This review is for expert hair stylist Marina Romero. I have seen her twice a week going on more than 2 years now. We were so fortunate to have found her after we moved from Manhattan Beach to make the OC our home. Marina (from the US, and she has has an Italian heritage) is incredibly professional and extremely warm, a calming presence, fun to talk to, educated, well-traveled, keeps up on trends, she is so kind, and Marina is SO good and excels in all areas with different types of hair. She can get along and be professional with people from all walks of life and individuals with different personalities - so very professional in that regard. (I found Marina when my hair color needed to be corrected in the worst way, I tried 4 people before miraculously finding her!). Marina has now also been an OC girl as she has lived by the coast for many years now. Her skills and her demeanor are wonderful (she is a joy to chat with) and her expertise as a hairstylist is beyond excellent - I am talking about her ability to complete: hair dye/color (they do this at this salon!!!), men's hair cuts, extensions, full MAKE-UP, children's hair cuts, up-do's and blow-outs (hers stay clean and hold - and I have had blowouts on a weekly basis for the past decade, Marina's are the best by far!!). The salon is clean and neat. The stylists and staff have comraderie and are all sweet, courteous, and professional.. My husband is of Irish/English heritage, Marina does his hair cuts and it just looks amazing and the haircut is always completely even as well. Marina is like a superwoman when it comes to hair and makeup. She - without a doubt - has a gift for this field. Also, one of the things that I love most is that Marina books clients in a way to add time, so she is never rushing, she builds in time for anyone running late. Our family and my husband's job is so scheduled, to put it mildly, Marina has not forgotten or been late for an appointment in over 2 years. We do not know what our family would do without Marina! We like to come earlier (like 9am to noon, living by the beach we always tend to go early before crowds or late to avoid crowds that may come in) there is a big parking lot right by the salon. I was a new client, a walk-in looking for some help with my wavy thick hair. Since moving to Laguna I Have struggled with the beach humiditt and the hard water, and also getting a little older and a little more gray, my hair is changing and I need some help! Maggie was my stylist and it was a very pleasant and quality service. Had a very thorough and nice shampoo and scalp massage plus condition, and I don't even remember her combing out my often very tangly hair. She listened to my goals and hopes for my hair going forward. She gave me a nice shaping cut and a lovely blowout and I will be back! My hair looks and feels good. Gina did my blowout today and I had a fabulous experience. We talked kids, schools, dogs, holidays, everything. Most importantly, she did an amazing job. I got exactly what I wanted. This shop is located on upper Forest Avenue in downtown Laguna Beach. With lower Forest blocked off, you may have to search around for parking on busy weekends or peak times but it's totally worth it. Luckily today it was a rainy Monday so I parked a few blocks away in the Glenneyre structure near the library. This location is upstairs and it's bright and airy. They always offer water and make sure you're comfy. Highly recommended. read more

Terrible service done by Kody Thiel! He ruined my hair with the ugliest highlights I've ever received in my life! It wasn't until I got home when I parted my hair to see the uneven , thick streaks he put on my hair. Looked nothing like the inspo picture! I was so upset, I booked an appointment asap at another salon to fix his mess! Now, I have major damage from too much processing from fixing my hair. Do not recommend him! The other girls working at that salon seem nice and their work looked good. Kody, however, not at all! read more

I got a blowout and my stylist (can't remember the name) was efficient and the look was very similar to the photo I provided. My only downside was that I needed to wear the look for 2 days and at other salons, they load me up with the product I need to make it last. This place was great. I made an appointment online for a blow out with Maranda. I got seen right away even thought I was 10ish minutes early, and she did a great job. We talked pretty thoroughly about the blowout and she absolutely nailed it! It took about an hour from start to finish and it lasted all night long. Having come from many years in big salons in Newport and Costa Mesa, I didn't realize what kind of care for quality could exist! She literally has brought my hair back to life while still maintaining the color I love so much.
