Our company worked as an independent contractor for Bellhop until June 2025. We stopped accepting jobs from them due to low pay and ongoing issues with their business practices. Since then, we have had absolutely no business relationship with Bellhop. Today, I woke up to find a $485.47 debit taken from our account by Bellhop with no prior notice, invoice, explanation, or authorization. We do not owe Bellhop money, and there were no unresolved balances when we stopped working with them over a year ago. What is even more concerning is that I have been unable to reach anyone at the company who can explain why this charge occurred or help resolve the issue. Taking money from a former contractor's account more than a year after the business relationship ended, without any communication or documentation, is unacceptable. If Bellhop believes this charge is legitimate, they should be able to provide clear documentation and an explanation immediately. Until then, I am left disputing an unexpected withdrawal and trying to get answers from a company that appears unwilling or unable to respond. Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage other contractors to closely monitor their accounts and carefully review any agreements they have with Bellhop. Transparency and accountability are essential in business relationships, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here. read more

Worst experience ever. Ordered 3 movers and a truck for 4 hours. 2 movers and a truck arrived late. Then, the movers spoke no English and were rushing my move. Didn't listen to moving instructions and missed multiple items, stood on my furniture without my permission, drove off with my stuff without communicating they were going to the new location even though they needed to wait for me to get the key and they did not issue a refund even though it caused me to have to ask for an extension moving and get more help since they missed multiple things. Will never use them again. If it is not bellhop movers, they should've communicated that in advance instead of making it look like in the portal it was one of their movers. Also, offered no support for the complaint or remedy to fix the issue since everything is through AI even though they are overpriced and you are paying for professional movers. read more

This is a review of the customer service via the 888 number, not the local movers. I rescheduled my move via their portal and thought things were set. When I got a text about my move yesterday, I called to confirm my rescheduled move and got the AI that opened a ticket for me that no one responded to. This morning I got a message that my movers were on the way. So I called again. I finally ended up speaking with Mark. He was very rude and condescending. He would not let me finish my sentence, and had zero empathy. While I did initially reschedule due to personal reasons, the elevator in my building is down, which makes moving from the 8th floor an issue. They want to charge me a $200 change fee for a move that I rescheduled in their portal two weeks ago. Terrible service. read more

Bellhop was easy to work with initially, but as our move came closer it was very difficult to communicate to ensure a smooth move. The day of the move our movers were an hour late and our truck driver was waiting for over two hours, since he was early. The driver kept asking me where the movers were, as if I was in charge of organizing this operation. Evidently they piecemeal their operations so there is no consistancy with communication between the parties involved. The movers on our delivery day were also late, and had never contacted us, so we had to go through the Bellhop service line to try to track them down. We ended up hanging out with our driver, who was early again. He informed us that this is very typical of Bellhop and there had been customers who had waited up to three days for movers to show up. That kind of freaked us out. The movers are NOT professional movers. They appear to be hourly workers, which is fine, but they could have cared less about our things. One of our mattresses was ripped up and our sofa now has a permanent dent in it. We made the claim for our sofa and received $60 as our settlement, which won't replace or pay for repairs in the slightest. Our guest room mattress that got ripped up got denied for the claim, because we didn't see the damaged until we set up the guest room after the 5 day claim window. If you do book with them, be sure to have everything unpacked and set up within 5 days in case you need to make a claim. read more

Wow! NEVER AGAIN!!! First, one of the movers fails to show up, making the whole thing go slower/take longer. Their solution was adjust the rate (adds time so it's the same cost, but I lose the time and they're more tired/overworked). None of them were able to communicate with me, not even the lead. Google translate helped with a few words, but this is what my wife and I have spent our lives working towards, our kids stuff, our belongings... I want to be able to talk to them about the process. I want to be able to ask questions. I want to be able to help... calling got me nowhere, except to hear from the support agent "this is in Texas and all of our movers are Spanish speakers and most do not speak English, too." The communication for this move has soured the excitement of a new start/new home. Never again will I use or recommend Bellhops. read more

If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would.  I WOULD NEVER USE BELLHOP AGAIN!!! AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND YOU DO EITHER! The driver showed up on time and the other workers about 40 minutes later. They did not really come prepared with supplies, no blankets, wrap or cushioning or straps to secure anything.  The didn't disassemble the bed frame and layed it on its side on a textured concrete walkway. The mattress was shoved in the elevator and just kind of left there unattended. The dresser was dropped on it side and the overall experience was not worth the anxiety or stress.  When we arrived at our new house is when the real fun began. Basically every piece of furniture was damaged from just being placed in the trunk on there side. Without protection, they crushed several boxes by playing heavier boxes on top of them. Lucky not much of the contense were damaged. We are still unpacking but two items were broken. But worst of all is they damaged my HOUSE!!!! They apparently got it with other the truck or lifting something off of the truck.  We hired movers so that it would be less stressful as I have severe anxiety and PTSD from my time in the military. Had me wire them $3200 deposit and then doubled the charge for the move from $6000 to $12,000 and wanted more cash wired before they would move our furniture, even though we had a binding contract with a specific inventory. Do not use this company ! I have tried them 2x in different cities and both had the same result . I booked 2 movers for 2 hours , and both times one person shows up and says the other person is coming in an hour . So I am paying for one person to sit around because they can't move dressers and other things by themselves- reason I booked 2 people! I canceled my reservation the second time this happened to only get an email later saying I will be charged $240 for late cancellation, when they couldn't provide me what I reserved . They are very unprofessional and don't train anyone on moving either so expect damage to your walls and furniture. If you call to speak with someone, forget it, you get AI. Then you MIGHT get a call back; it won't be quickly, and typically the person calling back about the issue is inflexible. Movers needed, got the quote for 736 sq foot apartment. One man and one woman show up to move contents from third floor to uhaul. I was quoted $300 for 3 hours and promised It would be loaded and unloaded in the 3 hours. Woman can't lift couch, man allergic to cats, broke nightstand and now want to charge by the minute to unload at the house because they severely underestimated the time to load a small apartment with one man and a woman. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I hired them for a move from Tampa to Charlotte. The only good interaction I had with them was scheduling the move (of course), and the kids doing the actual labor were nice enough -although they were very unorganized. Everything else left EVERYthing to be desired. First, the guys show up to pack my stuff into the truck but they didn't have any supplies. Or even a truck.... because the driver was late. They came with no plastic wrap, no extra boxes, no blankets, nothing. Luckily, I had a lot of extra wrapping plastic that they were able to use. Next, since the driver was late they weren't able to load my things into the truck which pushed back the entire day, and we were supposed to get an early start. Finally, hours after he was supposed to arrive, the driver shows up. Once we got to Charlotte the next day, the driver arrived semi on-time and the kids promptly unpacked my items. Great. They even unloaded my items without incident, so I thought maybe it was just a bad start. But once I unpacked everything, I realized they lost an entire box, all of my vacuum cleaner attachments, and a bar to my weight set (which is now useless without said bar). The box they lost contained essential work items such as my keyboard, monitor, tv cords, etc, all of which I had to re-buy. However, I wasn't too worried because I purchased the extra insurance that guaranteed they'd replace the monetary value of any items that were lost or damaged. Pah! That's the biggest joke and rip off of this whole thing. I submitted a claim which I promptly filed after I noticed my missing items. I even made a spreadsheet that very nicely included links documenting the cost of everything, and any receipts that I still had of the missing items. All in all, it was maybe $300-$400. I didn't get a response until ALMOST A YEAR AFTER THE MOVE, when an employee named Tameka Jacoway tells me she reviewed my case and has determined that I'm not entitled to receive any funds for my claim. What is the point now?! At the very least, they should have returned the cost of the additional insurance, but they didn't even have the decency to do that. Just terrible. read more

I'm not typically the type of person to leave reviews, especially not negative reviews, but I wouldn't wish the moving experience I had with bellhop on anyone. To start - I recently used this company to move from a storage unit in Washington DC to Atlanta, Georgia. I was initially quoted for an amount around $3700. Because of the price, I wanted to shop around. I ended up accepting my quote on its last valid day, and because of this, my originally quoted price "expired" and the price increased a little over $100. They were able to offer me a "discount" of $100 to help "offset the amount". This should've been the first red flag as my quote hadn't technically even expired yet. Bringing us to moving day, I was unable to be present as I had already moved to Atlanta. I had a friend help orchestrate the move from the DC side. When movers are beginning and ending the move they are supposed to scan a QR code as a form of clocking in and out. This measures the amount of time they worked, but please be aware that they will do everything they can to NOT scan the QR code to clock out. Since I was moving my items out of a storage unit, the move only last about 30 minutes. When my friend prompted the movers to scan the QR code to finish, they refused to do so and said it wasn't necessary. About 45 minutes after my friend called me to tell me the move had been completed, the movers finally called me to tell me they were done. I asked them why they refused to scan the QR code to clock out and they claimed it was unnecessary and proceeded to ask me when and how I planned to send them a tip. Naturally, I wasn't planning on tipping them until after I had received my items so I could ensure the tip reflected the work. When I told them this, they kept asking me if I would tip sooner and specifically asked me NOT to tip them through the app as you are intended to do. Instead, they wanted me to send them money on Venmo or cash app. In an effort to get off the phone because I was on my way into work, I requested that the head mover send me his Venmo and told him that I would consider sending a tip sooner, but that it wouldn't be immediate as I was walking into my office. About 15 minutes later, I received a call from one of the other members of the moving team asking me when I was going to tip him. He continued to call me two more times within 30 minutes DESPITE me saying that I would not be sending the money yet. Not to mention, they made my friend very uncomfortable as they made multiple advances on her. Because of this experience, I reached out to customer service to report the behavior. Customer service seemed to be helpful as they mentioned they would report this behavior to their higher ups, but I never heard anything else from them regarding this. Upon receiving my items, every single piece of furniture was significantly damaged. As directed, I uploaded photos of every scratch, dent, and puncture in all of my furniture to the portal. Upon "review" of my items, I was offered a measly $200 refund. Let's refer back to the price of the move (almost $4000). The way refunds are calculated based off of damage is dependent on the estimated weight of each item. I can't remember the exact calculation they use for the refund, but it's something crazy low like 10¢/pound. That being said, they don't weigh a single item before offering a refund. I had a vintage wooden dresser moved that was originally $800 and it was totally destroyed during the move. Not a single surface was left undamaged. Since it is a fully wooden dresser, it weighs upwards of 200lbs, but they estimate the weight at 125lbs. If you try to adjust the weight of the item, they won't do it unless you're able to provide the original purchase receipt with the weight of each item listed. I told them I wasn't able to provide this because it was vintage, and they told me they aren't supposed to move vintage items and they only did it as a courtesy for me (absolutely CRAZY and dismissive customer service if you ask me). Do yourself a favor and use literally ANY other moving company unless you want all your items to be damaged, you want to be harassed, and you want horrible customer service. read more

As a mover of BELLHOP, I truly hate working for this company. They rip you off every chance they get and they don't even compensate for travel the way they SHOULD. Pay is awful for the work load, assessments of jobs are poorly done (or not even done) in result, work load is always more than expected. Customers are rip off every chance they get. Communication is poor when speaking to support or management. No Real Sense of Urgency! Working with other movers is fine but due to their lack of capabilities and causing damage, my result/ratings become collateral damage to their incompetence/incapabilities. There's not even enough jobs to go around for all the "pros" they hire on. So many more things that I can say that would be more of a detriment than benefit for this company and it's really sad. We were told to reach out to get an estimate repair cost and BellHop offered to give us less than half of the repair cost of the coffee table. We hired Bellhop to help move a 16' POD into a storage facility. There were two movers that showed up. The problem is the only reason I hired them was so they could lift the heavier items. One guy walked off without saying a word 45 minutes after arriving. I had to lift the heavy items myself, totally negating the reason they were hired in the first place. The other guy was good, so he got a nice tip. But as a whole this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I can not recommend that you do business with this company. This was the worse experience I've ever had dealing with a moving company. Everything that could've went wrong, went absolutely wrong. I booked with this company after reading majority good reviews online, only to end up choosing this company and having a nightmare of an experience. My driver should up at 10:06 am, a hour late. He said that he'd just got out of the hospital that morning with a hip injury, and that he planned on "taking it slow". I empathized on his injury but expressed my concerns about him not getting this move done in a timely manner due to his injury. He assured me that he would be okay but this was the least of my worries. The movers showed up with just a truck. They had no tools, nothing to protect my belongings, no wraps, no plastic, NOTHING! I informed the guy taking my reservation that I had beds that needed to be assembled and reassembled. Because the movers had no tools, they asked me to go to Home Depot and rent a drill. I ended up taking a half hour to purchase a drill and drill kit so they could complete the loading of my furniture. When I pull back up, I saw all of my mattresses on the ground outside halfway out of the mattress protector I put them in. I had to ask them to pick them up. After 3 hours of loading they get ready to load the last few items which are 3 TV's. One of the movers asked if I had a box and I told him "no" and never heard anything else. That is until we get to my new place and they unload all my items off the truck. 2 out of 3 TV's were damaged, with one of the TV's being completely inoperable. The movers said that the TV's had a minor cracked but worked fine. I should've known something was terribly wrong when they left them leaning against my wall downstairs instead of setting them up in the proper location like I advised. Before leaving, the movers told me they started a claim with their company and everything would be taken care of. As soon as they left, I brought each TV upstairs to put in the correct bedroom. When I got to my master with one of the TV's I noticed that there wasn't just a "small crack" but the legs were broken completely snapped off my tv. The TV can no longer stand on its own! The "small crack" led to the trim breaking off around the entire tv. When I got the second TV upstairs in my son room, I noticed that his dresser was not put back together underneath the bed where they belonged. The movers didn't even finish reassembling the bed frame and have lost the screws and track. I plug my sons tv in and it's cracked right up the middle and completely inoperable. As I peak in my 3rd bedroom, I also notice that my child's dresser was damaged. They ripped the drawers out and were unable to put them back in. Those drawers were not meant to come out of the dresser. They just left the drawers stacked on top of the dresser. They also ripped the drawers out of my dresser, which were not meant to be separated so now I have two severely damaged dressers that have to be replaced and a bed frame that is missing drawers because of the movers were inexperienced and unprofessional. I filed a claim for my TV's and the company initial offered me $57. What a slap in the face! I explained to them the amount of damaged caused from this one day of interactions with their representatives and all they came back with was $100. I have hundreds of dollars worth of damage done by this company and all they can offer is 10% off. DO NOT use this company. read more

I used Bellhops twice. The first time they damaged a piece of furniture and I was told they would follow up which they never did. We somewhat blamed it on the move itself. We were going from a third story to a ground floor and the piece they damaged was heavy. We used them again and what a mistake. I provided over two dozen moving blankets for items they were loading into a pod. They didn't bring enough blankets or supplies to wrap the furniture that was going to the apartment. We asked them several times to wrap and protect items and they kept saying they were. They damaged most of my furniture and did nothing to make it right. They crammed a sectional couch through the garage door instead of taking it apart. Damage is extensive. My furniture was less than two years old and I have have submitted documentation on the condition before the move which verifies that it was in excellent condition. I have also emailed the CEO with a review and am still waiting for a phone call. Biggest mistake and worst moving company ever. Don't do it. Trust me you will regret it. My rating is ZERO because that is the lowest number of stars I can gIve. Response to Luke. Yes I had communications with your Claims team. The file will also reflect, as does my above comment, that many of our items were in a pod. I asked for assistance in inspecting the items in the pod and was denied that request. Was your expectation that we hire movers to inspect the items in the pod? If I was able to move the items in the pod I would not have hired movers in the first place. When we communicated the full extent of the damages we were then told that we had exceeded your timeframe which went against the extension you supposedly gave us. The initial settlement you offered was only for the items that were in the apartment. I responded to a survey from the CEO for bellhops when I read the language that stated if we accepted that offer we could voided our right to claim damages to the items that were in the pod. Keep in mind, when I moved into this exact apartment with the same amount of furniture and boxed, it took 2 guys 1.5 hours to move everything in. A guy would take some boxes and then disappear for 30 minutes then a new guy would show up. There ended up being 5 guys (which I didn't approve so now I was being charged per person) and between all 5 of them it took 4.5 hours to move my things into the truck. Ridiculous. We drive to my new apartment and the truck they were driving was giving off so much smoke from the hood it completely smoked out cars next to it. I thought it was going to break down. Then it takes them an additional 2 hours to move everything in. This time I could actually see the truck so they couldn't hang out in the truck between loads to rack up my hourly bill. And now there were 3 guys. Every box labeled fragile was smashed and pushed in, boxes labeled "this side up" were upside down. And one guy dropped a box and everything inside shattered and he just looked at me and didn't apologize, just picked it up and put it down. When they finished bringing things in, they were supposed to assemble my bed and desk, I just had surgery the day before and couldn't physically do it myself, but when they started giving me excuses as to why a 2 hour job took them 7 hours with 5 guys, I told them it was unacceptable. The "lead Bellhops guy" just threw up his arms and left. The rest left behind him with me unable to put anything together myself. Customer service was quick with response but when my bill went from $350 to $1200, they offered to bring it to $900 which is still ridiculously overpriced considering what they broke, the attitude they gave and the fact they went out of their way to rack up my bill. DO NOT USE THEM! They are horrible and do not care about your order at all! I placed an order for help only in Tampa and recieved an confirmation email. The day before they were suppose to arrive to help me load a pod they called to reschedule. Very frustrating, since when you move you definitely do it on a schedule. So, I ok them to come TWO days later, trying to work with them. Then the night before the RESCHEDULED appointment they called and tried to reschedule again for 4 days LATER! Who in the world has these much room in a moving schedule????? They were completely indifferent about they stress they had caused me. They are the worse! Look elsewhere! read more

movers were late to arrive to move my 1/1 from South Tampa to St Pete, literally just across the bridge. They were all super nice and friendly but worked at a super chill and laid back pace. It took 4 hours and I was charged for 5.25 hours until customer service took it back down to 4 hours as she verified the movers all arrived separately and at different times. Did a nice job and didn't damage anything. Still paid $430 which is outrageous. read more

Found Bellhop on Groupon. We discussed the rates and then a day later was shocked to see they charged our credit card double the rate we discussed. We were short on time and knew it would be difficult to find another mover before our move out date so we stuck with them. On moving day, 1 HOUR before the movers arrived we received a phone call that one of their employees was injured and cannot make it. The company has no backup plan whatsoever for situations like this and apologized. They even offered us a full refund. Are you kidding me? A refund? Yeah, no kidding you're going to refund us! They offered to send movers the next day at half price and then called back 10 mins later saying they fired their employee and now cannot move us at all. Meanwhile every single moving company and Uhaul reservations are completely booked. This company is unprofessional and does not care about its customers. read more

Great communication from the company and movers. Very professional and efficient. Very good value for the money. This move was a swap out of a bedroom and home office. It was all completed in an hour. Will use them again if the need arises. read more
