I thoroughly enjoyed my Country Skillet breakfast! On a Saturday morning, as we headed to Honeymoon Island, I searched for a breakfast place en route & found Benedict's Family Restaurant. Because it's located in a bland, semi-vacant shopping plaza, I never would have discovered Benedict's without Yelp. We chose to sit inside by the window, although some outdoor seating is available. While we were dining, I noticed a couple with a dog sit down outside, and smiled when I saw their waitress bring a bowl of fresh water. Our own server was pleasant and efficient, and the kitchen was fairly quick in preparing our homestyle breakfasts. My skillet was a delicious combination of potatoes, eggs & meats, and I was able to request no onions nor green peppers. Portions were very filling, as I couldn't quite finish my meal. We must have visited on an off day. Reviews are good. Place was busy. Maybe some staff did not show up. Our waitress was running to try to keep up. Trouble in the kitchen, too. Food was inedible. I was very impressed with this place. It was busy for a Thursday morning in my opinion. They seated me quickly and had my water and juice out quickly. I ordered an egg, ham sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious. It was exactly what I was looking for. The egg was cooked perfectly, the ham was warm, and just the right amount of moisture and the melted cheese on top was delicious. The bowl of fruit was also very good. If I lived there I would definitely be going here a lot. read more

I love to eat, and relax personally. I didn't find that at this restaurant. If you don't like a loud restaurant this one isn't for you. The food is ok, I've tried quite a few options. The breakfast is definitely the highlight, I was not in love with the burger personally, it was not bad, it just didn't hold my attention. The lunch was not memorable in my opinion. I would highly suggest they should be a little more particular about there service. It could use a bit of work. read more

Nice restaurants they have. Very popular for brunch. So if you go with family or friends be prepared for a bit of a wait. If going as a party of 2 then it is way easier to get a seat. Service was friendly and helpful. The coffee was okay. The eggs benedicts are what they are known for. But my recommendation is to stick with the traditional benedicts. The other ones just might have flavors that just don't go too well. I was also told to stay away from the Greek omelette... it just ain't Greek. Otherwise, great place to have a nice leisurely brunch with family. read more

5 stars on the food, fresh and delicious. Server we got never smiles, complained how short handed they were to excuse her lack of service to us. We would've had 2 mimosas maybe 3, but after our glasses sat empty and we asked any staff that wandered by to help us, we left. Management needs to make staff focus on customers more, after all... our business keeps yours open and operating. The server is the important reflection of success, along with the food. read more

Delicious!!!! We ate here on Vacation in Dunedin, Fl. This place reminds me of Greek Diners in NY but with more limited menu and extra special dishes. The Greek Omelet with Gyro and homemade Tzatziki sauce was fantastic!!! Mediterranean omelette was also delicious...this time with olives and lots of feta which I love! Service was great! We met some old friends here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and loved it. 1st off, we had 5 small children in our party and our server was amazing! She was patient and always smiling; even when we changed our initial order. As for the food, it all came out cooked to order for our entire party of 9, all at once! Our drinks were filled frequently and we had plenty of face time with the server despite a busy dining room and patio. As for the food, it was all great. I ordered the Reuben and it was awesome. Fresh sauerkraut, lean corned beef, and crisp bread. The dressing was spot on too. I really enjoyed the house made chips as well. I also ordered a side of the pineapple and coconut bread. It was very soft with a nicely finished border that had a slightly sweet crumble to it. Great place for breakfast and brunch. Make sure to get there early so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the big portions. (I.e.- get there more than 30min. before they close lol) read more

My group dines here every Tuesday for breakfast. The food is consistently very good with great service. We usually have Nadine as our waitress who is very efficient. She knows our orders before we order. The coffee is always plentiful. This restaurant is my gold standard that I measure all other breakfast restaurants to and no other place comes close. If I could give this place 7 stars I would. The value, quantity, service, and quality is always consistent. Service is fast And friendly. Every time we dine else where (only because we are in a different town) I always end up saying " it's no Benedict's". read more

Benedict's was the start of our wonderful late fall almost winter day that was perfect as can be. Benedicts was very close to the Pirate's Cove Marina where we rented jet ski's. It was so convenient, and a nice hop, skip and jump. My husband was happy to see that they have breakfast skillets on the menu. That is few and far between at the breakfast places out here. It was very tasty. I ordered an Egg's Benedict with Spinach and bacon with sauce on the side. The sauce was very yummy, and really did make this dish. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was nice and chill. Not too crowded. This is the type of breakfast place that I just wish was close to home. They also have outside seating so you can bring your doggie. That makes me even more happy. I will bring my doggie back with me when I go back here and have a great breakfast. read more

A little "hole in the wall" in a shopping center, but with an amazing staff, smiley, welcoming and definitely ready to accommodate customers. This is a very cute family owned establishment. The service is phenomenal! It's tiny so it's a good thing that soon they will be moving to a much larger location nearby. They have outdoor seating and are kind enough to provide water and a dog bowl which my pup greatly appreciated. I tried the club on sourdough with a side of cabbage and brisket soup. They were both good but not amazing. I would try something new before reordering. My friend had the fries as her side and they were really good! I also tried the iced coffee. It was large which was nice but not very strong. Decent for $1.99. The prices are great with almost everything being under $10. I can't wait to try something new once they open in their new location (in the same shopping plaza) on August 2! read more

My family and I lived in the Dunedin area for 4.5 years and only towards the end of that time did we encounter Benedicts. It's a shame it took that long. This location is situated at the Honeymoon Island/Dunedin Causeway and is the love of locals and tourists alike. My favorite, breakfast or not, is the Gyro with the homemade kettle chips. The Lamb meat is perfect and the Tzatziki sauce is one of the best around. The portions are large and you get your money's worth. I always sat at the bar, and not the alcohol bar you are thinking. The waitress is extremely attentive and is always smiling. I live in New Port Richey now but am considering driving to Dunedin every once and a while so I do not miss my Benedicts and receive my Gyro fix. read more

My wife and I ate at Benedicts on Mother's Day. We both got the egg's benedict because that is what they are known for. My wife got the crab benedict and I the bacon. We were both disappointed in the food. The problem was the hollandaise sauce. It resembled cheese spread and was not very good. Not much flavor and not very rich as you would expect from hollandaise sauce. The crabmeat on my wife's was the fake crabmeat and smelled fishy. She only ate part of one of her muffins. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and the place was packed. Maybe they just had a bad day since they were very busy with the Mother's Day crowd. read more

Most restaurants that last twenty years or more are doing something right. Some just coast on their reputations while going slowly downhill. You won't be disappointed - Benedict's is still going strong. Good food, reasonable prices and pleasant service will always keep people coming back for more. I had a grilled chicken salad that included sliced mandarins, strawberries, cucumbers, and red onion on a bed of lettuce. It was a good-sized portion of sliced chicken cooked to perfection (chicken served like this is sometimes overcooked and dry, but Benedict's was nice and juicy). I also loved the creamy Italian dressing. Sophia had tuna salad garnished with a healthy portion of fresh fruit. Included was a choice of five different fruit breads. Served warm, she had banana nut. Loved it. The old strip mall setting isn't fancy by any measure, but hey, you're close to the bay. The inside is very comfortable, though. They are known for eggs Benedict but also have quiche, pancakes, waffles, omelets and biscuits and gravy. Definitely will be a place worth going to often.
