Got there on a Wednesday afternoon around 3 PM there was only one party in front of me. The menu is incredibly limited - I ended up choosing the duck bao as well as the pork belly bao. The duck was a little bit soggy for me didn't really have any flavor to it and the pork belly had a little bit more flavor but I wish there would've been more pork belly actually in the bao. Overall, wanted to try it because I love bao's, but probably won't be back as the flavors just didn't hit the mark and the bao buns were soggy. read more

We took a break from Universal Studios and visited Bend the Bao on Saturday, New Year's Eve, at 4:30 pm and there was no line. This merchant is an order at the window restaurant with outdoor seating. We ordered two Pork Belly Bao's for $11.99. The baos were rather small, at about 3 inches wide each. We were told before ordering them that they were on the small side, but we only ordered one each because we were not that hungry. The flavor and the tenderness of the meat was good, the softness of the bun was nice, and the peanuts added a nice crunch. While the bao was good, it was nothing amazing, especially for the price. While I do keep in mind that this is pricing for a tourist and theme park area, if the bao was at least a little larger, it would have been more satisfactory for the price. read more

Thought we try out the place for a little snack before Adventure Island. For one, the price is well doubled compared to other restaurants (figures, considering where it's located). I wouldn't mind the price IF the bao were worth it and unfortunately, they weren't. The baos were cold. Size and meat portions were tiny. This is a cute little spot upstairs at Citywalk it's really small counter service where you just order at the cashier and then they call your name once your food is ready. I love that there's a window where you can see the staff making the food I love that !! So I ordered the taro boba and it was delicious it was really rich and sweet I didn't care for the jelly boba but the actual drink itself was super yummy! As far as the bao buns wow super delicious the duck was amazing l will come back and order that again I loved it. I also got the kimchi chicken it was delicious as well my only complaint is I wish that it came with more veggies or something because it was just like one chicken strip and a tiny cucumber strip lol. Everything was $17 with my annual pass discount. Kinda pricey for the two little buns and a drink but I was happy because the food was really delicious. It wasn't just basic it really good !!! This is my fav dough, I could eat it plain. The food was fine, simple and straightforward "sandwiches". I like the different flavors, something for everyone. My pescatarian daughter enjoyed her veggie and crab baos. The ordering was a little confusing, I thought the baos come in a combo of 2 (as advertised), but no, you do have to specify (which I didn't). The portions are SMALL, so get about 4 to be full. This place was a pleasant surprise! We love baos and finding some at CityWalk made us really happy! As vegans, we had the mushroom ones without the ricotta and it was so delicious. This small spot offered mobile ordering. We placed an order around 6pm for 7:15-7:30 pick up. Ordered 3 baos- kimchi chicken, brisket, and shrimp. In the universal app, I selected "I'm here, prepare my food" at 7:22pm. I did not see my food and it was 7:30. I asked if it was ready, the cashier said they are still working on it. I'm debating how to review Bend the Bao. Do I compare it to other Universal Citywalk eateries? Do I simply focus on the food? That's the difference between 3 and 4 stars. 5 would require future visits. The food was delicious. Properly soft bao buns. Pork Belly bao had a perfect mix of sweet and savory. Large portions of belly well prepared. I really liked the fried chicken kimchee bao. A unique choice. The brisket bao was a little disappointing but my family members loved it. For a CityWalk location the price was as expected. Service was relatively quick. I liked the ability tto watch my food being prepared. This is a good place to go for a late night snack or a short respite and snack after your second tour of Islands of Adventure. Service is fast. This spot is often overlooked tucked upstairs in a back corner of City Walk. The other options in the area? A Burger King "Whopper Bar", Panda Express, and Moe's. We stopped by for a quick snack prior to checking out the Dead Coconut Club (open during select Halloween Horror nights). We each had one of the Pork Belly Bao Buns. They did have a lot of other options, including Duck which isn't something you see in Orlando all that often. Service was quick and our food came out quickly. There is plenty of outdoor seating located around this spot, they do not have indoor seating. This location kinda hidden above AMC is well worth the tiny journey upstairs. The staff is friendly and a little sassy which is exactly what I look for in any wait staff. Thank you Mack for taking care of us. The food was very tasty. I was expecting more of a dumpling type consistency but was pleased with the more cloud like texture. Interesting mix of flavors. I think they're having hard growing pains. My buns were all cold and gummy. The veggie is extremely tasty, the mushrooms are super "meaty" and they've got a great flavor. The crab cake to me was overly fishy and the mustard overwhelmed it. The pork belly was really good, tender and has a great flavor. The brisket was a bit hard to begin with and didn't survive a reheat in the microwave. The duck was decent, a bit gamey. The fried chicken was really good, tender and tasty. The shrimp was great, tasty and cooked perfectly. The TMs were nice that I dealt with. I don't think the chefs are familiar with the menu, you can watch them fix your food and they seemed to need to check the build on each one, which may have caused the temperature issue on ours, we ordered one of each. Also worth noting they'll charge you full 11.99 for each 2 buns. It's not 4.49 for each additional, just one. read more
