They also were selling a new Rolex to a customer and they had a large selection of vintage mechanical and battery powered watches for men and women, plus a small selection of pocket watches. If you are buying a vintage watch person-to-person, I would bring it here with the seller and pay for it to be inspected, there are fakes in the wild, sadly. The business is in a vintage house, and there is a seating area in the entry way to sit and chill, or you can go across the street to the ice cream store they mentioned to families there with their children. I have never seen anything like it and genuinely, if your are like me and like to keep a pear, a few apples and an orange on hand but want them to last - this is not only amazing looking but perfect!! I did purchase a few smaller items. The first was a felt coaster which is so perfect! They have an array of different colors - my choice was a gorgeous burgundy and I loved being able to buy just one. I have coasters for guests which is a whole set but for my daily iced drink covered in condensation, this is so perfect. The card says they are made in Germany by a company called Parkhaus and how to care for and clean the coaster. The other item was a greeting card which I intend to frame. Vancouver Washington artist Claudia Moore makes the cards with foraged leaves and seeds. This is a great spot if you are looking for something unique as a gift or for your home. They also have some very nice cleaning solutions and bath products. There is a well thought, small selection of purses and bags.

I would like to share my experience with this clock repair shop…read more The owner, Jan, agreed to repair my cuckoo wall clock. The problem was that the clock was losing about four hours. Two days later, I received a message saying the problem had been fixed and that I could pick up the clock. I was asked to pay in cash, which, unfortunately, turned out to be a mistake. Just three days after the repair, it became clear that nothing had changed. The clock was still losing time exactly as it had before. I called the shop several times and left messages explaining that the problem had not been resolved. The owner only answered after I called from a different phone number. After listening to me again, Jan said there was nothing more he could do. When I asked him to refund at least part of the money for a repair that had not solved the problem, he refused. Unfortunately, I was left with the impression that I paid for a repair that did not actually fix the issue. I want to warn potential customers: if you decide to use this shop, make sure to ask in advance what warranty is provided and what happens if the repair does not solve the problem. My personal experience was extremely disappointing.

He was very knowledgeable and explained gently that my expensive watches were never made to last 50+ years. He was able to get them going, and told me how to use incandescent light to maybe get the third one to last a bit longer, but couldn't guarantee its poor brain would work very long. I did so appreciate his efforts and his detailed information about each watch. I'm very happy to refer people to such a kind and experienced man!
