The vet techs and doctors are always so great at explaining things and transparent about costs. I can tell they genuinely care about animals. My dog was never socialized before we got him. We got him during Covid and he was (roughly) seven months old and was found in a barn in Yakima along with four other dogs. He's friendly, but always sooooo scared in social setting, especially at the vet. Timber Ridge is always so patient with him and they never make me feel bad about his social anxiety (something I've experienced at other vet clinics). On to my experience yesterday, I brought in my pup for an urgent care visit for a skin condition. I dropped him off and went home. After dinner, I looked at the clock and it was nearing closing time. I called and found out they had a vet emergency and it pushed everyone's appointment back. It was a Friday night, I'm sure the staff all had other places they would rather be, but they stayed open late, took care of the emergency, and all the pets under their care. I'm grateful I found a clinic that is so kind, patient, and caring. Keep doing what you're doing! I appreciate you all!

The care was excellent and the staff was compassionate and wonderful. This was my first time here and stress and worry were already very high because of my dogs injuries. The staff were so compassionate and understanding our grief. Another time, we had just adopted a kitty and she found my husband's fishing pole and got a hook in her mouth (catfish? This facility operates…read moreunder corporate/private equity ownership, and in my experience, the priority is extracting maximum revenue from pet owners in vulnerable, emotional situations rather than providing reasonable, compassionate care. Their billing practices are aggressive and egregious. For example, when an animal is hospitalized, you are not only billed for the medication itself, but they also charge an exorbitant dispensing fee, upwards of $50 or more each individual time a single pill is administered. These routine administrative markups accumulate rapidly and feel designed to take advantage of hospitalized pets whose owners have no choice but to rely on inpatient care. They also frequently over-bill and you need to go through each bill with a fine-tooth comb to ensure it is correct. It is quite obvious that there are internal leadership mandates to maximize billing. We went through the heartbreaking process of trying to treat my cat's lymphoma. In the end, despite spending over $20,000, the treatments were unsuccessful and we lost our cat. The financial strain made an already devastating ordeal so much more painful. In addition there were frequent unprofessional incidents with staff or doctors that required escalation. Escalation lead to zero results whatsoever. If your pet needs emergency or specialty care, consider alternatives like Timberline or independent, local practices that are not controlled by foreign conglomerates or private equity firms focused purely on profit margins.

We have looked into all the cat boarding places in Port Orchard and Gig Harbor. TeddyBull's Cat Boarding is the only place we would take our cat. We have used TeddyBull's on three occasions over the past three years, from a three day visit to a two week visit for our cat. Each time Suzy (the person who owns and operates Teddybulls) treated us and our cat with high regard. The boarding room is a separate room, but part of her home. The cages are large, not the small cages seen at most vet clinics and boarding houses for dogs and cats. Each day, she gives each cat time outside of the large cage to explore the room. There are two large windows for the cats to climb up to and look outside. Suzy also spends time playing with each cat, each day. Once, we had forgotten the cat's bag of treats. No problem, Suzy went to the store and purchased the treats on the very same day we had texted her about our mistake. Suzy loves cats and we will only take our cat to TeddyBull's Cat Boarding.

By 12:38 PM, no one had arrived, so I reached out to Happee Groomers via Messenger (the only method I've used to communicate with them). I received a quick response stating: "Katrina, we spoke with your husband. The groomer came in today with an eye infection, and all appointments had to be rescheduled." I replied that I do not have a husband and explained that I had rearranged my plans for the day based on this appointment. I also asked if I was speaking with a human or an automated system. I was told I was speaking with a person and that all appointments had been rescheduled, but that Natalie may have had me on her personal schedule. They offered to have Natalie reach out to me. I then asked for the representative's name, and she identified herself as Dakota, the Operations Manager. I asked how this situation occurred--specifically, how my appointment was not accounted for and whether it had ever actually been on the official schedule. Dakota responded that she had been trying to contact clients after learning that Natalie had a medical issue and was unable to drive. She acknowledged the situation, apologized, and explained that some things "slipped through the cracks," especially during a recent transition to a new booking system. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, the lack of accurate communication, the incorrect assumption about contacting a "husband," and the apparent failure to properly manage scheduling are unacceptable. This is not a groomer I would recommend.

My husband and I had no problem as we didn't have plans for the rest of the day anyways. I somehow made an error and only asked for two dogs to get groomed when I wanted all 3 to be done. Well thankfully, we asked if she could maybe fit in our third dog for grooming and she was able to! I was so so thankful as we just moved to the are and our dogs were very extremely overdue for a grooming. She was able to get us in within a week of me requesting and was super fast to respond. I think we have found our new groomer! Edit: added some photos of my 2/3 happy dogs! My 3rd one is happy he got groomed, just older and grumpier lol. Also plus side is Natalie has a punch card for her business so after a couple appointments you get a grooming free I believe!

I put my dog into boarding August 17-21, 2023 with Shaggy Shack; Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. My dog has a muscle dystrophy disorder that effects anywhere in her body that has collagen. At less than 2 years old, she has severe arthritis in her elbows. I let Shaggy Shack know of her disorder prior to leaving her with them. I even wrote a note and taped it to her food container. I spoke with 2 workers, 1 manager, and then finally the owner. None of the stories matched with the others. When I spoke with Tonya, the owner, I explained how I received my dog and that her inflammation could only be that severe if she was not given her medication. Tonya said "the girls could have missed some medications, we're not perfect." I asked for a refund, to which she said "we won't be administering a refund because that would be admitting we did something wrong." My dog was returned to me with dried blood and sticky from pee, how is that right? I have no answers I'm satisfied with, only multiple stories of what may or may not have happened to my disabled dog. At this point, I paid to have her be grossly neglected. Tonya provided a med sheet 4 days later to try to claim they gave my dog her medication, even though my hydrotherapist (who I had look over my dog for other injuries) agreed her condition could've only been that bad if she had not received her medication. Tonya shifted the blame to me, saying "You chose to bring her to a highly stimulated setting instead of staying home with your handicapped pup." I trusted Shaggy Shack to care for my dog as if she were your own, as the website claims the business would do. I will not make that error again and suggest others not to as well. Do better.

I would highly recommend though. I like our home spot, but his one has something very special about it. Bernard loves playing with dogs, but when its raining at our normal spot he ends up sitting inside with some outside time and not a lot of dog socialization... or at least that is my guess. When he comes home on rainy days he is not all that tired. In fact he seems like he just hung around all day instead of playing. The first time we took him to Shaggy Shack it was raining and I thought he was going to come home not tired at all. Oh man was I wrong. He was knocked out and it was in a way that leads me to believe not only does he get to play with dogs, but he has moments of thinky time or play time with humans. I cant say for sure, but I love how he comes back those days. Clearly wore out from a day of fun. I really like this place but unfortunately its a bit of a drive to do daycare daily especially when we have an on base option right next to my wife's work. I will say though they are definitely going to be our go to for boarding. The one major downside to our normal spot is there are no options for drop off pick up on Sundays. A lot of our trip or time where we need to board is Just saturday evening. This gives us the opportunity to board and pick up when we return and not have to board an extra night. In addition we had a last minute boarding need when I was too lazy to get boarding scheduled at our normal spot and it worked out perfectly. I highly recommend this place. Its not on base so anyone can use. The place is huge. Staff knowledgable and friendly and overall I have nothing but positives about here. I wish their location was closer, but thats not a negative, just a desire to make my life easier.
