    Benedict's Italiano

I have been meaning to try this place for months. Grabbed a friend and stopped in one Saturday morning around 11:30. Busy but we got right in and seated. So cute inside! I got to see the tree but we sat in another room. Everything on the menu looked sooooo good. I settled on the Italiano and man, was I happy with that. The garlic bread made it really unique! Delicious. I also took a beignet to go. I wasn't going to try it in the car but was stuck waiting for a delivery and...I learned the hard way! Do not eat it in the car.

I visited Benedict's in Dundee twice. The atmosphere here is nice, cozy, and homely. This unique restaurant has a living tree growing through it and out the roof. Service was cool. The great menu options for breakfast is what drew me here. The first go round I had scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and blueberry pancakes. The eggs and turkey sausage were fine. The blueberry pancakes had plenty of blueberries mixed throughout the batter, but I really wasn't a fan of the batter flavor. I really wanted to try the biscuits and gravy because the gravy was made with turkey sausage instead of pork, so I came back. On my return visit I did not like the biscuits and gravy at all. The biscuits were savory and contained some extra ingredients. It looked like finely chopped carrots or something. This breakfast item was a no go for me. I think the gravy should be savory enough to use on good ole regular biscuits. I did like the house potatoes thought. They were seasoned well and cooked right. I really wanted to like Benedicts more than I did.

Another great breakfast joint that fulfills my hubby's dietary needs. Easy to sub in turkey bacon or turkey sausage without complaint. Delicious food and friendly staff

I love this place. It has character, great service, and good food. I can eat everything on menu! We had the apple beignets, portobello benedict, and crab & avocado omelette. So good that we didn't even need to go boxes. They say you shouldn't play with your food, but when you're with family at a fun place, you just can't help yourself (which explains the aftermath of pictures. Thank you for a fun time!

I was seated right away and everyone was very nice. The building gives homey vibes and feels like you just went to a friends house. The food not only looks amazing but tastes amazing. It's my new favorite place to eat.

Cozy, yummy, friendly, and attentive are just the baseline expectations at Benedict's. They go beyond that with the quality of food and beverages. It has been a LONG time since I have had the perfectly balanced Caramel Latte, and you betcha I ordered TWO. My three year old was craving a waffle, and he loved it (we all know how quickly toddler minds can be changed- but this was not one of those times)! My husband commented, "The worst part of this meal is that it is gone."

We have not been here for over three years, so decided to come for brunch today. It is a little house at East Dundee, with a tree house in the middle. The menu is what we remember - it offers a variety of breakfast and lunch items, both classic and slight twist of the classic/seasonal. Best of all, it has Intelligentsia coffee! Service was good and very friendly and attentive staff. They didn't take call ahead or online waitlist. Luckily, we got there when it was not too busy. Foods were solid. The eggs were basted in butter, so added flavor. The grit was not smooth - it could have been cooked a bit longer. The temperature of the food was ok, it was warm but not hot. We would come back to try the lunch menu as there are some interesting sandwiches.

    Unique location.

Had an awesome breakfast at this quaint restaurant. My dining partners and I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a quality breakfast. The Benedict's ala Munich was genius. If you love outside the box thinking, you need to try it. Potato pancakes, brat, caramelized onions, poached eggs and a mustard hollandaise sauce. My mouths watering thinking about it. Lemon zest pancakes were fluffy and flavorful. My other dining partners enjoyed their chocolate chip pancakes. The order of beignets weren't New Orleans quality but were solid. Plenty of coffee was made available with a pot on the table. Kudos to our waitress, who was knowledgeable of the menu items and attentive to the needs of our table.

I've been there many times, pre-renovation, and now twice since renovation. One of the things I like most is that the owner so clearly loves what she's doing and is almost always there, interacting with customers and bringing cheer and warmth. The place feels--especially in the summer time--like sitting on a European street. The food is always tasty (the deviled eggs especially), the drinks are creative. I could use a slightly wider cocktail list that incorporates varying base spirits and experiments a bit more, but what they serve up is good.

The menu isn't overwhelming which is nice. They have a variety of plates but not enough of a choice to make you look for days. We ordered cocktails, which were nice and strong, but also refreshing. The open air made it feel like we were in a vacation resort. Our server was polite and would go and check about anything we had questions about. Real top notch fella. We started with raw oysters which were good. I ordered the gnudi (gnocchi) with red sauce and beef short rib (server's recommendations). My spouse had the lab chops. We both loved our meals. The presentation and flavors were all there. I think it's a nice place to go to on occasions because it's a bit more expensive than I expected, but the flavors and meals made it worth the cost. Staff was great, space was clean and airy, food was great.

I first had the veggie bliss omelette and the berry bliss pancakes. The omelette was satisfying and the berry bliss pancakes stood out on their own. The fruit and sweet glaze did not require any additional syrup and made for some delicious pancakes. I liked the barbacoa skillet the second time around. I think the meat could have had a little more seasoning , but the side of sour cream and picante sauce helped bring more flavor to the skillet. This time I had plain pancakes and they were no were as good as the berry bliss! Triple Berry is a solid breakfast spot for some good eats.

So, when visiting them, we decided to stop by here for breakfast. The atmosphere is cute, I guess. Neighborhood greasy-spoon/diner vibe, with obvious regulars and staff greeting them. Our waitress was brash and frankly, barely came around, so maybe they favor the regulars here? Not sure. I asked for an Iced Coffee, was given bland cold brew. The food was decent but not great. The Irish Benedict was very heavy, and the hollandaise sauce tasted like grease. My Dad got a Traditional Breakfast. He said the eggs were fine but the sausage was slick with grease. The best item was the pancakes, so I guess this restaurant is named accordingly. No, I wouldn't come back, due to the mediocre service and food.
