit brusque if you ask me but does not detract from the quality of service your car receives. Recently brought a Mazda 6 I was trying to buy for an inspection, which confirmed known maintenance needs about the car as well as revealing previously unknown issues. The inspection was thorough, with the mechanic taking about 30 mins, including placing the car on a lift and taking it for a test drive. Afterwards, he gave me a verbal walkthrough of all the faults found as well as a paper copy. With this knowledge in hand I was able to negotiate a lower price for the car. Will be bringing back here to fix said issues for what I'm sure will be a fair price. read more

I just went in for a broken break light as well as installment of a door handle that had broken. Juan took care of it and he's really nice and helpful. He told me that I needed to also fix the lights over the license plate so I wouldn't get a ticket and he gave me a good price for it. It didn't take more than 2 hours to do everything and they were playing a really good Netflix documentary in the waiting room so it went by quick. I had been needing to get my starter fixed when I stopped to get gas in front of this shop. I have a friend who's a mechanic who was going to fix it that coming weekend. Took my Jetta here to see why the check engine was on. They did a test on it, and told me that the pistons were misfiring. They told me that to fix it, they had to take the engine apart and take out the pistons They said that they would charge me $2,500 for the job. I took it somewhere else, they still said that the pistons were misfiring, but instead of changing the pistons, he tried testing the spark plugs coil. Sure enough there were two faulty spark plugs. They got changed, and it turned off the check engine light and it fixed the problem. For less than $100 bucks. Versus $2,500. Can't trust these guys anymore. read more
