This place is super cute, but if you came for the fountain options, cuteness is where it ends. The ice cream is $4.50 for one scoop and $6.50 for two scoops. The cone is 75 cents extra. Of sure, there's always an option of a cup, but who wants that? So two scoops with cone, tax and tip will cost you close to nine dollars, which is really excessive to me. I hate when a business, nickels, and dimes you with the cost of a cone when they're already charging a King's ransom for the ice cream. My husband and ordered a single scoop, but they gave him two scoops and said they didn't understand. Is this another way of inflating the cost or do they really not listen? I eat here once a week and absolutely love the service, food, gift shop and sense of community. They have a creative menu of sandwiches with names that honor local culture and each can be made on gluten free bread. My favorite is the dragon! They also have great Ice cream flavors. This is my second time stopping in Bell. We came here the first time to see the Marble Quarry which was closed, unfortunately and I learned not open to the public. Across from Bell is a small park with a sign on it discussing the town of Tate and it's importance in the marble trade. Washington DC sources 100% of its marble from Tate and all of Arlington Cemetary head stones come from this marble. It is pristine white. If you want any chips for landscaping, you can come and find remnants of marble chips piled in the odd spot just about anywhere here. There is also the famous Tate House which is about a mile from Belles, not open to the public but used for weddings---it features a most beautiful pink marble called Etowah, which is no longer quarried---as far as I know---but I digress. This pharmacy is more like an old soda pub with ice crème, shakes, pastries, cake, coffee, and the odd paraphernalia of a small store. What looks to be an institution around these parts equals a good experience overall. I've driven past this place hundreds of times due to its proximity to my house. I have always wanted to stop by because it looks like one of those places that locals rave about because of it's by-gone-era'ness (if that's even a word). Bell's is located near the railroad tracks close to the booming downtown of Tate. Anyone that has been thru Tate can attest to the size of its intersection of 53 and whatever the road that was called Hwy 5 turns into at this point north of Ball Ground. Where the pharmacy is located looks to be an old shipping depot to support the railroad-driven area that was (and still might be) Tate. Tate is known for it's marble and the fact that the Old Federal Road aka Trail of Tears came through here. Not much else to see or do here. I assume that Bell's used to be a pharmacy-first location, which has now seen the pharmacy pushed to the back of the building, with the "soda fountain" style seating taking precedence. There are also other things being sold here that one would think should be locally sourced, but most are not. Think of a gift shop that happens to sell tasty sandwiches and ice cream. The sandwiches are expensive, but are of high quality with enough choices to satiate just about any dietary need and/or palate. The ice cream is oddly enough, sourced from a creamery in Michigan, but is of very high quality. I asked a friend of mine from the UP about Ashby's ice cream and he was very surprised to find it "down south", so enjoy it. The dead giveaway was the Mackinac Fudge flavor (note to Southerners, it's pronounced MackinAWWW). Now that I've been to Bell's, I will definitely be back to try another one of their sandwiches and to sample some of the Ashby's ice cream as well. It's nice to support places like this that are going by the wayside in other parts of Georgia, so the prices can be justified as long as the quality backs it up. In Bell's case, it does. read more

This place is seriously the cutest... a hidden gem that I didn't know existed. It's unique and the people are so warm and welcoming. The owner said it made her so happy to see people taking videos and sharing it. Aww. First I was in love with the photo op from outside--such a cute setup! Then inside blew my mind! The best unique gifts and many are affordable! That happily shocked me! My son was so happy that the strawberry ice cream had no artificial food coloring (allergies). Yay! So delicious! Their 'hidden' outside space along the side is so peaceful-- like a secret garden with lots of flowers and plants and tables in the grass. We will be back to try sandwiches, coffee, and buy some cute gifts for family! PS- they also have a small Pharmacy for locals and the owners daughter works there. Too sweet. read more

We stopped in this evening for our first visit here and got 2 waffle cones! The flavors all seemed so good! We tried the Butter Pecan and Jacked up Tennessee Toffee. We moved to Jasper, Georgia in March 2020 and used a small family owned pharmacy where we moved from. I was happy to find Bell's Pharmacy! Everyone is so nice and they keep you informed about your medications, have a drive up option where they bring it to your car and they deliver within a curtain distance! Oh, and they have an ice cream old fashioned soda shop with cute items you can purchase in the middle of the store. I won't go anywhere else :) read more

This is a nice place to stop for a sandwich, coffee or ice cream. We didn't have a sandwich but had ice cream and coffee. The coffee was freshly ground and excellent. You can also get espresso and other desserts. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They also have a gift shop and a pharmacy. I'm taking off a star since the food preparer did not wear a mask, although our barista did. They also have a hand sanitizing dispenser as you enter. If I visited again and all the workers wore masks, I would love to give them a 5 star rating. read more
