A beautiful relaxing, setting with comfortable seating, prompt service, and a delicious espresso martini. Caution - the front desk will tell you that you can go to the bar and have two complementary drinks as part of your stay package. They give you a little card and say just show them at the bar. When you show them this card, they will say that you cannot get a drink for free - lol! Not deducting a star because I don't know who to blame, but I have a feeling it's the Hotel reception desk given all of the other errors this trip. read more

The Belvedere Lobby bar is almost like a tiny oasis in the middle of chaos. I was at the Gaylord and there were three conferences going on so a lot of the public spaces were taken over by attendees but the lobby bar was relatively serene. It's a beautiful space overlooking the atrium. Service was attentive and the playlist that was in the background was great. At the incredible Gaylord hotel in National Harbor Virginia there is a bar that offers food and drink with the view over the atrium and entertainment area. We're watching shows being performed on special nights for the holidays. It's clean and comfortable I can spend hours there just to doing out over the light shows the song and dance that they bring through and other types of entertainment. Last night there was a flash mob by the Air Force Band that did holiday songs it was amazing. Out of the crowds all these uniform people started singing and playing instruments it was such a wonderful surprise. The cocktails are classic and made from top shelf and though they are not inexpensive it's well worth the entertainment value to get yourself there early and enjoy the show. The staff was very very nice and helpful. I even left my bag there by accident and Gigi my waitress saved it for me and when I came back with a sigh of relief seeing her standing there holding it with a smile. Thank you very much Gigi you're awesome. I highly recommend this place for it's light food offerings, it's great cocktails and especially its people. read more

Prices here are typical for the area, but not cheap by any means. This is a decent size bar and there isn't a lot of staff on hand, that means you can wait a good deal of time to get your fancy $15 cocktail. I have nothing but positives to say about the Gaylord hotel itself, and this lounge is quite attractive, plus boasts a nice view of the Christmas light,sound,fountain show (which is why this is 2 stars rather than 1)... but gee whiz it otherwise sucked big time and we wish we had never spent a dime here. The two of us plopped down on bar stools on Christmas Eve with the intent of enjoying a drink or two or three...first night of vacation, had already seen the light show once, why not enjoy drinks where we could see it again? Ahhhh, paradise! Then...the strangest most unwelcoming bartender experience...felt more like we were in a used car lot. Armed with a coupon for a $7 martini (from hotel's coupon book given at check in), I wanted to use it. The martini list was teeny tiny, but I thought the pomegranate bellini sounded decent. Bartender immediately tried to discourage me from it. Thus began the big push for some champagne that he thought we should purchase for $16 a glass. Uh, could I please just have the martini? Husband also made the hideous mistake of turning down the fabulous champagne, asking for a (gasp!) Manhattan...oh my, how could he do such a thing at a bar??? How could either of us? Surely we wanted a glass of that champagne, when the whole bottle was $130??? Needless to say we were punished for our sins of wanting a Bellini and a Manhattan, with the WORST drinks ever! Bellini tasted like cough syrup and Husband said it was by far one of the worst Manhattan's he's ever had. Plus we were asked immediately to pay (even before the first sips...maybe that's why). Yep, no "do you want to start a tab?" "Do you want to bill to the room?" Just, that'll be $22. Uh, yes. My "discount" pomegranate Bellini (regular price on menu was $12), was $7 with coupon, than that meant Husband's crappy Manhattan was $15! (and no it wasn't a premium bourbon). Also found it interesting that the tab he gave us was not itemized. So he probably charged whatever he wanted Who knows? It's hard to trust a used car salesman when they're like this. Neither of us has a problem paying for quality and good times. This was neither. After we finished our crappy drinks, we were once again offered...you guessed it...the $16 a glass champagne. When we turned it down again, he did offer a taste of it. Well, why not? This has to be the best thing on the planet, right? Uh, it was okay. Certainly not $16 okay especially when we weren't wanted there to begin with. Onward we went. Glad that this was the only sour note in the whole place for us. read more

I love to have drinks with family and close friends and instead of looking for a bar I went to the lobby at the Belvedere Lobby bar. The bar staff was super friendly and helpful and the bar provides and intimate setting with high/low top, chairs and sofas. I sat at this bar 3 of my 5 nights for a night cap. It's almost as if we were regulars and I was on the sitcom CHEERS because as soon as we arrived we were greeted with "Hey your back, how are you tonight." Carlos was our main server and he was wonderful. Our drinks of choice were beer, tito's vodka and Carlos introduced me to Nolet gin. You can call me a fan, it was smooth. Our first night we had a server at the high top and I can't remember his name but he also was amazing. He stayed around the bar most times. Our 2nd night a female server told us we could only receive service if we sat on the couches or short tables. No worries, we were still taken care of by Carlos. He helped us celebrate my parents 47th anniversary with a French 75 toast. If at the Gaylord I would recommend getting a drink and enjoying the vibe at the Belvedere lobby. read more

A friend and I got a mojito (me), an old fashioned (her), and the pulled chicken flatbread. On the up side, the drinks were strong, so we kept it at one each. The flatbread was fine, but nothing special. Service was adequate but nothing more. Realistically, they have a massive captive audience in the form of hotel guests who don't want to go further afield, and they're hitting that target perfectly -- fine, but not stellar. So if you end up here, keep in mind what you're paying for (location) and set your expectations accordingly. read more

After sitting for about 5 minutes, and not a very busy night, I had to finally ask someone who was working the section. Meaning the couch right in the middle of the whole place. I ordered the old fashion and when it came I was shocked. In a low ball glass with a large round ice cube barely half a glass. For $15, this wasn't going to pass. I couldnt get the server to come back and had to chase someone down again. I told the next person to take it back and give me my bill. The manager then came back with the drink with a little more in ithe glass and blamed it on the F&B manager. If you are staying at the hotel then look inside the booklet of coupons they give you when you check in for a coupon for a discounted martini. The bar offers nice views of the atrium and is a great place to people watch. There's a mix of high top tables, couches and armchairs, and regular tables. The drinks are pricy but they are strong. I tried the shrimp tempura roll and it was not that good so I wouldn't recommend the food. read more

If you like bars in hotel lobbies then you will find the Gaylord National Resorts Belvedere Lobby Bar glorious. Bars connected to lobbies are notorious for preying on tourists and business travelers with a sterile ambiance, high prices, and weak drinks. The Belvedere has perfected all three. Seating is a blend of tables, couches, and a counter. It is a convenient place to meet someone, but my recommendation is to do just that. Meet the person, finish your drink, and then head some place else. Of course, there are limited choices in the area, but almost all of them will be better than the prices and service of the Belvedere Lobby Bar. read more

This is pretty much you're typical high end business hotel lounge and bar. It's totally empty throughout most of the day and begins to fill up with convention goers and business travelers after 5 pm. It's a lovely spot enclosed by the magnificent cavernous glass surrounding this entire area of the Gaylord. It's so large there are even smaller buildings (shops) down below. The Belvedere has a terrific open view looking toward the Potomac River and all the glass gives you the impression of being outside. The drinks are pricey and not too bad. Lots of business travelers and a few couples. I wouldn't recommend going here just to have a drink unless you haven't seen the Gaylord at National Harbor which is somewhat of a spectacle unto itself. read more

Cool view, overpriced, locals flood in on weekends praying on travelers. This is the hotel bar at the Gaylord which is pretty legit and cool. It always has people in it hanging out and enjoying the atrium views. A lot of business people, the prices are jacked sky high and the food is not bad, bartenders were friendly. While staying at the Gaylord convention center I stopped by the belvedere bar to grab a drink. I ordered a dirty vodka martini and the first one came out fine. After I finished it took about 15 minutes for anyone to notice I was finished and to offer me another drink. A different waiter asked my order, and what I got was a disaster. I received a regular, not dirty, martini. Upon first glance I tell the waitress I asked a dirty martini and this was obviously not what I ordered. Instead of making my order correct she brings over some olive juice in a glass and pours it in. After having my first sip I realize that it is in fact a Gin martini and not a vodka one as I had ordered specifically. The proximity and view is great for the hotel but the staff were not attentive and left me not wanting to come back. Update: the incorrect martini was more expensive than the correct one and I was still charged for it even after complaining to the waitress. read more

The bartender made my nephews Shirley temples and the drinks spilled over. He didn't even clean or dry the glasses before handing them to me. I had to dry the glasses off myself. Decent Hotel Bar - very attentive cocktail waitress despite the place being crazy busy with a 3000 guest convention going on. They have really pretty good sushi - the ahi nachos were really good. 5-6 tortilla Chips each with a slice of ahi, I think radish and wasabi mayo. read more
