What a wonderful place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Our first visit was 3 days ago for dinner. But breakfast looked so appetizing that Husband and friend ordered 2 breakfast items. Friend had a bowl, Husband had eggs, sausage links, hash browns and pancakes (asked Carrie to hold the toast). I had the coleslaw and chicken salad on croissant. I know I should have taken photos, but by the time I remembered, all the food was gone. Food was plentiful. Husband was glad he didn't get the toast, and he gave 3/4 of his pancakes to our friend. All of us were full at the end of the meal. The place is artfully decorated, has excellent service, and was comfortable. We are looking forward to our next meal here, as we will love choosing different menu items!! read more

We have watched this restaurant come to life! Went there tonight after hearing great feedback from others and we can say we really liked it. It's conveniently located on US 19. It's nicely designed and def gives you a feel of a diner. The staff were very nice and Rachel took great care of us. Attentive, informative, and explained who was who! The food came out at a good time and the portions were perfect. We had the Shepherds' pie which came out hot and well balanced. We also had the burger bowl, which was tasty. Diet coke. Not super expensive, good food (bacon is pretty thin - like the omelette more than the scrambled eggs). The service is very good and I like most of what I order (ribs are good). On the way home after taking off early from work and saw this place. I did not have breakfast this morning so I decided to give it a try. The place was crowded but I got a table. The staff was friendly and my waitress Athena came quickly to get my drink order while I perused the menu. They offered all day breakfast as well as lunch options. My drinks of coffee and water arrived and I decided to try the huevos rancheros with the eggs, sunny side up yolk loose. In a reasonable amount of time out came the Huevos Rancheros. As seen I. The picture it looked good and came with more chips than I expected. The jalapeños and salsa added to the taste giving a zippy flavor. They have an interesting policy. Once you take two bites of your entrée, they drop the check. They stayed. It's no hurry, but you pay the waitress when you're ready. The portion was just right filling but not overly. My husband has been bugging me to try this place so we decided to go tonight. Typical diner experience. Bright when you walk in and we managed to find a booth. Waitress was very friendly and kind. He got the breakfast Burger with some extra eggs. He loved his but tomatoe was mushy. I ate his fries and they were hot & fresh. I got the chicken salad croissant sandwich with broccoli. Tomato was mushy and lettuce wilty. The croissant was not good, almost tasted stale. The chicken salad itself was supposed to have pecans in it but I never found any and about two grapes. No flavor. Ate half & decided to bring the second half home and Doctor it up. There was a lot of chicken in there and the broccoli was absolutely delicious. They also had a Hollandaise sauce that came with his eggs that I put on the broccoli and it was cheesy and good. Can't say I would be running back but definitely not a bad place and probably just for breakfast. I would like to try their eggs benedict since the Hollandaise sauce was so good! read more

We found our new favorite! We had to be persistent to try this restaurant but I was determined. We were trying to order from DoorDash & had a glitch. We ordered dinner from here last night & I swear I was dreaming of their biscuits & sausage gravy, I hadn't even tried them yet. I did have the gravy on the country turkey dinner so I had an idea. I woke up & hubby already says he was looking at metro's menu. "Me... YESSS!!!" He chose the Croissant French Toast & was going to just take my eggs from the Biscuits & Sausage Gravy he wanted scrambled. It comes with a side so I chose home fries with onions. Then, the driver left the wrong order. I was so disappointed when I opened the bag to see chicken tenders & waffles. Thankfully DD & Metro fixed this quickly & had a new dasher bring me a remake. We decided we may as well sample these tenders that smelled fabulous! So I can now confidently say those chicken tenders are also fire! Metro diner does not play around. Their Portions are great. Everything is freshly made & well seasoned. If you like bland food... it's probably not the place for you. If you enjoy fresh home cooked meals, you have to try them! I don't usually care for syrup.. I tried hubby's Croissant French Toast & he insisted I try the syrup too, I did & the French toast melts in your mouth. He said the scrambled eggs had a slightly "creamy texture" home fries were crispy & honestly we didn't add on any sides since we already had more than enough food. It's even packaged nicely & bags are sealed. I can't find a single negative. I don't even consider that "glitch" with the app an issue. It made me try something new & I am so glad I did. What really stood out to me was when I called to ask about my orders continuing to cancel or result in an error message, the manager on duty was friendly & helpful. Our first order was Country fried turkey & shepherds pie. It was also delicious. The mashed potatoes were real, gravy fresh, green beans also fresh, not canned. Shepherds pie had great flavor & was even better than a local Irish place that is a fave of ours. Definitely give them a try!! We also sampled their bbq ribs. They were cooked perfectly & tender. I visited Metro diner for the second time this past weekend. I meet monthly with a group of ladies and this was our second time coming to Metro. I can't say enough good things about our waitress Jen. She was funny, she was accommodating, she was patient with all these women. She was very attentive and prompt in refilling our coffee cups! This time around, I had the biscuits and gravy which also came with scrambled eggs and home fries. Portions are very generous so I needed to go box because I couldn't eat everything on the plate. There were a variety of items ordered at our table and everything looked delicious. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to spots, and I look forward to trying it out for lunch or dinner. read more

This is my second visit, and I'm just as impressed as I was last time. While it was quiet today since it's only just after 3 PM it was very busy last time (around 1pm on a Saturday), and the wait time was shorter than the estimated time. Today, we were seated immediately and greeted by our friendly and personable server, Courtney, who cheerfully accommodated my dietary restrictions. I had the avocado breakfast sandwich, my sister had the fried cheese curds with ranch dressing. Both were delicious and the portions were generous The seating area has an open floor plan with tables, booths, and classic barstools at the counter area by the open kitchen. Exceptional place with in house food prep and cooking of clean food! Kimberly (the employee of the month) was our server and provided excellent service and answered all questions about what items were made in the kitchen and which were processed foods. We really enjoyed our lunch! I also want to give a shout out to Mason, who was cleaning up after everyone when they left... he was doing a great job and no doubt will be the employee of the month soon (the contest is not rigged Mason!). after several intentions to go we finally did. we we're not impressed from the moment we walked in. the man who was at the greeting/ seating counter could barley bring himself to a smile, and could hardly be heard as he mumbled something. we were seated and he put down the menus on the table and shuffled away. next we waited so long for a server to arrive that another server from a different section came over to help get our server to arrive.! finally our server acted as if she was put out by our arrival. she was very disinterested in being at work . we got our order finally and left without being impressed. needless to say , we will not return and will share our disappointment with others. big question? who trains these robotic staff? how can a restaurant with impressive history as this one has....keep such minimally enthusiastic staff employed? read more

Today is their second day opening and the ribbon cutting. Overall, I'd say the Metro has potential with their new interior, easy to read menus and attentive staff. The food was prepared as requested and the coffee was good and plenty of refills. The home fries were disappointing and looked and tasted like just frozen cubed potatoes. Dinner available all day and I would say the chicken and waffles looked big enough to share.
