Popped in for Mother's Day brunch. Reminded me if Claim Jumpers and Cracker Barrel had a baby LOL Bar service was very slow - they seemed short staffed. The legends are true....Josh is the best bartender ever. Brisket Mac and cheese was fantastic. The brisket was sweet and spicy, and it was a good mix of flavors with the cheeses. This place really caught my eye driving by the restaurant during the day. And when you walk inside, it doesn't disappoint. It has a pretty amazing bakery section when you walk through the back door to enter the restaurant. I was starving and picked the biggest thing on the menu which is the smokehouse platter and you get a ton of food with this platter (Brisket, pulled pork, quarter rack of ribs all served with coleslaw, Texas toast & side of fries.) I thought the price was absolutely amazing because you get all the food for $28.95. Needless to say as starved as I was, I couldn't even finish the whole meal. Our server was Scott and he was pretty amazing and he was training a new hire and I'm sorry but I can't remember her name but she was equally great and explained the menu really well. It's really a bonus that they stay open till 11 PM Thursday through Saturday. So anything you get that is from the BBQ...they bring out this 4 pack of house sauce. I tried each of them and all were great and had their own unique taste. Chipotle White, PD BBQ, Korean BBQ, Carolina BBQ. The Korean BBQ was definitely my favorite. The chipotle white is kind of almost like a mayonnaise in my opinion. The inside while definitely fresh and clean looking...it does have a sort of rustic, actual prohibition older type feel. First time experiencing Prohibition Dunedin & it was impressive!!! Our server, Emma greeted us upon entry and was great in helping with menu suggestions! Also consistently checking up on us to make sure we were doing well on our visit. The entire restaurant had a cool vibe, nice atmosphere, especially with the Christmas decorations throughout the restaurant. Food was excellent in flavor, served hot and generous portions!!! Definitely looking forward to visiting again to try more items from their menu in addition to one of their desserts which all looked amazing!!! We ordered a medium well burger with all the veg and bacon (I forgot to order it without a bun but that was easy to work around), medium rare steak, collard greens and fries to go. Both the sweet potato and the rosemary fries were crispy and seasoned which is a rare thing these days! The steak and burger were also properly seasoned.The collard greens were tasty too! So, for items of this sort, I can recommend Prohibition! Kenya was very helpful on the phone and when I arrived to pick up. When it turned out one set of fries was somehow missing, she addressed it right away and all was well! I appreciate her focus on making sure we were satisfied and got what we ordered. UPDATE 5/9/25... Came for my birthday tonight and invited a good friend to join us. We were running a little late and he had ordered the PD's Fallin Nachos with brisket as an appetizer for us all to share. WOW!!! Absolutely delicious -- I may get that as an entree next time. The brisket was in beautiful chunks all mixed through the nachos, and the Gouda cheese sauce and pico were like heaven on a plate! I got a side salad (LOVE their house-made ranch!) and the PD Burger again -- been dreaming about that amazing char-grilled flavor. Once again it didn't disappoint! I've had other friends come and have that burger since our original review, and all say it is the best burger they've ever had! My son got the BBQ combo meal and he was silent during dinner, because he was enjoying it so much! The ribs fall off the bone, and flavor is amazing! And our friend got the BBQ tacos and just gobbled them right up. Only thing he wasn't fond of was the rosemary fries -- that's ok, it was more for my wife and I to share! (She was full from her portion of the nachos, so don't order her own plate tonight). For desert we all shared a slice of the French Silk Pie and the Chocolate Dream Pie/Cake? Both were beautiful, rich, and decadent deserts. And of course I had to grab a free birthday cookie on the way out -- white chocolate macadamia, which I'm saving for tomorrow. The best part of Prohibition is the outside and the Bourbon. The food is overpriced and tragic. But the Blueberry old fashion is phenomenal. They do have a cute bar inside if you choose to stop for a drink. The ribs were the worst I have had in my entire life. In fact, before Prohibition, I didn't know ribs could be bad. It's either little meat or juice fall off the bone. The ribs at prohibition have NO meat and what meat exists is SO dried out that you can't get it off in order to eat it. They were completely inedible. The flavor is peppery but no meat comes off the bone. It's like a chew toy for a dog. The rosemary fries are ok. The chicken sandwich is dry and flavorless and the risotto shouldn't be called risotto. Gordon would have a lot to say about that risotto. But those ribs went straight into the garbage. What a huge waste of money. If I wasn't with a group of strangers I would have said something. So much effort was spent on the outside of the building and none on hiring people who can actually cook. I walked out with a $50 tab and still hungry. Major disappointment. I cannot recommend Prohibition Dunedin unless it's only for a drink. read more

For our entrees we had the brisket skillet, pork belly blt, and kids chicken fingers and fries! Probably some of the best fries I've ever had ! I loved the pork belly sandwich ! Brunch bottomless mimosas were so good too($20, if you drink 3 or more, it pays for itself) , a good balance of alcohol and juice ! The menu does indeed have a lot of classic bbq dishes, like ribs & brisket. But I placed my aim on a Mediterranean Shrimp salad. The plate of greens came with Greek dressing, feta cheese, & fried artichokes. It was a tasty combination. I especially liked the seasoning rub on the shrimp. I am sad to say that our experience at Prohibition was not as good as expected. We are constantly searching for good barbecue places, specifically for brisket, and decided to try this eatery. When we first came in, there was a sign to go see the bartender for seating, so we went to the bar. Then we saw a sign to go to the hostess at the front door for seating, there was no hostess present. We walked around the restaurant aimlessly until I made eye contact with the chef and I waved. Then a few minutes later, somebody finally came out and greeted us. Mind you, after we sat down, there were three servers and a hostess that finally came out. The restaurant is pretty cute. Warm lighting, typical "prohibition-themed" vibes. Our waitress was nice and frequently checked on us. We have tried brisket at many different barbecue restaurants, and this was the dryest brisket I have had in a long time. Some peices were completely over-seasoned, and some not seasoned at all. It was definitely a let-down. Prior to visiting this establishment, I called in advance about the price of their brisket by the pound. I specifically asked how much it would be. The woman that I talked to said she had to ask the chef. He told her $25 a pound. When we received our check, we were charged $35 a pound for the brisket. $20 more than expected for the two pounds ordered. This is not a big deal, since we are used to spending hundreds on a quality meal, but it is the principle of saying the incorrect price, not just a couple dollars off, and our waitress said their was nothing she could do. It is what it is, just annoying is all. The worst part was as we were eating, one of the employees came and dumped concentrated bleach in all of the bar sinks, which was an unbearable smell. Even the woman that came in later and sat next to us at the bar said the same thing. The waitress said it was to take care of the fly problem. Definitely not appetizing and extremely rude to pour bleach concentrate while people are eating right in front of it. Overall, our experience was extremely mediocre. I'm not sure if we will ever go back to Prohibition Dunedin. read more

The brisket sandwich was awful, it did not have any slaw on it as the menu says, saturated in cheese sauce and garlic aioli with dry burnt inedible pieces with a few fries in a tiny basket.
