Love staying here. Cabins so close to the beach and so quiet and peaceful. Got everything you need and a decent price. Can't beat it. My family loves it here and the minimart is so close that seems to have everything you'd need. Definitely will be staying here as often as we can. read more

What a wonderful place. It's a home away from home. The cabin has all the necessities, with a great little store nearby. The beach was gorgeous. It is tough to find a slot on the calendar, but worth the struggle. It is handy to have the rental shop too. Extra toys without having to pack them! You will not regret the trip! read more

While the beach is wonderful, the cabins are not. They have great potential, but they are very run down. They are cleaned very poorly. There is rust on everything, including the fridge & inside it. The rust on the curtain rods have leaked all over the curtains. The cabin is ridden with cockroaches. They flew all over, landed on kid's faces, screaming everywhere. Ha! The employee explained they were very understaffed & he apologized for the cabin's state. The feral cat population is out of control. We are kept awake by cat fights in the night, because we have to keep the windows open 24/7 or we would suffocate (no AC). I just broke up a fight between an adult cat & a very young kitten, they were directly under our bedroom window. So sad. I don't understand why these cabins are not being updated (to at least the 1980's, lol), or even being maintained. I hope they do something about the cleanliness and the cockroaches, at the very least. Ants, I can deal with. But cockroaches landing on my face as I am trying to sleep is a Nope. read more

This is for the beachfront cabins, not the condos. They have two bedrooms, living area with kitchen items and one bathroom. They are not modern and the furniture is very old. Beds creak, stove has rust, and couch is dingy. BUT, you're living on the beach and waking up to the sound of the ocean for $95. That's quite a deal. The store is nearby and not a complete ripoff. The laundromat is nearby and $3 a load. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat just for the convenience factor. read more

Its the most beautiful place ever! The cabins are not super fancy but they definitively do the work. Besides, I doubt you ll spend a lot of time in them. The beach is beautiful and for the most part is very quiet. There are no washers or dryers in the cabins but there is a place for you to do laundry, gas station, shop, subway, etc. If you are looking for bars and the crazy stuff then go to Waikiki... But if yo want to relax in the most beautiful beach ever with white sands, friendly waves, and gorgeous water then go to Bellows. read more

Loved this place!! We stayed in a renovated cabin. It had a tv a table couch a small kitchen and a small bathroom. Also there were two bedrooms one with two twin beds and one with a queen bed. It was nice to have a full size fridge and stove to use as well as everything needed to cool with and in just be sure to was everything first the drawers were pretty gross inside. I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the bathroom being a little dirtier than I would like the walls that the twin beds are up against are pretty horrible and I didn't want my kids to touch them and the drawers being nasty. I would stay there again I just know to bring cleaning supplies! There was a little shop where you could buy essentials as well as a subway and a laundry mat. The great thing was a playground right next to the beach and our cabin my kids loved it!!!! This beach has good clean sand as well it was well maintained! read more

It takes a few miles from the main road to the cabins but, we were pleasantly surprised of how close the cabins were to the sandy beach we enjoyed while there. We loved Bellows bc of the convenient store, gas station, laundromat and Subway. The cabins has a kitchenette which we used to cook breakfast before we start our day. The only inconvenience was, there was no AC but, no big deal, we're out all day and just needed the cabin to shower and sleep. It only takes 15minutes to the Kaneohe Marine Base that has a nice commissary and exchange. We will return to this location again. read more

I loved when my family would book a cabin here for a couple days. Especially, when we had the cabin closest to the beach. My daughter loved running down to the water and playing at her hearts content! The waves can get a little rough cuz it gets really windy out there. So keep an eye on your keikis when they go swimming or boogie boarding. If you are staying here for a couple days.. definitely hit the commissary or grocery store before coming here. There's a fridge and oven so you can cook meals in the cabin or have a bbq outside. read more

Love staying here. This has become our go-to place when visiting the island. Nice little cabins on a beautiful private beach, it really does not get any better than that. Stood in line to make reservations (no availability online), only to be told to come back in a half hour after they check in people. But then the people who were right behind me were able to make reservations...What?! Got to the front again, and the lady already looked like she couldn't be bothered. Great place to stay. Beautiful, well-kept grounds and a world class beach; no coral or seaweed, nice sand, gradual drop off. Close to Kailua, which has ample shopping and restaurants. The front desk staff is surly so be warned. Not sure why there need to be 4 of them either. There is an Exchange on base, but their prices are more expensive than off base for most things. We bought a $50 bogie board there and saw the same board for $30 at the Target in Kailua. You will need bug spray but they don't sell in on base. The cabins have coffee pots and the Exchange sells coffee and creamer but no coffee filters. The rooms have DVD players installed but they are not Blue Ray capable. Shortly after installing them the Redbox machine was removed from the Turtle Cove reservation building, so you will need to bring your own DVDs. The back of the Turtle Cove check in building was remodeled and is really nice. It's deserted most of the time because the restaurant that was there is gone. There was a coffee shop for a while but that's gone now. There is a bar, but it's only staffed for a few hours on Saturdays. Try to avoid the 300 number cabins which are further north past the Exchange, there is a pretty high seawall which means you have to walk south a ways to get to the beach. On the weekend there are large groups of noisy campers in the park area across the street. If you're assigned one ask for a different cabin right away, we tried moving after we checked in and were rudely denied, even though about a third of them were empty. This area made my jaw drop the first time we drove up. It is very remote and feels separated from the rest of Kaneohe. I almost can't describe how beautiful it is so you just have to go. My husband and our little ones came here on a overcast day to play in the water. It was warm but a little windy. This was still fine. The water was calm and would be great for kids. Just walking up and down the beach was amazing with the views and the sand. There is a mini nex that has everything you could need- snacks, some beach gear, camping gear, etc. Next to the nex is a really nice bathroom. There are indoor and outdoor showers. I was impressed with how clean it was too. I was able to put my daughters down in a stall and close the stall so we could shower and change. I could come here without anyone to help with my little ones and be able to get them cleaned up easy. There was also a subway right by the nex! Huge bonus! When we came out very little people were there. We maybe saw 10 in 2 or 3 hours. read more

Love the cabins! I live in Honolulu and once or twice a year we would go camping over at Waimanalo Bay. About 3 years ago, we started booking reservations for the cabins at Bellows (Turtle Cove Cabins). My husband is a DOD employee. Since then, we no longer do the camping in tents anymore. It is so convenient and easy for us now. My ohana loves it! If you go at the right time of the year, the ocean is soooo calm and the sun soooo soothing! I definitely recommend this to all our military guests who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and, to our DOD families, a better way to "rough it" if you're looking for a nice short vacation near home! read more

My father was stationed at Hickam Air Force Base (Oahu) from 1967 - 1972. My parents used to rent one of these cabins each year. It was our summer vacation! My sister slept in a trundle bed that pulled out from under the twin bed I slept in. The late 1960's was the best time to live in Hawaii.... and the cabins bring back fond family memories. My sister and I would swim all day in the beautiful turquoise waters of Bellows Beach...under much protest, we would be "dragged out of the water" for lunch and dinner. We used rough white styrofoam float boards to ride the waves in those days..and if you wore a bikini...you had a "belly rash" by the end of the day. The styrofoam board, combined with the salt water and sand.. gave you a wicked abrasive stomach burn. However, once out of the water... it was great to come up off the beach to a charcoal grill with the enticing smell teriyaki steak...that was complimented by sticky rice, fresh pineapple, and chilled guava juice. My mother could really "turn out" some gourmet "island meals" in that tiny cabin kitchen. My sister and I each had "chores" even though we were "on vacation". My chore was to sweep the cabin floor each day. Even though we took out flip-flops off at the door, (an island custom I practice to this day)...there always seemed to be enough sand on the floor to fill a sandbox. My father has since passed away, and today... the rest of the family is living in different parts of the globe. I have been back to the islands many times over the years for vacations. I often think about those little "no frills" cabins and the wonderful memories they afforded us. The cabins did not have TV...so many evenings were spent playing monopoly, scrabble, and a host of card games. When the lights were out...the ocean waves would lull you to sleep, and dream of "tomorrow" when you could once again swim in paradise! read more
