This is a hidden gem in my hometown. After driving to Mission Viejo to get my hair cut for a year and not really liking my cut, I started to ask around. My friend B always has great hair (although her hair is naturally great, so I was like, who could really make that hair look bad...). So I asked her where she went and decided to take a chance. Boy was I glad I did! Sarah is a great sylist! I started out going with long hair, which she cleaned up nicely and gave me some great layers. Then after a few cuts, I was ready to do my yearly chop off. I hadn't seen any of her short cuts, but was thrilled at the end result. She gave me a great wedged bob - styled it amazingly and it's growing out really well - The true sign of a skilled cut. I recommend that you go to Sarah - or anyone at DC really. Great salon, location rocks and its the kind of place that as soon as you walk in you can immediately relax! I have seen Danielle and have been very happy with my color and cuts. They have a great referral program and a friendly atmosphere and clientelle. I highly reccommend them! My 2 cents: Whenever looking at reviews always scroll to the bottom and look at the filtered reviews as well. I don't agree with Yelps review filter- ALL reviews should be counted. In many cases if all reviews were considered, some 5 star companies would have a 2 star rating and vice versa. Decide for yourself yelpers, don't let their "algorithm " do it for you! read more

Jacqueline did my blow out and she does excellent work! I don't think I've ever looked better leaving a salon as I did after Jacqueline got her hands on my head. I bought a Living Social deal for four bow drys and a conditioning treatment. I forget how much I paid but I know that it came out to less per blow dry than Dry Bar charges. It's always a little scary letting someone you don't know let loose on your hair but I am so happy I found Jacqueline! She's calm and cool and put me at ease. The salon itself is gorgeous and peaceful. Everybody I came in contact with at the salon, including the person I booked the appointment with, are total sweethearts. Can't wait for my next blow dry and I'm going to try Jacqueline out for cuts next time. The salon is pretty easy to find but parking in Laguna Beach is a bear. My suggestion is to arrive way before your appointment in order to find a spot. Five stars for Studio DC. I think I've found my new "I love my hair salon" place! read more

I've been coming here almost a year and I love it! I drive to Studio DC from Los Angeles because it's the 1st place I've been to in 8 years that I don't leave and immediately grab scissors or a box of color. Lena is a goddess. She gives a fantastic cut and is just a sweetheart to talk to. I've now started recruiting other friends from LA to make the drive because it really is that good. Sarah at Studio DC does a truly amazing job on both my cut and color. I am a natural blonde but wanted a change and went dark chocolate brunette and Sarah did a fantastic job transitioning from blonde to brunette and back again. She is honest and up front about what she is going to do and how long it will take. For example, when I returned to blonde she was very honest with how many sessions it might take and what results to expect in order to keep my hair super healthy. She uses top product and my hair always looks really healthy and shiny when I leave. Her assistant Billy is also fantastic and the salon has great atmosphere. Sara is pretty popular, so expect a bit of a wait to get your appointment but her prices are very decent, especially for the area. I highly recommend! read more

I'm a huge perfectionist and very picky about how my hair is done. After trying upwards of six salons without satisfaction I finally found Danielle at Studio DC! What makes this place stand out from others I have tried is the atmosphere that is created here both by the friendly stylists, relaxing ocean breezes, and high quality products employed. I have been going exclusively to Danielle (who is the owner) but you really can't go wrong with any of the stylists here. I wish I had an experience within the salon to talk about but I was never even given the opportunity. In October I was visiting Laguna for a week and had an important event to attend at the end of the week. I knew the chances of my getting an appointment just days before the event were slim but I figured I'd at least try. I called AND emailed the salon, but in three days I didn't hear a thing. I looked up and found a salon in San Juan who was happy to return my call and give me a great cut and treatment; Brush Salon, so there was a happy ending. PLEASE do not get your make-up done here!!!! I was in a recent bridal party and had to get it done. I've had it done before many times and it's always turned out great, so I wasn't worried a bit. The artist used mac make-up which i love, but I immediately began to worry when she took out a large brush and proceeded to paint layer upon layer of foundation on my face. She applied a TON of powder and I knew it was going to look cakey by the time of the wedding. Then, the blush... She told me she had to put a lot of blush-she called it "whore blush"-so it would show up in the photos. Btw I asked for a "natural look". When I asked for some eyeliner, she didn't have any. Okay? I thought she was a professional makeup artist??? The icing on the cake...you ask?? The false eyelashes. She had no idea what she was doing. I just wanted them a little fuller. Instead I got inch long clumpy Lady Gaga-inspired eyelash mess. Couldn't even see correctly out of my eyes!!! I asked her to fix some things, but already knew I had to redo it myself....(didn't want to upset the bride by making a scene). Btw before she was done she painted even more foundation around my eyes to cover the eyeshadow dust that had fallen from my lids. Nice. Ultimately, I paid my outrageous bill and went back to redo my ENTIRE face. Waste of time, money, and practically had a heart attack thinking I was going to ruin the wedding pictures. DONT GO HERE FOR MAKEUP!!!!! read more
