I came here to see Amber for a haircut. She did an excellent job! She listens really well and understood right away even though I wasn't even too specific of what I wanted. She talked to me during the cut and checked with me to make sure she was doing in line with what I was hoping for. I am very happy with the haircut. It is with some but not too many layers to show volume and at the length I wanted. Salon is very clean and cute. Located in heart of Edmonds right by the water. I have never written a review before, but as you can see from the pictures there is clearly a need too. I got my hair done with Amber and although I didn't have many expectations I never would've thought my hair would have turned out how it did. I have dark hair and have gotten balayage multiple times without any problems, however that was not the case this time. In the beginning, my only asks were for my hair to turn out NOT orange or yellow or for it to turn out streaky, and how I walked out with all three is beyond me. As you can see, there was no technique used to blend the hair and the sections bleached were absolutely random. That is why my hair goes from black to orange to yellow to back to orange. In addition to the horrid hair job, the service was also poor. She was unfriendly and didn't converse; only when I asked questions about the process did we talk. She clearly saw how upset I was and still had the audacity to ask if I was going to book another apt with her (paying almost more than what I had initially) to fix what she had done. If I could give this negative stars I would. Don't book the Groupon either - you will 100% regret it. read more

I am giving a strong 4 star review to Viktorea, who did exactly what I wanted/needed for my hair. I used a Groupon for this because I really just wanted a trim and most salons don't differentiate a trim from a full on haircut, which is generally anywhere from $40-$65. Yeah, no fucking way. So Groupon was the way to go here, and I chose bellissimo out of the other salon options on there due to the fact that viktorea has done my moms hair twice and did a fabulous job. My mom had cancer on her head a few years ago and now has a deep, large scar covering the entire front part of her hairline (no hair grows there) so it is very important she gets a stylist who can do the perfect sideswept bangs and layer combo to really hide it. You'd be surprised how hard it's been finding someone to do just that. But she loved the cut from viktorea so I knew I was in good hands. Also, the salon is absolutely adorable and quaint. read more

Ended up at Bellissimo after my hairstylist of 15 years moved to florida, and then her recommendation ended up sick the week before I had family pictures scheduled! I got a last minute appointment on a Saturday morning by calling the Friday before to see Jo. I get vivid colors and was absolutely thrilled with the results. Jo's confidence and talent was extremely reassuring for someone who had to find a new person after so long. I was only going to go that one time while the other stylist was out when I needed her, but it's safe to say that I'll be going back to see Jo. Best risk I ever took. read more

She didn't cut off too much like I'm always afraid is going to happen. She really listens to what you have to say and what you want. Really nice to talk to and she did a great job of fixing up my long, layered hair and bangs. I will DEFINITELY be back as this was the best haircut I've had since moving to Washington. This is the first time I have left a salon and cried. My stylist didn't do what I asked. Made it waaaaaay shorter then I wanted. I told her I wanted it not too short so I could put it up from time to time. She was 20 min behind to start, didn't even wash my hair.... shared with me that she had to leave in 30 min. She was super rushed. My hair is very thick, and requires lots of time. I asked to have it flat ironed and she told me it costed an extra 15.... really?! So I left the salon with super short, uneven huge fluffy hair. Not styled at all! I was informed to straighten it at home and if it's uneven or not looking right to come back in. Update: I called to complain about this particular stylist, and just share my awful experience. I spoke with the manager( who was really sweet and felt so bad) she offered me a free haircut for my next appointment with her. Thankful for that. read more

Being new to the area, I took to Yelp and Groupon to find a salon to try out. Bellissimo had a great deal on Groupon, and given their reviews on Yelp, I knew I had to try it out. I love the salon's look and feel -- clean, trendy, and in a nice area in Edmonds. I was booked with Viktorea for a 1pm appointment. I arrived about 15 minutes early, knowing I would have to wait for my 1pm appointment. When I got there, another stylist greeted me and told my stylist I was here for my appointment. I was told she was running 'a little behind' and when I asked how long 'a little' meant, I didn't get an answer... but, I figured 'a little' would be 10-15 minutes. I opted to sit in their comfy waiting area to flip through some magazines. It turns out 'a little behind' meant 40 minutes behind... yes, I didn't get into the chair until 1:40pm. Fortunately I had time to wait, but that doesn't mean it wasn't irritating to have waited that long. To her credit, Viktorea was apologetic. I took pictures and a sample of a hair extension for the type of cut and color I wanted, and Viktorea achieved that. She was very friendly, and once I was in the chair, she got to work quickly and I was in and out under 2 hours. I was happy with the results. The only reason this review is not any higher is because of the lengthy wait. I've never experienced such a long delay for a hair appointment before, and being that I drove from Everett (where there are several salons closer to home) it didn't really give me the best first impression. I may consider going back because I do love that my hair looks and feels great, but first impressions are everything... read more

I found this salon through Groupon (they had a cut, partial foil, and style coupon). The reviews on here is pretty much what made my decision on coming to this salon. I haven't been to a salon for probably a year (I usually color my hair at home) and obviously I was long over due :) I got my hair done last Saturday. I brought in pictures of the kind of color and layered look I wanted and I am so happy with the results! My stylist was Viktorea, and she was great. Love her outgoing personality and willingness to work with my hair (fine asian hair, sensitive, dry scalp). She made my time in the chair very comfortable and enjoyable, no 'awkward silence' like some other salons. I love how the salon had a 'vintage/boutique' vibe to it! Each stylist (from what I saw) seemed to be very talented and friendly. But I'd definitely come back and schedule with Viktorea :) ONLY negative - Parking....BUT I guess that's pretty much common with busy Saturday mornings and off-street parking :) read more

I hate to give this place only a so-so review, but I didn't like the cut. I tried to like it, but after 2 weeks I went back to my regular place to get it fixed up. Ambiance: hip, modern - noticed some IKEA pieces mixed with cool antique finds Parking: Downtown Edmonds, ehh, just depends on when you go - but you can usually find a spot The Cut: Well, she really seemed to know what she was doing - she was very fast and efficient, it just was't exactly what I wanted - ended up looking sort of frayed everywhere - like I didn't just get a haircut. She curled it, so it wasn't until the next day that I saw what it really looked like. She used thinning shears which no one has ever used on me, the result wasn't pretty. Service: Wonderful! They gave me a call letting me know they would be a little late which was okay by me because I was running late as well. When I got there the stylist immediately greeted me and was very friendly the whole time. I felt very comfortable and relaxed with her. Recommendation: I tried this place with a groupon. I think if you have a more clear picture of what you want, and bring pictures I think you'll be fine. read more

Viktorea was amazing! I initially purchased a groupon for a haircut and ended up at this salon with little expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was super friendly, salon was adorable and i admit i walked in a few minutes late and Viktorea was so nice about it. I came in with pictures of what I wanted and explained I'm a no fuss kinda girl when it comes to my hair and away we went! Viktorea and i chatted the entire time( and i dont know about you, but half my reason for returning is personality not just the cut) and when she had finished styling my hair asked if i was content. First of all, this is the cutest salon with such a positive vibe! It lifts you up just being in there. I go to Viktorea and let me tell you, this girl works magic. I started seeing her a few years ago when my hair was box dyed black and I wanted to go lavender... Anyone else would have probably turned me away (actually happened elsewhere) or had a hard attack but she took on the task and got me to where I wanted to be. I've continuously gone in with different ideas and she always makes it look better than I even pictured. I'm currently a golden blonde and Viktorea has shown me great ways of styling it and the right products to use. I've lived in WA for 10 years and have never found a consistent stylist....Until Now! I'm very happy to report that I will continue to come back to Bellissimo Beauty Bar. In the past I have found that great stylists are at hoity toity pretentious salons that made me feel like I didn't belong and more down to earth salons where I felt more at home had mediocre stylists. At Bellissimo I get it all - great stylist and great atmosphere. Each staff member made me feel welcomed and my stylist made sure that she understood what I was asking for and that I got it before I left. Nice salon and friendly girls that work there. I went here as a new customer off of a Groupon and while the customer service was alright, I definitely got a coupon haircut. I was cutting quite a bit off but it was still a lot shorter than she was telling me she would leave it when cutting, and incredibly choppy with chunks everywhere and 'shelf' layers.
