This person pushed for early morning appointment but never showed up. Wasted an hour of timing waiting for the guy but I decided to do the work on my own so never used their service. No wonder 1 star rating. The guy further argued that he was late for ONLY 45 min AND he tried to let me know that he is late. He LIED. After 30 inches of rain during spring 2011 for 3 months, my beloved big shamel ash tree definitely need a new hair-cut that is long due. I gave a call to Chris Bellizzi, the owner of Bellizzi Tree Service and had him visit my place to estimate the work. The operation cost for this work is within my expectation and reasonable. Chris offered me a 10% discount and required bank check as payment. After the day of operation is confirmed, I dropped a note to my surrounding neighbors and allow them to have attentions about the tree trimming as a courtesy. The whole team showed up @7:30am in my place with 2 trucks and 1 branch-chopper on time. It took the crew 30 minutes to setup everything and brainstorms for the trimming. From 8:00am to 12:00pm, the whole team worked hard to trim the tree and removed the extra branches. They also chopped the branches right on the spot. Two members are always up on the tree like acrobats and the others are down on the ground picking up branches and stumps. From 12:00pm to 1:00pm, they wrapped up the job by cleaning up after themselves. The big shamel ash finally got the good-looking hair-cut it deserved and the whole team did a wonderful job! I had two trees removed today. I received excellent service. The employees were very careful to make sure that the limbs didn't go into my neighbors yard. The ground the stumps of the trees, they made sure to safely do it. Very polite and professional people, they were fast and efficient, but not in a hurry. The price was better than expected. Chris saved our tree! We were told by a neighbor that our huge Modesto ash tree was cracking. We contacted the City of Saratoga. The arborist declared the tree dying and we could cut it down. We were very sad the tree is over 45 years old and provides shade in the afternoon. We called Chris and he came by within 24 hours to take a look and quote the work. The tree was cut back to reduce the weight and we expect it to recover with the "diet" Bellizzi Tree Service gave it. The guys were on time, did a great job and cleaned everything up. I can't stand this guy. It took 3 weeks for him to come out and give me an estimate. After approving the estimate he contacted me on a Sunday afternoon and said that he wanted to come out Monday AM. I told him that I was on a fishing trip with my son and that I wanted to be present when they did the work. My wife called me on Monday morning and said that the tree guys were here cutting the trees. I cut my trip short and arrived home late afternoon... too late, the trees were butchered. He also charged me $100 to move the patio furniture! There is another bad review for this company and the owner uses his back problems as an excuse... his excuse to me for taking 3 weeks to get the estimate was his truck broke down. Had a very good experience with Bellizzi Tree Service. We called after a terrible storm that did major damage to a large tree in our backyard. Half the tree had broken off and the other half was precariously leaning toward the house. Chris gave us a reasonable estimate over the phone via emailed photos. The team was out in a few hours and had the entire tree removed by end of day. They left the entire area clean and swept. Since the area was so wet they couldn't initially grind the stump but did come back to finishing the job in a reasonable amount of time. We were very appreciative of the swift service. I have a large Eucalyptus that I had Chris and his crew do several years go. He climbed it himself up 100 ft with block and tackle to trim this tree for over a day. They cleaned up great and left and I was very happy. Over the following years I had a few other tree service firms do a trim while doing other work on my property and ended up being disappointed in both the higher price and poor workmanship. The last time I needed the tree trimmed, I called Chris back. I reminded him what he did last time and how happy I was. He told me that he has become bigger had a few crews doing contracts with the city of Cupertino. He assigned a crew of his to come back and do the work. Well -- When the boss is gone -- they left doing 1/2 the job Chris did before and left debris all over the driveway. The big problem occurred in when I called and talked to Chris, he told me that he discussed the job issues with his crew leader and then told me that he said the job was done correctly. He did not even take the time of even coming to inspect it himself. Chris told me that since what I paid ten years earlier the prices had increased and if I wanted a full trim job, it would be much more than what he quoted. At the time he quoted, he never mentioned doing 1/2 job or full job and wanted to charge me close to what he did originally because I was a "repeat" customer. Well not anymore. In Reply to Chris's comment: What service company would call his customer a liar? What possible benefit would I have to make my comments unless a real issue existed. All he had to do was to come back and take a look at it while I was there to discuss it with him. I called him back a second time specifically because he did a great job himself when he lead the crew. it prices had increased, I would be more than understanding but he did not mention that when he quoted. read more
