At best, the haircut was mediocre. I asked for certain things and because they wanted to leave I had to remind them to do it.. they want to charge $45 for a cut and a lineup of the beard and I'm talking about the top. I'm not talking about the bottom. For that much money, I expect precision. But I'm walking around with one side blended better than the other and then a fade that looks like a fohawk. I won't mention what they did to my lineup, something told me not to get a haircut with the lady who had pink nails or the only lady who worked at the shop but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I felt pushed to leave already because I walked in at 6:30. My haircut shouldn't have taken more than 30 minutes. The lady who cut my hair stayed on one spot of my head for at least 30 minutes and I would've told her I would've been an asshole. Her hand was too, and when I watched her try to line up my beard. She didn't even go over her work that she did with the clippers two or 3 mm and use that as an excuse to say that she lined me up. The manager or the owner didn't even step in to say anything. He took care of his patient. I'm sitting in the chair with her. He had no type of care in the world. He was really just trying to leave for $45. Save your money and go to Koreatown. You can get a great cut for 25. With no hassle or extra charges. I'm so upset. I spent $45 right now on such a mediocre. My hairline is the back of my head is uneven. read more

This barber shop is solid, for a couple of reasons. The first reason was atmosphere, you can tell right away that the employees treat the place with respect. The second reason was the barber, Edgar, he made the experience easy going by talking with me. Not only that but Edgar also did better than what I expected. He did this by using a fade technique that I rarely seen from other barbers. I am so, so disappointed. I went in because I loved the photos and reviews. I have a son who's under 2 years old and was due for a cut. We were the only ones in the shop that day. I asked the barber to cut the sides and back shorter, but to please leave the length and curls on top. He said "oh, a boys cut like a number (blahblah) on the sides and a number (blahblah) on the top looks good." I don't know what that means because I'm a mother with long hair, so I stressed that I love the curls and wanted to keep them please. Please keep the length on the top. I even showed him a photo of what I mean. He proceeded to cut my son's hair completely short, with no room to fix it or keep any length. I could not believe it. I was speechless. Now I'm waiting for it to grow out. It has been one month and we're still not at the length I wanted. This place gets two stars instead of one because the barber was nice and good with my son. Please don't go here if you don't want a basic "boy's cut". It's not worth the money I saved. I'm so sorry I switched hairdressers trying to save money. :( read more

What the hell does THAT mean? Dude, everybody who has a full life is tired. I'm tired too, but I still follow through on my obligations. You're not selling trinkets at venice beach, where nobody cares if you show up or not. You're running a business, which means reliability and consistency are key. If barbering is too taxing for you, get another job. If you want to stay with barbering, MAN UP and adhere to your posted days and hours! It was great the first time I got my haircut from Carlos. It was $15 cuts, he took his time to make it look nice, even made the hair part shaved with a blade and warm cream. His quality has dramatically gone down, and prices raised to $20 in the past year, choosing quantity over quality. His place is always packed full with 2-3 people queued, even with your reservations. He tries to cut as quickly as possible, sometimes missing a trim or making the hair uneven, he doesn't use the blade anymore and I basically have to ask if I want to get the hair part. It was hard finding a local barber shop that I would take a chance on. Most others charge up to $30 for a fade and that to me is robbery. So came here and saw great reviews and decided to give it a shot. It's best to make appointments rather than just walk in. If you do, you will get helped pretty quickly. There's only one guy, Carlos, that cuts here. He has plenty of seating for waiting customers if you want to take a chance and drop in. His hair cuts go for $15 dollar which I think is fair. I've been going there for about 4 years now, I take my son, who is now 10 years old and got to say that Edgar is the best! He really takes the time, pays attention to detail and most importantly listens to the customer at a very reasonable rate. You can tell he has a passion for his job as he goes above and beyond. Just went there with my 3 year old son. We both had a hair cut. I have never felt so rushed out of the door before. Within 15 mins mins he finished both of us. He did not look twice at any spot. He just kept going. And he did not do any finishing. It was a mistake. Another thing was that i called him for an appointment the day before and he gave me one. We got there right on time. Going to a Barber is always a terrifying experience. This experience is even more intimidating when you are going for a beard trim. After all, if a barber messes up your haircut, it will grow back. If a barber messed up your beard, you are left with a patch in your face that is not easily correctable. At first, I was a little hesitant since the place is very simple. It seemed more like a haircut place for kids. I told Luis that I wanted a beard trim, and that I wanted my beard to look natural but presentable. He was amazing. He took care of every little detail. The trim, the lines and the shave were beyond perfect. For a beard trim and line up, I would definitely return. Bonus points for being open on Sunday! read more

If you want anything other than a buzz cut or fade don't go here. There was only one barber working. He was a very nice guy and his other customers seemed satisfied but I found it strange that the guys who had little to no hair had longer times in the chair than I did. After waiting on what I can only refer to as hyper-autistic-microbuzzcuts for about 2 hours, it was my turn. I showed him a picture of the medium length haircut I wanted. He grabbed a pair of sheers which were clearly meant for wild Peruvian Alapcas and began his best coked-up impression of Johnny Depp in Edward Scissor hands. I mostly blame yelp's 5 star review of this place for leading me here. I was under the impression that by that rating, these guys could do anything but this unfortunately is not the case.
