I'm not really sure what recipe they use for their taro milk tea, but when I stopped by once, it was little chunks of taro root in 2% milk. There wasn't any type of sugar or tea added to it. It was a bit strange. It was quite bland and didn't taste like anything. I wanted a little snack as well and was thinking about grabbing a snack after I got my tea. After tasting the tea though, I kinda lost my craving for a snack. I was quite disappointed by the taro milk tea. The one shop worker that was there was nice and polite. She was also patient and tried to get orders out as quickly as possible. Her attitude and work ethic were great. I'm giving three stars for her professionalism and patience because there were a lot of people coming in to order and/or pick up mobile orders. She remained composed and professional. I am a big fan of bubble tea, and this is one of the best, if not the best, in northern VA. Their drinks are always so fresh and tasty. My favorite is the Red Guava tea, it tastes really good and has fresh guava bits. My other favorite is Super Mango Pomelo drink. It has real mangoes and sago and so good! Great product from an amazing team member! After lunch, I had boba on the mind. This place was the closest, but it was a fantastic choice. The place is clean has plenty of room for indoor seating. The tea-maker asked if we wanted anything in particular, and warned me about my first inkling... I asked about the taro milk tea... it was from the root and not the powder. Got a regular boba milk tea and my bf got a peach slush and we both loved our drinks and thought they were as good as the ones back home in SoCal where all the good boba is at! I've tried several drinks and I have enjoyed each one. They make the milk teas and teas with boba like king fu tea for example but I don't come to Mr. Wish for those. I like that they used real fruit for their fruit teas and there are many combinations. Also the boba is nice and soft, when you go to other places like Kung fu tea (not trying to tag them) but by the afternoon their boba has turned hard. I suspect they make a batch early and it's soft but that same batch by 4pm is hard and stale. I haven't had that problem at Mr. wish I highly recommend this Mr. Wish and will be back to try all their combinations. read more

New tea place in the area!! They recently opened this month! I tried their Special Wish Fruit Tea, it is black tea based and has orange juice in it with some fruit pieces as well. All their juices are freshly squeezed and they use liquid can sugar as a sweetener!! I loved the flavor, got less ice and 60% sugar sweetness which was perfect for me. Definitely coming back because they use freshly squeezed juices and fresh fruits in their teas. The servers pleasantly welcome you and they are really helpful in explaining their teas! So glad we have a mr wish near us now. My favorite drink there is the colorful fruit teas. You can request the level of sweet and I like the crunchiness of the passion fruit seeds. Service is great! The person behind the register was very patient with us as we looked at the menu. My family has a kumquat tree in our backyard and I really wanted to try this drink. I wanted to get 30% sweetness for my drink and he recommended I get 60% instead! The 60% was perfect! I wouldn't mind 30% though for next time. Mr. Wish is amazing and has FRESH FRUIT that they display in front of you, and they use that fruit to make your drink on the spot when you order. The teas with fruits are so delicious. I was so excited to see Mr. Wish here! I've been to the one in Eden Center and always had good experience. When we first walked in, the staff greeted us. Although smaller, the inside decor was similar to the one in Eden. I went with my two go-to orders here - the Black Tiger Milk tea (fan favorite) and the Kumquat Lemon Fiber Jelly Tea. I also got an order of the Dog Paw Waffle Cakes with custard (comes with 4 waffle cakes). I loved all of it!! The dog paw waffle cakes were soft on the outside and really warm and gooey on the inside. I'd definitely get this again! The teas were consistent with what I've had at the other location. This place was not great. Maybe it was just one bad experience which is why I'll give two stars for now but it definitely didn't win me over the first time there. The food was not great. I've had quite a few boba places and this was my least favorite thus far. My girlfriend wanted a mango smoothie with boba pearls and got basically a cup mango juice with some fruit bits and boba in it. It was warm and had no traces of ice in it at all. I had to blend it up with some ice when we got home. The dog paw waffles weren't great either. They left a terrible after taste in our mouths. We didn't get the custard one so maybe that would have redeemed it but we didn't even finish one whole waffle. The service was alright. The lady behind the counter didn't seem to care much which is probably why the drink didn't even end up as a smoothie. It was the middle of a normal workday and we were the only ones there so it wasn't busy by any means. The ambiance is probably the main reason to go there. They have a couple of picture spots that would look good for Instagram. Otherwise it's a pretty standard boba place inside. My favorite boba in the DMV area. My gripe with smaller franchises and local places (I worked at one) is that they usually rely heavily on cheap syrups for their drinks. Mr.Wish, clearly does not though. My first trip (not pictured) I got the colorful fruit tea and it had actual diced fruit in it and all the sweetness came from the fruit. My second I got the lychee drink with pulp. To the other review on here that is upset about the "syrup" from the canned lychee, that is the pulp, not syrup and it was delicious. As for the wait, they have a sign stating that they are short staffed. Have some compassion, and if you can't wait, go somewhere else. In my opinion, the wait is worth it. Also, they're right next to HMart so my boba is ready for me pre or post grocery trip which is awesome. Will definitely be back to try more boba. read more

I love Mr Wish in general. I will say that the best location is in Eden center . I am also a little biased because I love Eden Center . The man at the counter was very friendly but he didn't seem to know much about the drinks. When I asked him what was in a certain drink he didn't know and had to run to the back to ask the owner/manager. I am still giving 4 stars because maybe he was new and he was definitely trying. I ordered a sparkling drink which is the same drink that I get at their Eden center location and it was not the same . It didn't taste anything like the one I get and I didn't finish it :/ my daughters order the tiger milk tea and one other new drink. They seemed to enjoy theirs. Besides the fact that this place is located in an odd part of Herndon, I admit their bubble tea is pretty good. My friend from Philly loves their bubble teas and told me about the grand opening of this location. I miss the buy one, get one free promotion, but made the buy one, get one 50% off. The interior is like any bubble tea place. They have one nice backdrop for social media postings, several seating arrangements, and the counter where you can see your bubble tea being made. We tried the red bean milk tea and I'm in love. It comes with sweet red beans and egg pudding which are my favorites. And the milk tea itself is made just right. We also tried the colorful fruit tea and it was fruity. You can see tiny chunks of all the fruits they used. Some of the stronger fruits are the kumquat, kiwi, and apple, in my opinion. To compliment our teas, we tried the egg custard dog print cakes. I really liked them, and our toddler did too. She said the doggy prints reminds her of "Blue's Clues". Came here for their grand opening and had a terrific experience. I actually prefer this location over the Eden Center one, since it's less hectic and there's plenty of parking! Got the oolong milk tea and the passion fruit fiber. Both drinks were really good! The fiber is definitely unique to Mr. Wish and had aloe, jelly and chia seeds. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful in suggesting drinks. For some of the drinks, like the fiber jellies or the Mr. Wish Special, you can't add or swap out toppings, which is kind of disappointing. I love the Mr. Wish Special, super fruity, light (but very sweet) but sometimes I just want boba!! The real star of this visit was the custard waffles. Came out to Reston on business and was craving some milk tea. I changed my mind last minute and got a fruit tea. I am so happy that I ordered the passion fruit green tea. So refreshing and right amount of sweetness. The aiyu jelly with it was the perfect combination. The lady that took my order was nice and extremely efficient and got my drink out very quickly. This is the cutest bubble tea place in the Herndon area. It's fairly new, it has a beautiful interior. They have a cute backdrop to take social media pictures. I tried the Custard egg dog print cake which took awhile to make because it's made from scratch. It was so delicious! I tried the Colorful fruit tea on the drink menu. They used sugarcane juice with make the drink super refreshing. I didn't notice until I stepped out of the place and noticed that, they had a sign above the store that says buy one get, one free. Tried a few different locations of Mr.Wish and I think the one on Wilson Blvd in Eden Center is the best. I came in around 6:30pm on a Saturday and I ordered a Avocado Smoothie and Strawberry Tea with Lychee and Coconut Jelly. Ordering this was a quick and seamless transaction, but I think I will have to do online ordering at this location going forward or just wait until I'm near Eden Center. The Avocado Smoothie was sweet and cool for the warm weather and the Strawberry Tea was refreshing. I gave this review 3 stars because the wait took longer than expected. I understand that orders can take some time to make, however there was no communication and the staff seemed lax about making the drinks. Bubble Tea here takes 3x longer to pick up than other places. So I always try to order ahead and even pay the additional fees GrubHub charges, but they still make you wait at the store. It's incrediblely frustrating to pay extra, wait 10 mins longer before driving over, only to show up at the store and have to wait another 10 mins in person. If that's how it's going to be I wouldn't have paid the extra fees... Ends up being $8 per drink if you add toppings. They are nice people but they don't understand that a drink store should not take 30+ mins to make your order. In the end, it's not worth it - just go to Gong Cha. read more
