I found this salon next door to the bikram studio I used to frequent. The salon/spa is very nice. I love the look and vibe. Front desk and other employees are very nice and considerate. Ask for Lauren Nicholson. She is a super, talented stylist/colorist. I've never received so many compliments on my color and cut. I have long hair with layers and she is great about cleaning up the style without cutting length. Lauren is chic and stylish - just like you want to look. So many good reviews, so I thought I'd try since I just moved a couple a blocks away. I called to book a haircut on Tuesday for Saturday at 10. They couldn't do that time so they they gave me 1pm. It wasn't convenient to my schedule but accepted because I want to support local businesses. I show up 5 minutes before my appointment time and they say the stylist is on her way. What? She didn't show up to work yet? But they offered me wine so I let it pass. I wait 15 minutes and no one shows up. The receptionist says she'll be here in 3 minutes. I'm like ok. Well, if this was booked 4 days ago and she can't show up to work on time, how do I know she'll be here in 3 minutes? So I left. Maybe this place is awesome and has an existing clientele and does great business so doesn't need more clients. Or maybe the stylist was hungover and tweaked out Or maybe they're racist and don't even offer the common courtesy of an apology. Regardless. They lost a multiple year customer. Katie is AMAZING. I came to the Hudson Salon for the first time a couple weeks ago, at which time Katie provided me with a really beautiful balayage, which blended into my natural color beautifully and blended with finesse. I wanted a little more pop, because she happened to do such a good job at making the balayage look natural that few people were noticing the difference! I told Katie how I was feeling, and she got me scheduled immediately to come in and get the results that I wanted. I went in today and she spent her evening giving me the exact look I wanted, taking my balayage up a notch, and really playing to my skin tone and eye color. It is perfect, I love it, and she provided the second application free of charge to get me the results I was seeking. THAT is customer service that goes above and beyond, and THAT is how you land yourself a life long customer! The salon itself is gorgeous, with a beautiful view of the ocean to look towards while you wait for your color to set. Katie has an easy going, authentic, and genuine personality that makes her easy to talk to and relate with as she works her magic. She's a great hair artist and obviously a high quality human being, which makes the whole process of getting your hair done by her all the more enjoyable. After calling several {very expensive} places, I found Hudson online, along with its great reviews. Upon calling I spoke with Katrina who was both professional and UBER helpful. She suggested having the therapist come to our hotel room, which was AMAZING, and was so thoughtful to ask about the goal of the service and make suggestions based upon my reply. Our therapist, Haley, was OUTSTANDING. She was friendly, professionally and WONDERFULLY skilled. She concentrated on each area as requested or needed, giving excellent pressure & relief to our tired & sore mama-muscles. What a treat! We received great styles form Leah (I think?) and while I was waiting for my friend, the owner was very friendly & asked about the wedding we were attending & even gave me suggestions for great breakfast spots. The energy was relaxing and the staff was super friendly, offering us a glass of wine the minute we walked in the door. I have really long thick hair that has been overdue for color and cut, I went and saw Jordan and not only did he perfectly match my root color but he made my hair rich and shiny, then we added balliage highlights to it. Hello, I discovered Hudson Salon & Spa through my hairdresser/ stylist Lauren who has been doing my hair for years now, but she just recently moved to Hudson Salon & Spa a few months ago. The Salon is located on the 2nd floor of a cute shopping center that is literally right across from the water. The entrance into the salon is tucked away and it carries a feeling of exclusivity to it. As you walk inside you are met with warm lighting and tasteful display cases with uniquely trendy jewelry (I actually ended up purchasing a pair of gold and white feather earrings, which I have to say looked great on after getting my highlights revamped!) When I walked in, I was met with friendly hellos and was offered a variety of different beverages that they had available for their guests (as well as beverages for people who are over 21 ;) At this moment I was in heaven! While enjoying my refreshment and waiting for my stylist to become available (because I arrived wayyy to early) I was entertained by the flat panel TV mounted in the "lounge area" at this point, I really didn't care how long I had to wait- I was having a good time! When it came to the time where my stylist was available, I felt pretty relaxed and was even more excited that I pretty much had a full view of the beautiful ocean across the street. I was made aware that Hudson is pretty much a full service spa! This place seems like a great place to take the girls to and have a fun relaxing time.
