When you walk in you can tell right away you're walking into an authentic Italian Ristorante! The service was great you feel like you're being served by family. We really enjoyed our pizza, fettuccine Alfredo and minestrone. Highly recommends

We stopped here on a Saturday on our way back from South Lake Tahoe. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so when we arrived for dinner with our party of eight, there was about a 25-minute wait. Once we got seated, it was pretty hot inside the restaurant. Midway through our meal, they opened the door to let some air in, even though it was December, which was a little surprising. The pizza was good! We tried the Carnívoro and the Chicken Alfredo, and both were tasty. Our server was super nice; I wish I had gotten her name to give her a proper shoutout! Overall, it's a cute spot with good food.

The homies that reside down river below the dam in the town of Represa Ca speaks of rumors of lynching happening to my kind up the hill. They said never veer off Hyw 50 when heading to Tahoe. -My ancestors was here. - 1848, when somebody out here whispered "gold" and triggered one of the larger mass migrations in history, the Chinese were among the first to arrive. - after a epic day floating down river nearby, we're hungry. My appetite suppressed all thought of making a "Wrong Turn " and venture into the heart of old Hangtown. Italian sound's good and the only street parking available was right in front of restaurant. LOL. My thoughts; -Staff: super nice and unthreatening. Was very attentive (water was always full. She was like a live Pasta Progress Tracker App. -kept us updated on the prep, cooking meal progress. -Spaghetti & Meatballs: family said it was good. Homemade sauce. The waitress gave us extra sauce on the side to kick things up a notch. -Seafood Linguine: shrimp and clams was good. Mussels were questionable. Sauce was lacking. OVERALL: food was ok, but service was Good and earned an extra star. "We didn't get lynched, will visit Hangtown again to push our luck".

We came here on a Saturday around 3:00 and were surprised to find them open. The locals we ran into thought they were closed until dinner time. They were only serving off the happy hour menu only, which was perfect for us since we did not want a huge meal. We had a slice or peperoni pizza, the meatballs, the garlic bread and a filet mignon slider. They were all excellent, the slider maybe a little overpriced for just one. We sat at the bar and beers were $1 off, the bartender was nice, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

I had an amazing experience at this quaint and hospitable restaurant. Our service was incredible, we wanted for nothing. The staff here is awesome, especially our server and "Ben" the owner who took the time to chat about the journey to his PERFECT lasagna. The food taste, quality and portions are spot on. I took my Son for his birthday and we have another great memory to reflect on. This restaurant is clean, charming and welcoming, I recommend you stop by and check it out. Thank you!

Look at this portion size! Wow!

Seated right away outside. Beautiful street-side Main Street and directly in front if the historic Bell Tower! Our server was Vanessa, professional, friendly and extremely attentive. Her recommendations off the menu were spot on! We enjoyed the lasagna and some cocktails. Highly recommend!

We came here to celebrate a birthday. Food was delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. Dessert was great! Only complaint is the stuffed mushroom appetizer. For the price I'd expected at least double the amount of mushrooms, especially considering how small they were. Otherwise Bene was amazing.

We've been here a few times and customer service was great both times. Very family friendly environment and you can tell the food comes out with love. The food was great! Definitely recommend!

The wine was amazing from local wineries, the waitress was sweet and friendly and had grear service. So if you like those Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes, then you would like sitting next to the mine for sure. It's roped off but you can hear the water dripping and it is naturally cool. The structure was originally built as a hotel in 1853 and has been well preserved. I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).

We were not in a hurry and were told around 6 minutes for our order (which seemed way too quick). It took about 20 minutes which, again, was absolutely fine because we were in no rush. But a better expectation should be set. Also, they were out of the ingredients for at least 3 of the pies and the dough on the Ireland was a bit undercooked on the edge. The interior is very small with one table (3 seats) and a counter (2 seats). The business is attached to and run by the same people who own the Enchanted Forest. The decorations are fake ivy leaves and fake bark with moss on the walls and ceilings. Unfortunately, these things are difficult to keep clean and, therefore, carry a hefty amount of dust in the Enchanted Forest side where the restroom is located. Also, the fan in the Pastry shop looks like it has not been cleaned in 10 years. The employee handled dirty plates with the same gloved hand that he then used to continue making our food. Not sure I would return.

The light up fairy crown that everyone receives is a very nice touch to the experience! I ordered the salmon ($46), which came on a bed of caramelized mashed potatoes & a side Hobbit salad. The portion of salmon was huge & came out hot & I ate it all! I also ordered an apple dessert crepe ($20) to-go (which surprisingly took a really long time to receive - enough for my friend to eat her own entire crepe) & for what it was, it was just ok.

After seeing countless videos on social media, I was excited to finally visit this unique and whimsical-looking restaurant for Mother's Day lunch. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a disappointing start. When making the reservation, I was never informed that the restaurant would only be offering a limited Mother's Day menu. By the time we were seated and learned there were only five menu options available, with no access to the regular brunch menu, it was too late to make alternative plans. Not wanting to spend the holiday scrambling for another restaurant, we decided to stay and make the best of it. For the price, the food was underwhelming. Most of the dishes were mediocre, and my filet was noticeably overcooked. I had specifically been looking forward to trying items from their brunch menu, so finding out it wasn't available was disappointing. The cocktails were visually appealing but overly sweet and lacked balance. Another disappointment was the seating. Despite making reservations in advance, we were not seated in one of the restaurant's signature enchanted booths. To be fair, there are only three of these themed booths in the entire restaurant. The rest of the dining room felt somewhat dated and cluttered with dusty artificial plants. The overall atmosphere didn't quite match the magical experience portrayed online and on social media. The staff did make an effort to celebrate Mother's Day by giving moms elf ears and light-up tiaras, which was a fun touch and added to the theme. In the end, I left feeling disappointed. The concept and marketing create high expectations, but the food, seating experience, and overall value didn't quite live up to the hype. While the restaurant certainly offers a unique theme, my experience fell short of what I was expecting, and I'm not sure I would be motivated to return.

The food is outstanding, but what really sets them apart is the level of service. Honestly some of the best I have experienced anywhere. I walked in about 20 minutes before closing, which most places would not be thrilled about, and they welcomed me without hesitation. No attitude, no rushing, just genuine hospitality. While I was waiting for my pizza, someone, possibly the owner, came over and told me they had accidentally dropped my pizza in the oven and it did not look great. He said there was nothing wrong with it, but because of how it looked, they were going to give it to me for free on top of the new pizza they were making. That alone says everything about their standards and integrity. It did not stop there. I had also grabbed the last piece of tiramisu, and before I left, he handed me a coupon for a free tiramisu next time. That is not normal service. That is above and beyond. The pizza itself was incredible. Unique combinations, bold flavors, and clearly made with care. The tiramisu was just as good. Rich, balanced, and the perfect finish. This place is the real deal.
