Our server, Rosa, was nonexistent after taking our order, until serving it separately to us. She did not return to our table once to ask if I wanted more coffee, or how was our meal. Luckily , I signalled a manager, I think, about the cold hash browns, and another waitress about some hot coffee. This place is misleading if you only go by the exterior. The parking lot is pretty tight so bring a small vehicle if you can. The interior is pleasant without being overwhelming. The staff is pretty cool and put up with my older brothers being a pain so that was awesome. Food came out piping hot and tasted really good for the cost. I'd already posted a review, but I'll gladly do it again. This hometown diner spot is a gem in the rough. As you approach the entrance, there's seating outdoors, and lots of dog bowls. They had me there! But once inside, I felt like it was a no judgement zone. The staff is very friendly, especially Stephanie, my favorite server, and I was able to have a hassle-free, very late breakfast with an old friend. We chatted, while delicious food was served. My veggie omelette and hash browns were out of this world delicious. My friend of 40 years is fighting cancer, and Stephanie was so patient and accommodating during our visit. I couldn't be more thankful. There was no feeling of being rushed, even as it was fairly busy. I love this place and will continue to visit whenever I'm in Palm Harbor. read more

Doing some early doctor visits and in the mood for Brunch, decided to go back to Flapjacks, having been there once before. It was busy but we were seated right away. Kennedy, our smiling and vivacious server, brought menus and waters. My wife went for the special Mexican Scramble with onions, green peppers, eggs, jalapeños, chorizo and pepper jack cheese and a side of whole wheat toast. I chose the Irish Bennie with corned beef hash and a side of grits. Both meals were excellent. The Scramble was delightful and had a nice heat. My Bennie was a delicious twist on a classic. I've passed this location numerous times since moving to Clearwater during the pandemic. I drive past the intersection of 580 and McMullen Booth Road numerous times. I happen to be up early this morning and did a U-turn just stop at flap jacks. I received a very warm welcome from a sweet, looking waitress named Kennedy once upon entering the building. She made great venue suggestions and seemed very knowledgeable about those. My food is fantastic. It was well worth stopping in this morning. The service was exceptional. it's been years since I've been here. My friend and I went for breakfast. It wasn't crowded when we arrived about 9:45 AM so we were seated immediately. It was filled when we left around 11AM. There is a new menu. So many options. I had blueberry crepes with a side of bacon. My friend had the daily special of Corned beef hash, 2 eggs, grits, 2 pancakes. The plates were huge! My crepes were handmade and fresh ( not frozen) there were 3 footlong crepes stuffed with blueberry compote and topped with real whipped cream. The ends of the crepes overhung the plate slightly. My bacon came out just like I wanted it-crispy!! I had a cup of tea with 2 refills (I'm so glad they don't serve Liptons tea which is bitter) My friend's meal was perfect and she ate every bite-usually she doesn't finish but she said it was soooo good she had to. We will be back soon. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. The restroom was clean and large. There is plenty of parking in front. read more

Well I was wrong the food was awesome and the inside was really nice. We went early-ish on a Saturday morning so we had a 5 minute wait. Now if you're taking your vegan friend not a lot of options for them. Now if you're a meat eater or vegetarian you have a great menu to choose from. I got the vegetable skillet meal with eggs over easy and a pancake on the side. There was so much food. I could only get through half of it. My parter got corn beef hash, pancakes and eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy he opted for the half portion he said it great. The kid got chicken and waffles. He said it really good. If I could give it a negative I would. We sat at the counter & watched as "regulars" were given food after we had FINALLY put our orders in. Place was a mad house & whoever was in charge needs a different system. We watched our order sit under the heat lamp for 20 minutes & our ponytail blonde crabby waitress Tanya, never served it to us, never bothered to check or speak to us, & after 35 minutes we put some cash down for our drinks & left. Nope... Failure at every level. Just to preface this review, I'm very fair and take a comprehensive approach to any judgment I place on any business. I stopped in to flapjacks for the first time on my way to work. I parked right in front of the windows so I can see my pup in my truck. When I walked in, as the hostess, also the manager, was directing me where to sit, I immediately asked her if I can sit in the empty booth next to the window. Not only did she not even greet me in any friendly manner, but she seemed to put off that I asked to be sat in a seat that needed to be wiped down. My waitress came over and took my food order. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with home fries and asked for the home fries scattered and crispy. These two items can literally be brought out in about 5 minutes as everything is already pre-made. Instead, I waited for almost 20 minutes to have my biscuits and gravy come out with three pieces of bacon. I asked the waitress if the home fries are coming out, and then she told me that home fries didn't come with it. I asked to see the menu, and showed her that it did. I also told her that I asked for the home fries scattered and crispy, which would have been a great time for her to tell me that it didn't come with home fries. She then told me that she thought I was talking about the bacon. I guess that's an honest mistake. I took a bite of my business and gravy right away, and of course it was cold. Managers that shouldn't be managing an argumentative wait staff are not conducive of a good business model. The biscuits and gravy were over salted and bland. In addition, I saw the hostess/manager seat a group of women, which was her table, and she was very friendly smiled and greeted them all. I ate the bacon because I was hungry and told her not to worry about the rest and that I would pay for the bacon. My waitress said not to worry about the bacon. I thanked her and left. No apologies or anything. Just arguments. This is what the majority of restaurants are like unfortunately. We give them our money for their below average bland food and service and they can't even get the small things right. Edit:. I drove down the street to the next breakfast restaurant I could find called Le Peep. Night and day. Sometimes it takes an epic failure to find something good. Though the waitstaff didn't seem ..I don't know.. enthuiastiac(?) to be there. We were seated and a waitress was there immediately. Contrary to the restaurant name, Flapjacks aren't their strong suit--the skillets are. The pancakes seem like the microwave kind from the grocery store, rubbery and chewy. Not too much to write home about in terms of flavor either. On the other hand, the skillets are insane. They're large and packed full of flavor. I had the Greek version, and it was served with mounds of feta and gyro lamb meat. Absolutely delicious, and gut busting. Staff was stand-offish at first but got chatty after a little while. We had a pretty disappointing meal here. The coffee is hotel coffee, my husband called it "dishwater". The potatoes were oily. My eggs benny was pretty good and our service was fine.
