Purchased a car that was worked on by this shop (According to my Carfax report) and the A/C Compressor that was supposedly replaced in January, had no refrigerant in the system, Reached out to see if the accumulator/ drier was replaced, no response, Opened the system flushed out the uv dye and stop leak. only to find out that the "new compressor" failed. Went to do the first oil change and had to use 2 cheater bars to loosen the drain plug. I don't think this place knows what a torque wrench is. I don't know much about cars so showed my invoice to couple friends and jiffy lube mechanic and they were shocked. Alternator/a pulley/valve gasket the parts mike charged $500 and labor another $500. 1,000 total. Even the gentleman at jiffy lube where I'm getting oil change right now outlined how much of a rip off it was and how it's an hour and a half of work and how much the parts cost. My fault for not shopping around and trusting them. Friend texted me: "Yeah you got ripped tf off oh my god... alternator probably like 150 most. Valve cover gasket another $30. Pulleys another $30. You got charged over 700 off straight labor. My shop would've charged like 150 labor" and then jiffy lube guy said the same. So yeah def shop around and do your due diligence before forking over your hard earned money to these crooks. Please serve the community not rip them off. That's not how you win over customers and earn repeat business. Very disappointed in myself for trusting this shop. Garbage. Henry at Honda/Acura Independent Auto Service on Ramona and Clark right near this place is much better. I should have gone back to him instead of trusting this shop. He gives you an itemized list how much he spent on parts on invoice. So much more professional. Mikes will try to see just how much they can rip you off. Bad faith people. They really don't know what they are doing. I took my car to get the AC repair and they "supposedly fixed the water pump and the air compressor and another electrical piece". Yet, instead of fixing it my AC was not working when they returned it. Plus I had to pay $800. I ended up having to take it to the dealership to get it fix. Then I went back to get my money back. I trust Mike. And here's why: The AC in my beater car just randomly went out, in the middle of a 100 degree heat wave. I took it to a Pep Boys down the street from work for a quick diagnostic since I wasn't near Mike, who has been my go-to. Pep boys said it was my AC clutch that needs to be replaced which is manufactured together with the compressor. $400+ repair. Great! Yea right, I didn't buy it. I took it to Mike, who diagnosed it the right way. Turned out to be a relay, $40 fix. THAT'S why I trust Mike. He told me the truth and didn't try to sell me on a costly "repair". I brought my mom's car here for an oxygen sensor replacement and when I picked up my mom's car I noticed he swapped out my mom's all four tires with old ones, when I confronted the owner, you can tell when a person just got caught up. But before all this happened, I brought my is300 there for a check engine light reading and they told me it was my catalytic converter and it's gonna cost me 1500 to replace. I said forget that your crazy! So I brought it to my friends place and all he said was to replace the o2 sensor on bunk 2 and the problem was 120.00 solved. Watch out consumers. I recently bought a new car and had to get a smog check. I was quickly tended to and greeted. I paid $40.00 for my smog which is a fair price. My car was seen right away and I sat and waited inside where there were chairs and magazines. The smog check took less than 30 minutes, it was by far the quickest smog check I've had. Also, the brake light kept coming on so while he was doing the smog check he fixed that (free of charge, and without me asking). How awesome is that? On top of that he offered me general car advice and was very friendly, kind, and honest. Definitely will be returning here if I have any car issues. Getting your car fixed is scary. Most mechanics screw you over and it's hard to know where to go and if prices are fair or not. Of course every place is out to make a profit but I felt very comfortable here. read more

This is a horrible place. They service the cars that are sold on the Ideal Motors lot in Costa Mesa. I bought a car there that was covered by a warranty which included servicing at this location if anything went wrong. About 700 miles into my 1,000 mile warranty my steering pump goes kaput, which is normal, steering pumps go out, so I drive all the way to Bellflower to get it taken care of, they deal with it pretty quickly after the part comes in, I go to pick it up a week later and the minute I turn it on the squeaking and grinding sound is back. I tell Mike and he says give it 20 minutes. I let the car run for 20 minutes, they turn the wheel back and forth and it's still making the noise and then they send me home, hoping that the air will purge itself on my long drive home, but it didn't. When I start my car during that week after I got it back, bubbles are coming up, seeping out of the steering pump reservoir cover, telling me that there's still air in it and it's not going anywhere. I drive all the way back to Bellflower, they take care of it while me and my kids are having breakfast right down the street, we get back and it's ready, which seemed strangely fast, but of course, who would complain about that. I get in the car, get on the freeway to head to LA, the top off light comes on for my radiator fluid, another strange thing since the radiator fluid has nothing to do with the steering wheel fluid, I call they tell me to fill it with tap water and it should be fine. I get to LA, park it for a few hours, head out by myself for an errand and when I get back to my car after shopping, it won't start. Turns out there's a bunch of stuff wrong with the car, although, at this point we don't know what's causing it to not start. The problem is, they're the ones that serviced it before I even bought it so here are the problems, the battery wasn't actually the battery for the car, it was a smaller battery, held in place with a piece of foam so it didn't slide around under the passenger seat. A lot of the wires under the hood were pretty much held together with zip ties when they were supposed to be clipped unto parts of the engine. The engine cover wasn't made for the car, it was jimmy rigged to fit. The battery charging port under the hood was not covered with the standard rubber piece. There was oil on the camshaft sensors. I don't know if the car not turning on is due to something they did, but it makes me wonder if I hadn't gone that day would my car still be working, because obviously some things were touched that weren't supposed to be, like something that had to do with the radiator fluid. The fact that my steering pump was not purged of air lets me know that they do lazy work. I hate to still think that mechanics are scamming people but, I guess if they're dealing with people who don't know anything about what they drive then they can do that. I wouldn't trust them or anyone else they associate themselves with. read more

Buyer beware! Please read all reviews before going here!!! I came in for a routine check up on my car and there was an issue that came up. The guy quoted me a ridiculous amount and told me if I went elsewhere I wouldn't find it cheaper. The man, assuming I was a naive woman, tried to take advantage of the fact that I don't know too much about auto repair. One thing is for sure that I do know that a simple repair shouldn't be quoted at $300. Took My range rover in after the Range rover deal told me it was the transmission that needed to be replaced, i spoked to mike who was extremely knowledgeable and diagnosed the vehicle. I got a call an hour latter which mike told me there is NOTHING wrong with my transmission, it's because i had one off size tire that was causing it not to shift. Went from a 12k bill at range rover to $200 tire. Definitely recommend family and friends. read more

People beware, do not take your vehicle here, we bought a Mercedes from a place in Signal Hill that referred us to this place, so soon enough we had power steering problems, they fixed it fast ok then soon after that again problem with another part related to power steering, towed it there fixed fast and a few days later a wierd noise on the power steering, took it back to them, they said that it was low on power steering fluid, they added the fluid and a couple of days after same freaking noise, I bought a bottle of fluid poured some in and again same thing, so it turns out it had a fluid leak, from the careless and poor job they dId, not proffessional at all. I don't trust my vehicle to be worked on by these guys. I am going back to the place I bought the car from and share my experience with the shop they recommended. read more

Been coming here for at least three years. It was a referral from a friend that is pretty anal about his car and other things. I first brought a commuter car (honda civic) that we use. We told them we would most likely sell in a few months but want to maintain it. He gave us a quote and what we should do and what we can hold off on. I thought that should some integrity. The bill was reasonable. I later took the family car a Volvo xc 90. This car has always given me some trouble. I've taken it to another shop locally that specializes in Volvos however for normal maintenance I thought I should take it here. Even though it's busy there they always accommodate me and ask if I need a ride home. They always have my car ready by end of day or sooner. If it's going to be late they tell me way ahead of time. A couple of times they change my brake lights and its a pain to remove the XC90 tail lights (no extra charge for labor or the bulb) Mike is big on customer service and reflects with the rest of the staff like Joe. I've even taken my babysitters Toyota Camry here and they gave me a good comparable price for everything and had it before the end of the day. (Brakes, oil change, axle change). I do not take my Benz as it's still in warranty however looking into getting a previously owned prius for gas saving since I drive a round so mush for appointments and showing homes so I'll be sure to have it inspected with Mike's auto. They do have a waiting room so if you need to get your car smog you can get it done here as well. A TV is present so you can lounge if needed. I've recommended this place to a few folks as well. read more

This place will try to rip you off . Took my car in to be fixed, they did a diagnostic on my car and told me it would be about $450 to fix the issue and my car would be ready the next day. I also ask for pricing to fix my gas gage and horn. They inform me that will be another $450. . .how? Anywho I pay for the overly priced service. I pick up my car and THE NEXT DAY my car still isn't starting. So I take it back and they say it's because leaves got in the area that they supposedly fixed, sure. Only after having a man call and speak with then did they suddenly change their tune saying if I have any other issues to bring the car back. My gas gage still doesn't work so I essentially paid 450 to have my horn fixed and when I drive I smell burned rubber so I'll have to take the car back in. Clearly this place is just doing the bare minimum to get cars up and running instead of fixing the actual issues. I pray someone doesn't end up seriously hurt after getting their car "repaired" here or this business won't be around too much longer due to a lawsuit. read more
