The absolute worst customer service. Very slow and I had planned for a new Cartier strap for my husband for Christmas and when the strap arrived they realized that they had ordered the wrong strap and unapologetically told me that they doubt the replacement would get here on time for Christmas. Very very rude and when I asked the person helping me if they were going to apologize for this mistake he replied by saying: "I guess ..." Very very very very unprofessional and would never recommend. This was my third time into Ben Bridge Jeweler this evening and being assisted by Kelly. The first time visiting the Ben Bridge Jewler was to pick up a watch for myself. We had purchased a Ballon Bleu Cartier watch and guided to schedule our appointment with Kelly to have it sized and to pick it up. All I can say is - WOW! Kelly welcomed us with not only a smile, but quickly showed us to a table to sit, relax and offered us coffee and chocolate while she went to secure the watch. She brought the Cartier box out on a tray and wore white gloves. She took her time taking us through the features of the watch with true care and passion. My second time visiting Kelly was to have her assist me in selecting a Christmas present for my husband. Again, Kelly welcomed me already like an old friend. We had exchanged several emails ahead of time, so by the time I arrived, I had selected the large Santos De Cartier. The watch had never been open and again, before going into the back to secure the watch from the vault, she sat me down, offered me a coffee and chocolate. Truly relaxed and ready for the experience. Kelly brought out his watch and again, took her time walking me through the features and history of this particular piece of art. My husband was truly surprised to receive his Christmas present. Tonight my husband and I returned to have Kelly walk my husband through his new Santos watch features. With no surprise, we received the "Kelly welcome and exceptional service again." How would I summarize the service of Ben Bridge and specifically Kelly ~ "A STANDING OVATION." There had been some staff changing and our original contact person had moved on. When I went in to check in on how things were going I met Judie. She was fun, personable and down to earth and made me feel really comfortable. We discussed options and agreed to stay in touch. I didn't have a good experience with one of the associates because he never followed up with me and when I called he said things were out of stock. I asked my boyfriend to call the store just to see if we have any luck with them. Kelly picked up the phone, and has been keeping in touch with us. One day she said she was able to get a hold of the watch. We went to the store to pick it up. She was exceptional! Like what others mentioned, she is passionate about her work. Really bad customer service in general. I was visiting in Portland and needed to have a watch bracelet sized, to have a watch cleaned, and to have the battery replaced on a watch. While, granted, none of these are high dollar items, it should be noted that, over the years, I have purchased several Rolex, Tudor, and Oris watches, and several other items from other Ben Bridge locations - it's not like I've not patronized their chain before. The woman who "helped" us seemed almost irritated that we were there and, from the first words out of her mouth, made it clear that our business wasn't welcome or wanted. From telling me all of the reasons that they probably couldn't do what was needed to telling us that it would take a long time to seeming to be put out by asking to have the watch cleaned. The entire experience was completely unpleasant and unfriendly. This is surprising as, at every Ben Bridge I have ever been to - from Los Angeles to San Diego to Las Vegas to Dallas to Austin, I've had great customer service and very friendly sales associates. Maybe I caught this sales associate on a bad day, but, regardless, there didn't seem to be any attempt whatsoever to provide any meaningful customer service or to attempt to earn business. Excellent service today purchasing a new Cartier from Anne-Marie. Was paying cash so was reassured by the presence of a burly, armed security guy as I counted out my $100 bills. The watch is beautiful...I have been wanting one for a while but come from a Patek Phillipe/Breguet/ Baume & Mercier background and hadn't worn Cartier much. This store is very professional with a nice, upscale but not pretentious feel...snazzier than Tiffany and less in-your-face than Harry Winston. The salesperson knows her stuff and we had a nice experience, informative and unstuffy...thank God...I hate holier-than-thou salespeople. I always call ahead, get a name and then find that person to do the purchase with in order to avoid any snoot. Left with a great watch, a thorough explanation and a free box of chocolates. Anne-Marie even set my watch for me and listened when I asked her to set it five minutes fast (all my watches are set this way, it's a trick I learned from my industrialist grandfather so I would never be late) which was a surprise. On the days we picked up our watches she took lots of time going through sizing options and the features of our watches. I've been to Ben Bridges in downtown Portland a handful of times over the last year and each time I come, I'm always greeted with a warm welcome. I had initially worked with David, the general manager at the time and he was a pleasure to talk to allowing my 2 kids to be kids. Never any pressure to buy and genuinely interested in what I was looking for. Since then, David has moved to bigger and better things (still within Ben Bridges) which brought me to Blaine. I came into the store without an appointment on a busy Sunday. Instead of shoeing me away, Blaine told us that his appointment might not show and for us to wait a few minutes to see if he could accommodate us. Luckily for me they didn't show and Blaine was able to take us in. Blaine was great as he didn't make me feel like he was there to sell me jewelry but was my advisor to help me pick the right pieces. Even when his next appointment was waiting outside the store, he didn't rush out the door and made sure we got to see everything we wanted to and answer all of our questions. Blaine was able to get me the watch I had requested and spent almost 2 hours with me walking me through the entire process. I never felt rushed and the great attention to detail made it a great experience. I even found out that you're not limited to the designers they have in store as they can acquire many pieces that are showcased in their other Ben Bridges stores so defiantly come here if you want a great shopping experience. read more

I had an appointment with Clare to purchase a watch I had been eyeing and she was wonderful. Really friendly and personable. My friend and I were also able to get our rings cleaned during the visit. There was hand sanitizer available throughout the store. The employees wore masks and gloves. They do offer validated parking but be aware of where you park. Salome, the Sales Associate, said that it unfortunately wasn't in stock (the Datejust I wanted to purchase for my father was luckiliy in stock). However, she pulled some magic tricks to learn that Batman was on his way to Ben Bridge Portland on the following day! She and I worked out a good time for me to pick up the watch and get it fitted. I've since then come to learn that it's actually not that easy to get your hands on a Batman, and Salome really hustled to make sure I could get one! Another thing I'd like to say is that while my partner was checking out Cartier timepieces with Salome, one of her associates spent a good 30 minutes teaching me how to use my watch while giving me a general Rolex history lesson!
