My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by Kelly's Cajun Grill. For the price, it's hard to beat the value. The portions were generous, and everything was reasonably priced. We ordered the Honey Glazed Chicken and Cajun Shrimp combo with a drink, and the total came out to less than $30. That's a great deal these days. The biggest surprise was the sides. The chow mein and Cajun white rice completely stole the show. The rice was buttery, flavorful, and something I'd actually come back for. The chow mein was well-seasoned with great flavor and paired perfectly with the meal. The Cajun shrimp was decent. It had good seasoning, but I wish I could've had it fresh out of the fryer instead of after it had been sitting for a while. It would've been much better if it were hot and crispy. The Honey Glazed Chicken was also decent. Nothing particularly memorable, but it was tasty enough and complemented the meal well. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're looking for a filling meal without spending a lot of money. I stopped by Kelly's Cajun Grill at Ontario Mills and ordered the grilled chicken with rice and beans and veggies. The grilled chicken was pretty good--flavorful, although mine was a little more charred than I would have preferred. I think it would have tasted even better without that. I didn't care much for the rice and beans. There were very few beans, and the only options were fried rice or white rice with beans. I really wish they offered brown rice as a healthier option. The veggies were okay (cabbage and broccoli), but I personally prefer mine cooked a little more. Customer service was just okay--nothing overly friendly, but they were quick and gave me exactly what I asked for. It's a typical fast-food-style setup in the food court. They do offer sauces, including a chili sauce. I don't eat soy, so I skipped those, but I did try a little of the chili sauce--it was a bit too spicy for me. Overall, the food was decent, and I've been here before and will probably come back. I'd just like to see a few improvements like less char on the chicken and more balanced sides. read more

This is probably the best value of a meal if you don't feel like the other options nearby are going to do it for you. Located inside the Ontario Mills mall Food Court, Kellly's Cajun Grill is a nice spot to get some pretty delicious Cajun-style chicken. I have tried both their Bourbon Chicken as well as their Blackened Chicken - both are good, just depends on where you want something sweeter (Bourbon) or something more charcoaled (Blackened). Either choice will give you a choice of rice and boiled vegetables. At my recent visit, I was debating on which type of rice to get. Normally, I would go for the Black Bean Rice, which is a little bit more on the blander side, but at this visit, I saw the Fried Rice. I asked the guy on the line and he just pointed at the Fried Rice with the greatest certainty (haha...) and I was like O.K., let's try this one. Result: go for the Fried Rice. It's soooo good! There's about a dollar difference between the Bourbon and Blackened Chicken. The Bourbon is the extra btw. But combos are about $12-$14 (tax included), depending what you order. You may have leftovers, as the portions are quite huge here. So can feed two people, possibly. Worth a visit and a good value meal, will come back again for sure when I'm at the mall. read more

After walking around Ontario Mills, this was such a cool spot to stop at and enjoy a nice solid meal. The mall itself was pretty busy but the line at this place wasn't and it did not take long to go through and get the food. As you go through, you choose which sides and protein you'd like. I thought they gave a good portion of food! I don't eat a lot and was able to save half for the next day, and my boyfriend was able to eat the whole plate! The protein options we got were really flavorful, especially the pepper chicken!! It was actually really flavorful and probably some of the best pepper chicken I've had! The only reason I give 4 stars is because we both thought the rice could have been a little more flavorful for our own tastes, but it was still really good and I would definitely go back. On my way home from Carvana PPA Tour in Palm Springs today, I dropped by Ontario Mills to pick up dinner for my daughters and me. I have always enjoyed Kelly's Cajun Grill #1 Bourbon Chicken with rice and veggies. So that's what I got tonight. The lady just packed the box with multiple scoops of chicken and good portions of rice and veggies... shall I say up to the brim! Yes, I shall! Thank you miss! My tummy thanks you, too! LOL Atmosphere was a bit noisy since it's located in a food court. Fortunately, the line wasn't too long. I went up to cashier and paid for my food. Staff was nice and pleasant. I asked for a cup of water and they were happy to provide it. Afterwards, I was on my way to the next food stop LOL. I was in the line with mom for lunch. We were talking about which menu item to pick. It was my turn to order. The server girl skipped us and started to fill the order for the lady behind without even asking. I looked at her and the lady behind me. I said "ummm" in disbelief. This restaurant is inside the Ontario Mills Mall food court. You can usually find a seat even when it is pretty busy. It can get fairly loud when it is pretty busy. There are a number of large tables for big groups. Like most mall food courts there are restaurants with food from several different ethnic backgrounds if you are not excited about Cajun food. The mall lot does get pretty packed, but it is a huge lot and you can usually find a spot with a long walk even when it's very crowded. The servers here were just ok. They are nicer than many fast food places, but not super friendly, helpful, and efficient like some of the best take out places. Their food and order system is just like Panda Express and so much so that we wondered if they have the same owner. You pick rice or noodle to go with a protein and a vegetable in a sectioned takeout box from a buffet style layout served by the employees. We got the bourbon chicken and black pepper chicken respectively with chicken fried rice (.70 cent surcharge on our visit over regular rice) and noodle. Everything was just ok, not bad, not super terrific. The bourbon chicken tasted like Chinese char siu (bbq pork) and the black pepper chicken had a stronger pepper flavor, but similar to the same dish at Panda. Overall, the Yelp 4 star average on our visit is probably about right. One must remember that 2-3 stars is good for fast food on Yelp, under 2 means avoid, and over 3 is very good. We are not dying to go here again, but we would eat here again and recommend you give them a try to see if you like them. read more

I love this place. I can safely say i been coming here almost as long as Ontario Mills Mall has been open. It's like 21+ years or longer. Every time i am in the area, i hope and pray that this place is still there. I couldn't help myself and drove by recently, realizing they are still up and running and busier than ever, which made me more than happy. I love their bourbon chicken, noodles, and fried rice combo. On the menu, it's a #1, but you can modify it any way you like. I recommend the chicken fried rice upgrade. I introduced it to my girlfriend, and she now wants to know how to create this magical bourbon chicken. I would easily drive 30 miles to taste the beauty that is this chicken. Ambiance wise, you are in the middle of a food court, inside one of the largest malls. The food is always fresh and will be served very quickly. If you love cajun food or bourbon chicken, i recommend doing what i do and grab extra combo plates to take home for later. When I requested them to add more like the other customers they said it will be $5 extra but nobody in line was paying that. She was super rude. While the chicken and steak came out juicy, the presentation of the food was not up-to-standard. They either added too much sauce in the styrofoam box or the styrofoam box broke somewhere, but when I arrived in my car, sauce already went all over inside the plastic bag!!!! We use some kind of cushion on the car seat for the passenger side as well, hence it wasn't that bad to clean up. What a mess. And the sauce got my fingers all sticky! SMH. This weekend our family decided to exercise by walking multiple loops inside Ontario Mills Mall. Before we start our exercise we went to get some lunch at the food court. We chose Kelly's Cajun Grill because we wanted to try out their Chinese foods and Ya-Ka Mein (beef noodles soup). The food trays looks very delicious, I ordered the beef noodle soup like when I first ordered a few months ago. The food was alright, but the main issue is that I went with one other person and was charged about $20 more than the total given at the register. One of the plates ordered consisted of vegetables, fried rice and chicken. (Appx $10-$11) The second had steak (yes it's extra but was appx $17) chow mein, and orange chicken. We both got regular drinks and we even SAW the total being appx $33. My MIL paid for the food which she also recalled seeing $33 on the printed receipt. Later on when checking the bank statement, it said the restaurant charged her $52.74. We returned the following day and let them know that she was over charged. At first they immediately got defensive and said each plate ended up being $25? Not sure where she got that number from. But even IF we ordered the absolute most expensive items on the menu, it still would not equal to over $50 worth of food. We asked them to look back at the cameras so they could verify the information we were giving them, but they said it would be too much footage to have to review. So they offered us a free meal. My conclusion, not trying to point fingers. But please check your bank statements after the fact. I highly doubt it was a miscommunication and the employee rang it up incorrectly because we both saw the correct total on the screen as well as the receipt. I have been to this place several times and never had an issue until today. I was in the mall and ordered the bourbon chicken plate. The older Asian lady gave me a small portion of chicken. She only put half the amount on one side. I also noticed her demeanor was really bad with me verses other customers. Their plates were full while mine was half the amount. I wanted a refill on my drink and I noticed a couple in front of me waiting for their food (they were white). The same server was cheerful and happy with them. I walked up to get refill again her Demeanor changed. No hi or bye or thank you from her. I am not sure why you would have someone serving food that discriminates and give people less portions based off whatever reason she had. I came here with my family while browsing the mall. I ordered rice, chow mein, and sugar chicken. My dad ordered the salad with half blackened chicken, half beef steak. My little sister ordered the beef noodle soup, which was the only decent item we received. Notice how I failed to mention ordering shrimp? That's because we didn't. Yet somehow, inexplicably, I bit into my rice and was horrifically surprised to feel the texture of shrimp shells between my teeth. BEST SEASONING! GENEROUS STAFF! This gem may look like basic cafeteria-style Chinese food but they do the basics (chicken, beef, fish, soup) better than almost anyone else with a Cajun twist.
