Wow, to say I found an honest and trustworthy auto repair shop amazes me. Granted it was an easy job, but we saved hundreds by not going to the BMW dealership for the service. They took us in very quickly, and the job was completed fast and perfectly. The people at the front counter were great to deal with and up front with the estimate, which was exactly as quoted. No BS charges like other places we have gone (like the BMW dealership). Will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Went in for a basic repair. They claimed the repair was done. Yet it was incomplete. Didn't get to far on the road. Stalled out. Brought it back. They spotted the problem. No discount or consideration and got charged more than twice as much for a minor issue that they should have caught to begin with. read more

I can only speak to the tire service, which is outstanding. Every time I've needed a patch or fix a flat, they're super friendly and efficient. They swap in/out my winter tires every season. I've even had free fix for a puncture. Reasonable prices. read more

If I was able to give 0 stars, I would. I won't go into details about what happened, but the unprofessionalism and lack of communication is absurd. When I asked for a meeting with the owner, to explain the multiple issues I had, he simply could not handle constructive criticism, stood and spoke over me, and was rude to the point where I was bawling when I left. Belltown Motors did a great job fixing my husband's truck after an unfortunate accident. They worked directly with my insurance company to have the vehicle assessed and approved for repair. Insurance paid them directly and we only paid the deductible. We received text/email updates all along the way so we knew the exact status. It did take a couple extra weeks then we hoped to fix but that was due to a supply shortage, not the shop. A++++ would definitely go there again (but hoping I never need to ) read more

Then I called Belltown to tell them my car was coming and needed a new battery. Well, I thought I would finish my experience with these clowns after they left me hanging for hours, waiting for a different tow truck when they then told me they WOULDN'T bring my car to my favorite repair shop Axlerod Tire, which is a 7 minute ride from their location???? They also refused to work on my car, when I told them all I wanted them to do was replace the starter, which was the obvious cause of my problems. Safe to say when I called them to give me another tow, the car mysteriously started when they arrived. So I told them to forget about it and I drove it to Axelrod Tire, where was promptly repaired. I have never heard of a company that was so unwilling to give me a tow to my garage and refused to do work on my car when I would have let them. These 2 operations are minutes from one another. I would suggest if you need any automotive care that you go to Axelrod Tire and ask for John. I just hope you don't need to get towed there.....LOL read more

Avoid this place at all cost! They are unethical liars and will cover up their mistakes. I called AAA to have my vehicle towed because it would not start. The driver from Belltown showed up and jump started the car with a battery pack but the car had no acceleration when it was running. The tow truck driver then decided to park the flatbed down the hill and roll the car onto the bed at an angle. Instead of rolling the car up to the flatbed and then hooking a chain up to it and pulling it the rest of the way, he hit the flatbed going around 10 mph and bottomed out the front of the Volvo. The car immediately started leaking fluid all over the bed onto the ground. I touched the fluid and realized that it was coolant. As he leveled the flatbed, the car puked out the remaining radiator fluid. He told me that he was going to call AAA and report that he possibly had caused damage to the car when loading it and that if my mechanic had to make any repairs to the radiator that I could file a claim and it would be covered. I had no reason to not believe him. He seemed very trustworthy and honest. My mechanic did have to replace the radiator at a cost of almost $800. I filed a claim with AAA and after almost two months they denied it because the owner of Belltown motors must have strong armed his driver into changing his statement and claiming he did no damage at all. AAA doesn't care about about fighting for me (their customer) and is taking the word of Belltown that they did no damage! Now I'm out $800 because of this unprofessional company refuses to own up to their mistake. Avoid our bringing your vehicle here for repair and if they show up to tow you, record every single thing they do. If you don't and they cause damage , you're screwed! I will be going to the BBB about this company and will be giving them negative reviews online and to anyone that will listen. We went to Belltown to fix the brakes and the lights on our horse trailer. When we arrived we paid our bill and then connected up the trailer. No brakes and the lights didn't work. It was a Saturday and they closed the place and I had to repair the lights myself. They had our trailer for over a week and couldn't make sure it was fixed correctly,... All 4 hubcaps were not correctly put back on by them and blew off on Route 2. There was no way I was going to trust the shoddy service to haul my horses from Connecticut to Florida so I had to hire a third party to transport our horses to Florida. Everyone makes mistakes; however, the biggest issue is they have fought the credit card dispute when they should have taken responsibility for their mistakes. One word "AVOID"! read more

We have terrible experience with Beltown motors . They change oil and forgot to put the cup and spills where all over the driveway and engine . We have to pay for the cleanup of our car and driveway . So my wife told them that and they said sorry . NOT ENOUGH . For exchanging tires we paid double what dealer charged us with alignment . If they will loose some business maybe they will wake up . read more

The owner (Mr. Flannery) is an opportunist who will charge you triple what CT allows for a non-consensual tow if you make the call instead of a police officer. I had a rented F-250 from Home Depot which got stuck on flat grass at 3:35 in the afternoon behind my house and he charged me $340 for his driver to do 40 minutes of work using just his winch on a standard tow truck! Beware of when you call up and ask for the price up front as the law allows and his office staff tells you that it depends on what vehicle they end up sending. That is a clear signal that Belltown intends to to rip you off and charge you portal-to-portal on overtime when the charge should just be for time spent on site on straight time. read more

While driving from New Haven on Route 66 northbound on Labor Day, 2020, ,y car suddenly lost power due to an as yet un-diagnosed problem (timing chain or an electrical part failure) Dave came to my rescue and was thoroughly professional and courteous as he arranged for transporting my 1990 Buick Estate Wagon to the repair shop. Without Dave's help I would probably still be sitting by the side of Route 66 in Marlborough just before the Hebron town line. read more

I got towed in to the shop by AAA after my truck would not start. The tow truck driver said it needed a new battery because it was cranking slow. The mechanic puts a new battery in and its totally dead and the lights wont even come on. They tell me it needs a new starter. I explained the slow crank and now nothing how does that happen. I look under the hood and wiggle the battery terminal and it falls off. Another guy comes out and says they don't have a new battery terminal. It turns out their new battery was dead and they didn't have another one. I had to go next door to the Napa parts store buy a new battery and put it in myself. How do you tow me from my home and leave me there and close the place. read more
