But if one is craving some from the islands than you need to find the nearest Seafood City and get yourself to a Grill city. Is it the best? Nah. Is it pricey? Yahh. Is it good? Sometimes. Does it fill your cravings? ABSOLUETLY! Every Filipino Lola's/Lolo's (grandmother/Grandfather) makes each dish different. It will not be one of those omg reminds me of home moments (unless you live in the Midwest with a bunch of non-Asian descendants and only eat hamburgers and pizza for years) but rather, it satisfies the cravings. Have you heard of well, if you see the same ethnicities eating that food then you know its authentic, I believe that! I get all the reviews but this is based on my experience. It's a classic. Granted their grill city here isn't as big as other places... it does have all the fixins that you might want or need. All the basics. Yes, the line might be long during peak times but it is what it is. I appreciate the staff for hanging in there and offering their best. Shout out to the young ladies earlier. One even said, try the smelt first ... it's not as crispy... i did and because of that I didn't order it and went with another. Ambiance wise, it's just like any other place ... it has a number of chairs and tables that does get full. Food wise.... you can get your usual grill items like pork, fish, chicken... Noticeably though... the skewers seemed smaller compared to before... . And yes.... if it's an hour or two before closing... they stop cooking / using the grill .... They did put up new combo prices and have now offered 1/2 and 1/2 ... rice / pansit. Granted the pancit was just okay... it's not bad. tbh... the viands are okay... your grandma's cooking is for sure better.... I mainly go here for the grilled items and at times the deep fried ones. Same a our Christmas order. Our new year's order was messed up as well. First, the crispy pork sisig. What we received is not crispy and it is not even pork sisig. It had a weird sauce. Second, the beef mechado, hardly any potatoes, and they were very undercooked, same with the carrots. Lastly, the pancit palabok, it was very dry, no sauce at all. Such a disappointment! I really hope grill city reads this and at least try to attempt to fix this and offer some effort to compensate their customers that they gave wrong and bad orders to. It's our first time here to visit our son who is going to UC Riverside. We came to eat breakfast and we were there before 9am and there's no more breakfast foods like Tapsilog, Longsilog, Tocilog and Bangsilog. They said breakfast was until 10am and they were all gone except for few pieces of eggs, hamonados and hotdogs. They will not do refills for 10 more peoples in the line. We still ordered what was left and the foods were all cold including the rice. We ended up ordering Jollibee foods again. Grill City is nestled inside Seafood City Market in Rancho Cucamonga on Foothill Blvd. they have a variety of Filipino dishes and mostly known for their grilled items, such as Grilled BBQ Pork and Chicken, Liempo (Grilled Pork Belly), and fish. This is a walk-up counter where you point and pick your items for purchase. They do have some tables and chairs if you want to eat inside the market. The placement is a little weird because it's where people enter and exit. Most of the time, you'll see a gentleman grilling the items through the window. It only makes you salivate more anticipating that first bite of juicy grilled BBQ meat. I usually will stop by and purchase an item or two, depending on what looks the freshest. I personally like their Grilled BBQ Pork skewer than their Grilled BBQ Chicken Skewer, as it tends to hold more flavor. I've ordered the Grilled Pork Belly (Liempo) but it's always a hit or miss. The last two times, unfortunately, we're a miss - the pork fat was just too rubbery. I've also ordered a Grilled Calamari - the only thing is it's overstuffed with tomatoes and onions and seems to not be cooked all the way through. I suppose it's better than being overcooked. The solution for that was just to cook it through at home. The aroma of grilled items here is irresistible. The price on the skewers might seem a bit steep at 4 for $20 ($5 each). However, there's plenty on each skewer and the pieces are pretty big. They have other hot items you can order (adobo, menudo, sinigang, etc.) but I tend to skip over those since I can just make the dishes myself. Overall, it's a convenient place to get shopping done at the market and pick up some ready-to-eat items to bring back home for your family. One less thing for you to worry about. read more

Located inside Seafood City right across from Jollibee. All of the food is displayed behind a counter so you just grab a tray and tell them what you want to order. There are tables in front for you to sit and eat. I have tried some of their dishes like pancit, kare kare, and adobo. They were pretty average. I usually go for the grilled bbq pork and chicken skewers. I prefer the chicken over pork. Although the pork has a more flavor, sometimes the fat can be a bit rubbery. Not only is their doordash a mess where you cant order half of the menu cause of how they set it up but when you order something that you can from the menu it seems to be always "Out of Stock". The people working there are completely incompetent! We placed an order on their app at 7pm and got confirmation of that order saying it would arrive by 7:30 - 8pm.!we waited to no other response. By 8pm we tried calling grill city but their number wouldn't connect. We tried several times until we called seafood city and got them to transfer the call to grill city. First the girl that answered the phone said there was no order made from us but we gave her the order number from the confirmation email and then she told us the manager didn't inform them of our order so we had waited an hour and a half for nothing. We were quite upset and asked for the manager and she said she would get them. Then told us the manger was unavailable but told us the manager offered us some kind of credit.!so she lied, the manager was there, just unwilling to get on the phone because they know they fucked up and didn't have the balls to get on the phone and apologize in person and admit what an incompetent shit they were. Then they told us they could fill the Order at this time because they were out of the food we ordered. We told them they probably had the food an hour and a half ago when we originally ordered it. The BBQ pork wasn't fully cooked, and I didn't realize it until my daughter complained of a stomachache. The line was long and the service was slow, so I decided to take it home and recook it. On the way home, my daughter started vomiting, and all I could smell was the BBQ pork. I made sure she was okay, gave her plenty of water, and she said she felt a bit better after vomiting. This Rancho Cucamonga location is very convenient as far as parking and accessibility goes. Right off the entrance to Seafood City, I am greeted by the aroma of bbq chicken and pork skewers (my fave, btw). Their food is delicious enough if you don't get enough Filipino cuisine in whatever area you're from. They have a good selection of dishes which I recommend you try a lil of each. The 2 item combo is a good starting point and won't necessarily dent your wallet or purse. It is a lil pricey but nowadays, isn't everything? If you haven't had Filipino food, try them and you won't be disappointed. It's pretty good. I would like to add that sometimes they have specials that doesn't always get updated online so best to just drop by if you're in the area. My go to is usually the bbq skewers. However, it goes for 4.99/stick so if I were to order multiple amounts, it would be nice that they can discount it depending on the quantity. (Like 3 for $10 or something similar.. "buy 3, get 1 free") As far as service is concerned, the girl who helped me apparently was new. Grill City is a Filipino food to-go inside of Seafood City. There is usually a line here during the weekends and service is questionable. The ladies working this food to-go place tend to take orders from people out of order, which leads to resentment from the people who have been waiting longer. They have value meals where you can get a grill item, a classic entree and a large amount of rice. I find that the ratio of rice is too much and I don't like their rice so I just get the grilled items a la cart. Both the Pork BBQ skewers and Chicken BBQ Skewers are 4 for $14.99. Both are decent, but my family prefers the pork, it is usually more flavorful. When I was ringing up, the cashier started helping the person behind me before I was done paying and I just stood there like an idiot waiting for my receipt. I totally support efficiency, but she was so distracted she kept forgetting what the lady after me was trying to tell her. So I found that counter productive. They didn't deliver the Halo-Halo that I ordered so i called and a girl answered the phone...didn't get her name but she sounds young and worked on a Sunday 10/19/2025 around 3PM . I let her know that I didn't get the Halo-Halo and she just started saying "not our problem you have to call the driver", "not our problem you have to call the driver we can't give you a refund you have to call Doordash"...but I had told her that I ordered the directly on the Grill City website and not Doordash so she placed me on hold and I hung up to call the Doordash driver. I spoke to the Doordash driver and he said, the girl never gave her the beverage...so who is lying? Then I called Grill City again to try to speak to a manager, but they never answered the phone. I called 5 times and they didn't answer the phone...horrible service, incompetent staff. I will not be going to Grill City again. But if you do, just go there and get the food. #39 for 2021 Since I shop at Seafood City, Grill City makes it convenient to get a quick meal for those times when there isn't enough minutes in the day. That may not always work out for this location. And, we'll get to that "why" later. The food is good. It may not be the healthiest of choices. It's the kind of food I grew up with and love. It brings back many memories of my youth and has been my comfort food. My favorite here is the squid with the tomato and onions. With rice it is an excellent dish. I've ordered it many times. It's not my favorite Filipino food. That would be cripy pata. If you've never had that you are missing out big time especially if you are pork lover. However, I often find myself disdainfully ordering pinakbet over rice as my attempt to making a healthier choice. The adobo is not bad, but I'm sorry I'm a bit bias liking how I make that myself. It's good and you should try that too. Any of the other grilled meats too like pork or chicken is great to have with rice. Or simply get a rice bento you can grab out of the booth in front of the cashier. There are several other grab and go selections there too like the banana and sweet potato que. There's not much of selections until the afternoon though. For the dessert try the turon, a banana spring roll. The poplur dessert is halo halo. I love the string macapuno (coconut). That's great to have during those hot summers. They can also cater for your party. A whole lechon pig is about $79.99. I think that's a great deal. I've never tried it. If you do see if they'll provide a bucket of the sauce. There are many other dishes they can provide too. Check out the website for those other dishes and see their extensive menu with better descriptions. Plus, other unique offerings. There are currently 8 locations including this one in Rancho Cucamonga. Carson, Cerritos, Irvine, Eagle Rock, West Covina, Panorama and North Hills. The biggest issue here is the service. Not very attentive at all. This is not indicative to all other Grill City. Only to this location. Although this has been stated several times from the reviews and management has replied there does not seem to be clear indication of changes to improve their customer service. The line can get long especially during rush hours and that's when it's worse. However, sometimes it's entertaining to watch how they go about jumping around from customer to customer watching the expressions of other customers who are getting angry or cracking up. There are times where i couldn't help but laugh myself. It's like a 3 ring circus. But, no matter what time you go try to have a little more patience than you normally do to be better prepared. I come by here almost every week. I may not order anything all the time but will be monitoring for improvements to relay back here. If you've never had Filipino food this is a good place to start getting acquainted. If you need to ask questions ask the people around you in line. You will find many of them enthusiastic to help you. They are a joyful people and love to share their food. I've been eating here for years. The food they serve is what I consider comfort food being Filipino myself. You gotta try the different barbecues. The biggest thing about this place is the service. They are so inefficient. They have so many staff members and yet it takes forever to get your food considering everything is cooked already. The staff seems to be chitchatting or doing something else and don't even acknowledge that people are waiting. It is quicker to get stuff at Porto's which is really packed compared to this place. Now there is a language barrier most of the staff know very little English. But I found if U smile and say what's good they will point U in the right direction. The portions were a bit smaller than we were expecting. The chicken abodo was very good, but the palabok was super dry and lacking flavor. I wasn't sure what eateries were in the food court in the new Seafood City in RC, so I was happy to see something other than Jollibee. I am not a big fan of Jollibee ;P. As the name implies, Grill City offers primarily grilled (inihaw) items. The menu includes chicken, pork, beef and squid skewers, in addition to whole fish (bangus [milkfish], tilapia & pompano). They also advertise no MSG (Hi Cherylynn N. - LOL!). For you non-Filipinos out there, there are labels and pictures to help you navigate the confused menu (Hi Maggie C. - LOL!). You can also order combos on the other side of the line that includes lechon kawali, crispy pata, pancit and a host of other items. For side dishes you can order pancit bihon (cornstarch noodles), or pancit palabok (egg noodles w/ a shrimp sauce). Lastly, Grill City also offers party platters, and you can order a whole pig too. All of the items are reasonably priced ($8 or less). I ordered the chicken insalag ($5.95 - Grilled chicken leg & thigh). Included w/the plates is a generous portion of soup. You have your choice of sinigang (tamarind flavored) w/ pork or shrimp, and mungo bean w/ pork. I opted for the mungo bean because it reminded me of my late father. The chicken was really good. It was nicely seasoned and moist from being marinated. The portion looked small. However, when you combine it with the soup and rice, even Joe's fat a$$ was full - LOL!!! - 4 Stars. The mungo bean soup was also good, w/ the exception of the pork being a boiled piece of bacon vs a piece of pork. Maybe that is the way they do it in the PI (Philippine Islands), but my Dad used to put real pieces of pork in his version: 4 Stars. The girl behind the counter was very nice and helpful. She admiited the menu was hard to navigate, but it didn't take long for me to figure it out: 4 Stars. Seating is typical shared seating in a food court: 3 Stars.
