My partner and I recently bought a custom home in Round Rock and was connected through High Tech Flooring and Design to look at the different options and upgrades that we could include the house. The representative was super nice and supportive in helping us pick our our design and going through all the options to have available. In the sense, we also felt compelled to upgrade both the carpet and Padding, specifically the spill guard and upgraded carpet pile lengths. After 2 months later, and closing on the house, we noticed one of our floor was really squeaky and had to pull up the carpet to make sure we can drill it in.... and upon inspection, we realized what was installed was not the correct padding or carpet length. (Pictures displayed between sample and our carpet padding.) Spillguard is on the left (what we ordered). WE would not have known if we didn't have to also fix the squeaky floors - It's been difficult to get them to verify the correct padding, and getting a response from the office on how we can get it resolved. We brought it up, and requested that they bring in movers to help move the furniture and replace it, we're still in the process. They also had movers who wouldn't move back everything as requested - which made it difficult since my partner just had surgery on a torn ACL which meant we still had to request friends to support for something the company did wrong. They would also not verify the correct carpet that we upgraded. At this point, we believe this may have been an intentional intent to help save the company money. I believe they were banking that the new home builders would not have checked on the material that they purchased to help save on costs. MY recommendation - For anyone ordering carpet from High Tech Flooring, make sure you have proper documentation and verify when they are installing to ensure the correct flooring during the process.

Horton home, and the doors, door frames, walls, baseboards, quarter round, and flooring was in absolute perfect condition. Shortly after close, I hired High Tech Flooring & Design to replace the carpet in all bedrooms, closets, and master bathroom with the same flooring installed in the main areas of my home. I am HORRIFIED to say that they did a HORRENDOUS job and are refusing to repair the damages, which amount to the cost of the entire installation based on a quote received from a trusted third party general contractor. When I went to inspect the home, I was appalled to find the floors and baseboards covered in sawdust, the walls, doors, door frames, baseboards, and quarter round damaged. The wall texture has been damaged, there are marks, smears, and scrapes on the walls. The baseboards are absolutely shot to hell with dents, black scuffs and scrapes, the boards are splitting where they meet quarter round. The quarter round was installed so badly that it is splitting where it meets the baseboard, doesn't even flush with the baseboard, and there are exposed nails and wood chipping off the quarter round and baseboards. My bedroom doors have chunks coming out of them where the installers knocked the flooring into the door, and all door frames have chunks missing or have been scuffed, marked, dented, and damaged. They also uninstalled my toilet and attempted to reinstall it. However, I have zero confidence that they reinstalled it properly based on the abominable work performed thus far. As such, they need to hire a professional plumbing company to reinstall the toilet properly. When I confronted the project manager, Enrique Juarez, he told me I should expect damages and it was on me to cover the repairs. I attempted to reach his superior but am currently being stonewalled by the company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, as they are not ethical and do not care about the quality of services they provide, or in this case, didn't provide.

Unfortunately, it ended up being a bigger issue but Thomas's crew came out, identified the underlying cause and got everything fixed. They worked hard to fix the issue quickly and without much disruption to our daily life. Thomas was upfront with us on the work and the cost.

It took us a long time to make decisions so we were not able to use the bathroom for about 6 months. Juan's team worked over a period of 2-3 weeks, and did their work quickly. Juan was communicative, reliable, and did what he said he would do. His pricing was very competitive and fair. He recommended that we work with ProSource Austin for tile selection and John M. helped us with the tile, grout, and other items needed to complete the tile project. With every bathroom remodel, there are always surprises but I think Juan helped us through anything that came up. They helped us fix a builder error with the bathtub. His team did all the demo, tile work, and installation of the baseboards. Juan also arranged for plumbers, someone to create a quartz shower bench topper, and a glass company for the shower door. We did hire a painter and drywall repair company on our own but only because they were able to do it while handling another project for us. We are pleased with the work - the photos are not of the finished bathroom because we are still waiting on the delivery of a vanity cabinet from a vendor and then will finally be done. We didn't remodel the entire room as the cost of granite, new cabinets, electrical work, and fixtures is pretty sky high, so this was like a 1/2 remodel. The tile is beautiful and we are very happy to have our bathroom back! I will try to remember to come back and update photos whenever we can finally get our vanity installed. Highly Recommended…read more Over the last 18 months my wife and I remodeled our master bath, closet, and laundry room. I did much of the work myself (design, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC), but I knew the tile work was way beyond my capabilities--curbless steam shower, heated tile flooring, marble pencil trim and skirting. I chose JA Tile based on a strong recommendation from a trusted friend who has done multiple renovation projects in Austin. I'm very happy with the decision and completely pleased with the outcome. Juan, Giovanni, and Ivan were very easy to work with. Juan is a good communicator and very prompt and reliable--exemplary professionalism. Giovanni and Ivan did most of the work, and are true craftsmen. We were able to quickly and effectively work through (the inevitable) issues that cropped up, without any drama. ;-) I'll use Juan for any future tile work and recommend his firm without reservation.

She and her husband, Antonio, came out at a scheduled appointment (on time) and I could tell right away they were good folks. We talked about the job in detail and they gave me several things to think about. They were never in a hurry to get somewhere and answered all my questions with good answers and good advice. I hired them and the work started on time, finished on time, and they threw in a couple of nice touches that I did not expect, but certainly appreciated. I could not be any more pleased with the finished product and highly recommend them without hesitation.

They did a fast job and renovated my entire house in 1 month, which would normally take 2-3 months. However when I sold the house, the inspector found major issues including a deck that was built not to code. Normally it would be fine because TJ will cover the work. Unfortunately, the work was so poor that the buyers did not trust TJ to fix it and refused that option. In the end it costed me a lot of money to credit the buyers so they can fix with someone else. TJs did not credit me back when I brought it up. I notice when things are going well, it's great. When I put some pressure or call out some things, they avoid conflict and not be as communicative, almost like avoidant attachment style. Overall I do really like the entire crew but they did cost me a lot of money so that's very unfortunate. I'm very well connect since I flip houses and have many friends and investors looking for top contractors and I would have easily given TJs so much work but i have given all the work to other contractors after this situation.

WOW! Where do I start with these awesome people? We recently took a leap and bought our first…read morehouse... in a new city... and were not able to be present during most of the renovations. Needless to say, we were nervous as heck! However, Sal Sanchez and his team made our dreams become a reality and made it a breeze. Our new house was built in 2005, so it certainly had that weird "closed-off" style with very separated rooms. Of course we wanted something with a big, open living/dining/kitchen space with several updates. We had two walls taken down, an island built in, countertops changed, and all of the floors taken up and replaced with stained concrete... you know, just a couple of things! Oh, AND we had about 3-4 weeks from closing to vacate our rental back in Dallas. From the very beginning, Sal totally understood what we wanted and needed, even down to the details that we didn't know we wanted (like a push button garbage disposal). When the process finally began, he made sure to keep us up to date on all of the important stuff. If something were to stray from plan, like the sink we really wanted not fitting in the cabinets we had, Sal made sure to come up with solid solutions before bringing us the issue. Capital City Tradesmen really made our dream open space kitchen a reality! (And in a timely manner!) Sal gave us price and time quotes that were still both spot on in the end, even with several changes and a few hold ups. Having a few friends with home renovation horror stories, we feel like we seriously hit the jackpot with these guys. Not only are they professional and create amazing spaces, but they all seem to have an eye for detail in whatever their expertise may be. On top of all this, our AC went out for two weeks! Sal quickly came out to take a look at our unit to see if it was something he could tackle (it ended up being a whole unit replacement situation). He was also kind enough to immediately offer up his personal Swamp Fan from his home to get us through that heat. It's all in the details, and we have certainly felt taken care of when things needed to be done. We had such a great experience with these folks, they are back this week to do our master bath!
